Boom seems like it has been around forever. Part restaurant and part lounge adds up to a night spot with a lot of attitude. This place prides itself on its very European clientèle, and the attitude to boot, it's been one long-running sure thing since it opened (sometime back in the 90s I think).
The food is very Italian, very good, and very typical of most popular restaurants in the city - heavy on the pastas, meats and fish. They have a very good, extensive wine list and full bar. As places like Pastis have become caricatures of themselves, visitors will be impressed by this cosmopolitan slice of New York life.
