What is the main motivation for going to a hotel bar on Central Park South when you know you will be buying overpriced cocktails all night? The view, right? Well, Whiskey Park offers you the overpriced cocktails in a fairly comfortable lounge, but you are paying for the location and don't even get a view. It is on the ground floor and it is too dark to see the street outside, let alone Central Park.
I have only been in here a few times (at the suggestion of other people in my party, never my own) and I kind of dread going in. There is an air of exclusivity for apparently no reason (why have a bounder with a rope when there is no line and it is not crowded inside?). For me, the Whiskey Park's time has past.
