I see lots of negative reviews on the Hudson Hotel. Ignore them. This hotel is fun & priced right.
As with most New York City hotels, the rooms are small. Ours fit a double bed, nightstand, and armoire-type thing and it was a tight fit. However, as two adults who didn't travel to NYC to hang out in our hotel room, we never minded this. The rooms are done in modern decor and are very pleasing to the eye despite their size. The beds were comfy, the showers were hot, there was television and radio - good enough for me.
The hotel itself is awesome. The design is like nothing I've ever seen before. There is a restaurant (Hudson Cafeteria) that has good American fare. The Hudson Bar was dark, loud, and full of beautiful people. As a hotel guest, you are given a VIP pass so that you can enter the bar (get past the velvet rope) any time during your stay.
The hotel is centrally located, on W 58th Street which is close to Central Park, Broadway & the theater district, and an easy walk to Rockefeller Center.
If you are a fan of the Ian Schrager hotels, or like modern, fun decor & people, then this is a great hotel. We paid $189 per night and had an awesome time.
