Kind of small and up on the second floor these guys have been plugging away satisfying east siders comic book cravings for years. The selection isn't great but the service is A+ , the staff is always friendly and they know what they have. Nothing is cheap here but a block away from Bloomingdales what do you expect. Worth a look see when you are in the neighborhood as they have enough boxes of back issues that they just might have an oldie you've been looking for.

More
As the title indicates, the Cigar Inn is a man's oasis on several fronts. Not only do they have one of the best selections of cigars in the City, but they also offer a wide selection of men?s products. It's a great place to send your girlfriend, wife or both to buy gifts for you.
In addition, the Cigar Inn features a smoking lounge where you can puff on your favorite tobacco blend while watching sports on their wide screen television. The crowd that frequents this Upper East Side establishment, ranges from brain surgeon, to lawyers, cops, firemen, retirees, professional athletes accountants, stockbrokers, to (very calm) postal workers ...well you get the point.
Gus and Billy, the owners (or Innkeepers) provide their customers with excellent service, and are both very knowledgeable about cigars. The Inn is a great place for the cigar novice to learn about the finer points cigar smoking. There are no other stores in NYC that offer all that the Cigar Inn offers its customers, many of whom have been doing there puffing there since the store opened in 1993.
To be honest, you can find cheaper cigars in the City but you won't find all of the amenities that the Cigar Inn offers. However when it comes right down to it, I don't mind paying a dollar or two more for a cigar when I think about all the Inn offers. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
Pros: Smoking Lounge, Selection, wide variety of products

This is one of my favorite stores to visit when I go to New York City. It is jam packed, literally, with so many games. There are role-playing games (pencil and paper and more modern), strategy games, and battle simulation games. If you're local to the area, they have tournament room where you can play games with others. We always find something new and interesting to pick up when we shop there.

More
For anyone who really enjoys the smoking experience, this store cannot be topped. It is not for the casual cigarette smoker - it is really for the lover of all things tobacco. They have great gift ideas, and also have a very inviting smoking lounge. Everything is top quality and hand made, and you will likely find yourself engaged in some conversation about the the history of all their tobacco and supplies. This is a family owned business who really care about their customers. You will soon feel more like a friend than a customer.

THIS PLACE USED TO BE THE PLACE TO BE.
HOBBY KITS, STATIONERY, TOYS, COMICS, ELECTRONIC GAMES.
AROUND 2000 THOUGH, EVERYTHING SEEMED TO GO DOWNHILL.
LESS INVENTORY AND EVEN LESS INVENTORY.
AFTER 9/11, HOLY COW. THE INVENTORY WAS A JOKE.
WORST YET DURING 2002-2006. THE PLACE WAS A TEEN HANGOUT.
PLAYING YU GI OH CARDS NOISILY. TALKING GIBBERISH.
OWNER SAT BEHIND COUNTER READING PAPER, WATCHING TV AS IF HIS STORE WAS OWNED BY THIS TEEN MOB.
PLACE SMELLED. STAINED. LOOKED LIKE A TORNADO WENT THRU.
ITEMS FOR SALE PLACED HERE AND THERE. SOME DAMAGED AND OPENED.
BASICALLY, A DISGRACE TO ITS FORMER SELF AND TO CHINATOWN.
ONE DAY AT THE STORE I OVERHEARD ONE TOURIST FRIEND JOKING TO HIS BUDDY S**T, DID YOU JUST PRESS THE WARP BUTTON? MAN. THIS WASTELAND CAN'T REALLY BE THE HOBBY STORE WE JUST STEPPED INTO SECONDS AGO!
ENOUGH SAID.

It's hard to believe ten years ago the city was dotted with sports collectible shops. This store is one of the few left from the golden days. They tend to price their merchandise high and aren't particularly friendly but that being said if you need to purchase a box of the latest baseball or basketball cards they'll have it. The selection of unopened boxes is excellent. They also have a smaller selection of comics and toys but if you're shopping here it's for the cards.

This full service opticians is a family run neighborhood business on the upper east side (near East 56th Street). There is a specialist for contact lens wearers and they also give eye exams. In addition to serving your eye care needs, an added bonus is that they also sell high quality optics like Zeiss, Nikon and Leica and binoculars and telescopes and will give novices good information and advice. Excellent service.

This is the quirkiest little store, that could only be found in Manhattan and stay in business!
When my mother first walked by this store, I swear she squealed in delight as it reminded her of being a little girl. The store owner travels around collecting vintage kitchen wares, such as plates, mugs, glasses, bowls, measuring cups, salt and pepper shakers, cocktail shakers, mixing bowls, to sell at his store. They are arranged so beautifully, in all colors of the rainbow. There is also a great collection of vintage Christmas ornaments and greeting cards.
For anyone wanting to relive his or her childhood, or for those who love vintage and want to bring it into their home, Mr. Pink is the place to go.
Call ahead to find out the hours.
