Found all I wanted from the store and was delighted by the new and expanded space that was added to the store. I found wide selection of digital cameras, and professional gear. I’m very happy with my purchase, I was recommended to the store by a friend, and I will recommend them forward.
Thank you

I have bought several cameras and accessories at B&H over the years. I also bought a 6-disc DVD player several years ago. The staff at B&H, especially in the photo area where I've spent the most time, are just amazing. They can really give you good advice, and not one size fits all. When I was upgrading to a DSLR, I didn't want to spend a fortune, so the sales guy told me what to buy new, vs. what I could buy from their secondhand department to save money.
Recently, a Canon camera that I'd bought had a problem. I knew it was still under factory warranty but could not find the receipt, which Canon requires. I called B&H and they looked up my purchases using my phone number, and within about 3 minutes had sent me a PDF by email of my receipt, which I could print and send in to Canon with the camera! Now that is great service.
Pros: knowledgable staff, great prices
Cons: it's a zoo inside

For those who have shopped at B&H and found it overwhelming, consider stopping by Adorama. The store doesn't offer the same range of products as B&H but if you're in the market for photography supplies, chances are they'll be able to handle the vast majority of your needs. The small, cramped store is easy to navigate and the most common purchases (chemicals, paper, inkjet paper, etc) can be grabbed off the shelf. The prices may be slightly higher than B&H but for film it may be about a dime per roll of film.
Where I feel the store shines is the used department which is well stocked and features very friendly staff. I have bought and sold equipment several times from Adorama and have only had positive experiences. Check their website before showing up to save some time.
As with B&H the store does close for sabbath (Friday afternoon and all day Saturday) and all Jewish holidays so keep this in mind when planning your trip.

If you need photographic equipment in New York City, this is the place to go. From cameras to reflectors to slide scanners to every sort of paper you can imagine for your photo-quality printer they have it. The store is chaotic and runs on a somewhat bizarre system (note the green bins of goods being moved through the store overhead. They are closed for all Jewish holidays (this means they are closed Friday afternoons and Saturdays as well). But the prices are great. Do whatever research you can before you go -- the faster you can get in and out of this place the happier you'll be.

This really is one of the best places to go for your photo needs or wants. My friend recommended this place instead of going to your Best Buy or other electronic chain stores. They have an amazing array of merchandise. Plenty of new cameras to select from and play with. Also they usually have most items well stocked. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They really live up to their reputation so 5 stars!

I've bought everything from Camera Lens to bags for my equipment here. They have the largest selection of specialty items, some of the deepest discounts of any photographic supply house, and some excellent right on customer service.
My experience with them has always been pleasant. They know their stuff, and you can call them with questions which they will be happy to answer.
Shipping is always fast, and the goods that I have received have always gotten here in the best of condition, which is important when considering optical equipment can be delicate. I also bought a Dimage Scan from them which is one of the most important pieces I've ever bought, considering it has scanned and repaired some of my more precious photographic memories that can not be replaced.
B&H has great prices and great products and I would not hesitate to recommend them for hard to find optical equipment or great prices on everyday camera supplies.

Spectra has been open since 1978 processing snapshots, making prints in all sizes from 3x5 to murals and they quickly got into the digital age offering every service in that area too. The staff is friendly and know enough to explain all the services to an uninformed customer. They will not only give you a lesson on what you have to do for digital output but they have files you can download to help you calibrate your computer and prevent undesirable results.
