Editorial review from Citysearch 3/24/2014

Something is apparently wrong at this highly touted florist. The customer reception and understanding seemed good and the order was given but none of the agreed upon strictures to call the recipient about the wished for date and colors) was followed. they arrived out of the blue on an arbitrary date and as others report, my complaint to Walter, who blamed it on Doris who was out sick involved no apology and no return call to describe why the mix up had taken place. Something is failing at this shop and I should have read the reviews before placing my order by phone. more

POOR QUALITY, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE 4/25/2011

The flowers (a $250 arrangement of calla lillies) wilted and turned brown after a couple of days -- and I followed the watering directions from the florist. When I called the store to see if they could remedy the situation the manager said there was nothing he could do. Waste of money. more

Gorgeous Flowers! 9/23/2009

I first ordered flowers from Zeze for a business colleauge based on a recommendation from a friend in NYC. The arrangement was absolutely beautiful... so beautiful that my colleague took a photo of the flowers and sent it to me so I could see how amazing they were. Since then, this is the only florist my company uses for our NYC clients. Their arrangements make an unforgettable statement! Highly recommended. Pros: Unique, One of a Kind Floral Arrangements Cons: Only in NYC more

Fabulous Florist! 8/29/2009

I have been ordering flowers from Zeze for years. While I have occasionally strayed, I always return to them for their gorgeous, unique arrangements. Their flower arrangements may not be traditional, and perhaps don't appeal to everyone, but I've only gotten the most wonderful compliments on their bouquets. I've read that the owner grows many of the flowers they use at his farm upstate. Amazing! If you get a chance, visit their shop. It's absolutely beautiful. Pros: Beautiful Shop + Unique Floral Arrangements more

overated 7/9/2009

Zeze has been rated as one of the best, which drew us to the shop in the first place. Despite its rude attitude, we have gone back few times due to the type of orchids they sell, until the last straw. I had to prohibit my partmer from buying me any flower from that shop. Despite the price, the quality of the plants is poor. But worst of all is the attitude of the male owner, who behaves as if customer's call is a bother. Based on our last experience, we questioned their professional knowledge of their plants. Definitely not the professional knowledge and attitude of a florist selling plants costing more than $300 each. Pros: beautiful, unusual orchids Cons: rude attitude, overpriced more

This is the best flower shop in the city. 11/30/2008

This is the best flower shop in the city. It is like the Louis Vuitton of flower shops. The inside of the shop is amazingly beautiful, and it gives off such a calming vibe. The store is filled with antiques that are also for sale. The antiques are amongst all of the beautiful, rare flowers throughout the store, creating a museum of fine antiques and unique orchids. I have yet to see such a large selection of orchids both rare and standard. Bottom line- This is the finest floral boutique in Manhattan. Pros: big selection of orchids/ rare flowers in arrangements Cons: expensive, but worth it more

Very disappointing 7/1/2008

I spent $125 on a bouquet here after the salesperson told me on the phone that $75 would only get a very small bedside arrangement. I was assured that increasing what I was spending would result in a beautiful, full, centerpiece bouquet. Well, it arrived for my Mother's birthday and it was an enormous disappointment. It was very small - no more than 12"" high with flowers and did not make an impact at all. Yes, some beautiful flowers were used...but it was insignificant and not at all impressive. I hoped for something beautiful and substantial They are very overpriced and they promise WAY more than they deliver. I would absolutelly avoid this florist!!!!!!!!!! more

COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY 7/28/2005

DO NOT GO HERE. I spent 125 dollars on an arrangement. they told me that this would be perfect for a centerpiece arrangement in a livingroom. They arrived promptly, albeit a miniature version of what i had imagined. the arrangement, in the ""vase,"" which is simply a cheap bowl, was less than a foot tall. The 20 flowers, about, in this bowl, made each flower about six bucks apiece. they weren't rare or gorgeous, some were already wilted! When i called, they told me that they have a compact style and dont use filler flowers. The flowers were not even good, let alone gorgeous. They refused to replace them with a more appropriate arrangement. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST. Pros: prompt Cons: value, quality, service more

Review based on limited exposure to shop 11/18/2002

I was at a local establishment the other day, and remarked on their arrangement. I learned that Zeze did their flowers. I was duly impressed, and got a copy of their card for future reference. I consider myself a lover of ""quality"". I don't like generic arrangements, a la a dozen roses, or a mixed bouquet of stuff like snapdragon, roses, carnations(!), freesia, etc. I like either Victorian type arrangements, or else really lush ones with peonies, mums, etc. I often like arrangements that incorporate fruit. This particular arrangement done by Zeze was in shades of peach, orange and red. The color combo was beautiful, and the ""flowers"" consisted of mums, cabbage, and even a tomato on a long stem! Just gorgeous. Please note my rating may be low, as I could only rate the Flower Quality. Everything else I gave a ""5"". Pros: quality of flowers more

rude attitude!!!! 11/4/2002

The shop is beautiful on the outside, but there is major attitude inside. Arrangements are overpriced and ordinary. more
