Synergy Fitness Clubs

I joined this gym because I was able to get a good MTM contract for relatively cheap. A couple months later, they raised the price on me and when I tried to dispute, I was treated very rudely. It gets even worse- when I tried to cancel, they were so snide and condescending. They told me I needed to send in CERTIFIED mail even though I live 2 blocks away and I can give it to them in person. ???!!!! This is the WORST experience. It's so transparent that these people are money hungry with no sense of customer service. Hello? Any brains at synergy? DO NOT JOIN. WORST GYM EVER. Pay a little more and join a nicer gym. STAY AWAY. Cons: Rude, money hungry staff, extremely difficult to cancel and will keep charging you more

On the one hand, it IS fairly cheap. Good if you don't want classes or a scene. Just basic weights and cardio. On the other hand, management is just indifferent to the appearance, equipment maintenance, etc. And if you have payment problems (overcharging, account freezes not activated for those on the monthly plan, etc.), management will pretend to help but nothing gets done. I originally joined Synergy because it was nearby and seemingly inexpensive. During the months of my membership I enjoyed that I could work out late at night and was mostly pleased with the services. However, the facilities were terrible, water leaks from innumerable pipes above you and plastic buckets scatter the facility to catch these mysterious drips. But the real nightmare began when I tried to cancel my membership the staff got downright hostile and withheld information from me about their cancelation procedures. They kept charging me months after I tried cancelling. This ongoing headache leaves me no choice but to warn potential clients that Synergy is not worth the hassle.
