After numerous recommendations and reading great reviews, I decided to hold my birthday party at Redemption this past weekend. I can only assume that this place has changed hands in the past few weeks or that they are rennovating, but something has changed dramatically.
First, even though I called a month in advance and checked a few weeks before, they had no record of a party coming in that night. They were recommended as a great place to have a private party, however, we were offered tables by the bar or half the section in the back... neither of which could comfortably sit 20 people nor were they anything close to private.
The first strange thing was that the menu online was different from the menu we received. Upon further investigation, the menus we received in the bar were for a pizza place down the street, and they had to deliver the food in to us, which took a very long time.
Upon scheduling the party, I was promised drink and food specials for my guests and told that the manager buys rounds, however all we received were half-priced margaritas and apple-tinis. No food specials. No rounds. Nothing.
On top of that, I was questioning whether the $10 drinks actually had any alcohol in them. Everyone mentioned that they tasted no alcohol and left 100% sober.
Also, for a bar that calls itself part sports bar, we were dissapointed to see that all the TVs could only display 1 channel. A sports bar is defined as a place that you can watch multiple sporting events at a time. Not so much here. There was also no DJ as advertised.
I can't complain about the service, as the waitress was very accomodating to our multiple requests.
The management of this bar must be to blame, as nothing was as promised. If things were changed, someone should have informed me of that when I planned my party.
I'm sure this is a great place to grab a drink, but DO NOT listen to the reviews about having a party here unless you want to walk away VERY dissapointed.
Pros: They tried
Cons: They failed
