Best groomed and best smelling company. 8/15/2011

I started going to Prestige Barber Shop about a year ago and all the guys in my engine company started making remarks about how good I smelled and stuff like that. Now they all go there. When they don’t smell like smoke with soot on their faces they are they best groomed and best smelling company that the FDNY has anywhere. Prestige Barber Shop is the best NYC barber. more

My next door neighbor in my building told me about Prestige Barber Shop when they first opened up a couple of blocks away. I have been going there ever since. I really like the owner Sasha and his crew. I get the VIP treatment and have since day one. There are no better barbers in midtown east and probably not in midtown at all. I hope that they stay in that location forever. more

Many places I have gone to get my haircut have one thing in common that I do not particularly care for. Because I do not have a lot of hair they treat me like I don't care how I look. They set the clipper on a certain position and buzz away. In a couple of minutes I am done and they rarely even hold up a mirror so I can see the back. That never happens in the Prestige Barber Shop. They take particular care in finishing around the edges and never try to hurry me. That is why I am still going there. more

Great and Outstanding service. 8/4/2011

I go to Prestige Barber Shop once every two weeks for not just a haircut and shave but for the social experience. There is very often lively conversation about sports or current events and you can often hear local gossip. The barbers are some of the best barbers in Manhattan. I have been going there for years and will continue to do so for years to come. more

Totally renewed. 7/29/2011

Going to the barber has become something that I really look forward to since I discovered Prestige Barber Shop in Midtown. Barbers in midtown are almost as scarce as gas stations and finding a good one that does not charge outrageous prices is ever rarer. When I leave there I feel like I have been totally renewed. I have never had more than a positive experience. more

I had gotten tired of going to these shops that cut my hair with a single clipper setting and never even used a razor on the back of my neck or did anything to make me smell good. If I wanted to sit and watch several different sports on TV all at once I would go to a bar. I wanted a real barber. Finally one day someone told me about Prestige Barber Shop on East 53rd. one of the last real Manhattan barber shops. I went there once and have never gone back to the sports barber. I got my shave and left smelling like I had been to the barber. I am so glad I found Prestige Barber Shop. more

There is a barber shop in Midtown east that is probably the best barbershop in midtown Manhattan. It is called Prestige Barber Shop and it is run by veteran, second generation barber, Sasha who has been cutting hair in NYC since he arrived from Moscow years ago. He is very attentive to the needs of his customers and makes sure that no one leaves without total satisfaction. If you like the tradition of a real barber shop you will love Prestige Barbers Shop; one of the best barbers in NYC. more

You can walk into Prestige Barber Shop and ask for any conceivable hair style you want. You could even get a Donald if you had enough time to grow all that. Just because they call themselves a barber they are still the best men’s hair salon in NYC. There is nothing that they can’t do. They have quite a few musicians as clients with really outlandish hair and they take it all in stride. From bankers to rockers people from all walks of life go there and for the same reason I do. They are that good. more

Undoubtedly the best barber shop. 7/11/2011

The experience of going to the barber to get a haircut is one that many young men have never had. They were dragged by their mothers at a young age to the hair salon to get a hair cut. When they got older they went to these clipper shacks where both men and women went. They never learned what it felt like to get shaved with a straight razor and dusted with great smelling powder. At Prestige Barber Shop that tradition still lives. They are undoubtedly the best barber shop in Midtown east but they may be the only one. more

Whenever I am in New York City I make a specialtrip to go to the best midtown east barber shop. It is a place called Prestige Barber Shop and it is located on E. 53rd. They are one of the few real barbershops in NYC that still hild on to the values and traditions that separate a real barbershop from one of those cutting mills. When you go there you get the complete treatment from the hot lather to the dusting with that great smelling powder. They are always cheerful and make sure they give you exactly what you came there for. When you leave you really feel like you got a treatment not just a haircut. I will make that special trip to go there every time I go through the Lincoln Tunnel. more

There is no better barber shop in Midtown east than Prestige Barber Shop. They not only do a great job they make a guy feel like a real guy. I am talking hot towels and straight razors. I am talking about great smelling talc and after shave lotion. There is nothing like leaving the shop and smelling so good you wish you were walking behind yourself. That is what you get when you get the best NYC haircut at Prestige Barber Shop on East 53rd. more

Of all the New York City barbershops there is one and only one that stands out among the rest. That one is Prestige Barber Shop on East 53rd in the midtown east section of Manhattan. They go the extra distance to make a man feel like he is getting the most attentive service in the industry. They still apply a hot towel and shave the back of your neck with a razor as part of the standard treatment. When you leave there you feel that you have received the best haircut in NYC and you probably have. more

Always looks so sharp when I see him. 6/13/2011

My brother always looks so sharp when I see him. It is, of course his clothes but also the way he looks so put together. Every hair is perfectly cut and in place without looking too stiff. I had to ask him where he went to get his hair cut. He told me Prestige Barber Shop. He said that they are the best barbers in midtown NYC. I decided to try them and I really liked the way I looked. I have been going to them every two weeks and people have noticed a difference. more

.I found this place on Google, I was desperate for a new hairstyle something different then the one that I usually get.I took a picture with me and they did there very best and it came out great they even gave me tips on how to keep my hair style.Great Barbers, Great Place, Great New York Prices. It is an unequalled feeling when you get a great haircut and a close shave and leave the place feeling great and confident. Confidence is very attractive to everyone and that is why you should always look your best. Even on your day off because you never know who you may meet. I was time for me to get a more conservative hairstyle as it was also time for me to look for a real job other than the one in the music store. I had my degree in business and was working on my masters on line. The hair needed to be tamed. I went to Prestige Barber Shop for the first time and I thought I would scare them when I told them what I wanted to do. It was not an issue at all. They turned my head into something that might look like it had some common sense inside of it. My friends made fun of me but they weren’t the ones to write my first paycheck. Besides my mother loved it. Prestige Barber Shop has to be the best barbershop in Midtown or even the best NYC Barbershop. more

I started going to Sasha from Prestige Barber Shop when he worked at a different location. Now that he owns his own shop I still go there and so do both my kids. You can't beat the professional old fashioned barber service that you get and at a very reasonable cost. I will be a customer for as long as he is still there on East 53rd giving the best haircut in New York City. more

I will never rely. 6/5/2011

If someone told me I would be willing to take the subway from Prince St. to Midtown just to get my haircut I would have said they were crazy. But when it is the best barbershop in Midtown it is well worth the trip. I have been a regular customer since the place opened and go every two week to get a great shave and haircut. They always make me feel like I have been reborn when I am done. There is always plenty of great conversation and they make even the new customers feel right at home. I will never rely on any other place to get a haircut in NYC. more

Great job in giving me a new look!!! 6/1/2011

I have had a full beard for as long as anyone can remember. I have never allowed anyone to trim it because the one time I did the person messed it up badly. One day while I was getting my hair cut at Prestige Barber Shop in NYC the barber who was cutting my hair talked me into letting him do it. He did such a great job in giving me a new look without making it to short that I now allow him and only him to trim my beard. more
