Still going strong 3/19/2006

Live bait is a New York institution that in the eighties was always filled with a mix of punks and suits having beers (albeit not together). Who cares if there are better places for Southern food and BBQ in the city? It's a stop you must make at least once, and chances are you'll have such a good time there, you'll go back. Food is decent, service is decent -- it's a no fuss, no muss, good for groups sot of thing. more

The name is wrong 3/17/2006

(It is to me, at least)but who cares? I thought that this was going to be a seafood place, but it serves BBQ and other down home southern style fare. It's a lively place, too. None of this hush hush while you're eating stuff. I like that and eating this kind of food makes you want to kick your heels up a bit, you know? The drinks are good, too. Good time all around. more

Hanging at Live Bait 2/24/2005

Modeled after a bayou style shack, Live Bait is a good place to grab a snack or a drink. The bar area in the front is good for a you and a friend while the tables in the back provide space for larger groups. A good place for an after work drink with friends. more

Fun, local hangout with good burgers and beer 2/18/2005

Live Bait has become one of my local hangouts after work or to catch up with some friends. They have a nice supply of beer and drinks and if you get there after the typical Happy Hour, it is not too crowded... Enjoy it! more
