Koby absolutely knows how to cut hair to flatter different face shapes and provide a the ""look"" you are seeking. I have long, straight hair, and Koby has given me the most creative cuts without sacrificing the length. I constantly receive compliments on my hair after I leave the salon. I recently started coloring my hair, and he is the only one I would trust. After moving away for a year, the first thing I did when I recently got back was make an appointment with Koby! more

Great salon, awesome stylists! 4/10/2011

Ok, so technically I have only been to one of the stylists at this salon, but I did meet Koby (hot) and I was also checked in by the friendliest (and cute) receptionist. I had my haircut by Lindsay Wachs and she did an amazing job. I was long overdue for a haircut and she gave me a healthy trim and some great style. She made me feel very comfortable and at ease, and I left the salon feeling like a million bucks. I have been getting compliments ever since! I highly recommend this salon! more

I recently visted Koby for the first time after being referred by my father, who is almost 40 years older than me. We both agree that Koby is the perfect stylist for all ages. He puts time and care into each client and after going to Koby, we would never go anywhere else. Pros: best haircut more

I've followed Koby for 8 years! 8/9/2009

I was fortunate enough to meet Koby in 2001 when he moved to the States and I've followed him for 8 years. The first time he cut my hair, I felt as though I just came from having an extreme makeover! I am still wowed by his ability to make women look beautiful. His cuts are amazing. I now have long hair, but years ago went to a shoulder length cut with Koby and husband was so amazed at the result. Koby is a true artist and not to mention easy on the eyes with a pleasant personality! Since meeting him, I had my haircut by 2 other people when I was out of the area and had no choice and no one compares to Koby. By high end NYC standards, his pricing is reasonable for someone so talented. I will never let anyone touch my hair again! Pros: Perfect Cuts, Reasonable Pricing more

I only get my hair cut a couple of times a year. No one has ever given me a cut I like at all; in fact I usually leave most salons in tears. That's all changed with Koby! He's given my straight, limp hair a shape and texture. It even holds a curl which is something I thought impossible! I feel amazing and have received many compliments, most importantly from my boyfriend who feels like he has a brand new girlfriend :) If you are ready to realize your hair's maximum potential, call Koby Pros: he knows what he's doing more

A very talented Koby! 2/18/2009

Prior to knowing Koby, I had been seeing the same hair stylist for 6 years. My previous stylist was good and very consistent, but instead of jumping at the opportunity to create something fantastic, she always worked strictly under her clients' direction. I needed to know if I was missing out on looking and feeling my best. As it turns out, I was missing out on something (someone) very talented.\r \r The first time I sat in Koby's chair, I was very open-minded and gave him free reign to create anything he wanted. We first had a good conversation about my lifestyle, personality and current hair style. Koby took everything into consideration and provided me with a cut and color that complimented my overall being, and gave life back to my naturally wavy hair. I went from a brassy blonde with longer locks, to a beautiful soft light blonde with highlights and an unbelievable shorter cut. The transformation was amazing.\r \r Koby's focus isn't to recreate the latest runway look (although he could if you wanted him to); rather, it is to create a unique look that flatters YOU most. He listens intently and provides you with very honest feedback -- much appreciated.\r \r I've seen Koby twice now, and will be booking my next appointment shortly. Koby is the best! 2/13/2009

I went to see Koby in 2005 when I needed a change. I did extensive research on city search and saw the rave reviews about him. My hair was damaged with all the straightening I did to it. I missed my curls and Koby promised to bring them back. Well, bring them back he did! While sitting in the chair I started to see my hair respond after the second cut he made. By the end of the session, my hair looked amazing! Everyone noticed. For the first time in my life I hugged my hair stylist. I followed Koby everywhere. Even while I went to Washington, DC for 2 years. Now Koby cuts and dyes my hair. I was worried about coloring, especially since I have never colored my hair before. Since I trusted Koby and wanted to get rid of my white hair, I let him do his magic and was not disappointed. I recommend Koby to everyone. If you are looking for a change go to Koby. If you want to be happy with your hair, go to Koby. If you want to know what it is like to have you hair cut by a person who truly understands how hair behaves, while taking into account the person's lifestyle and shape of face and coloring, go to Koby. You really should look no further. I never write reviews, but felt it was time because Koby really is an amazing hair stylist and colorist. I Have a New Style... 9/23/2008

Who is that beauty in the mirror? \r \r Well, it's me. \r \r Really? \r \r REALLY!!\r \r I moved here in June and had my hair done at a ""salon"" which i will not utter it's name. OUCH!!! The buzz didn't live up to it's hype, if you know what I mean. Went back and had my precious hair salvaged by another stylist but when the time came to wash the summer out of it, I needed another option. I could NOT risk it again.\r \r Enter Serenity into my life. Such a sleek modern space. Immediately I felt like I was in for something special. I would not be disappointed.\r \r Never have I felt so pampered. Koby?s was highly recommended to me by a friend (thanks Cindy). All my friends were going to Koby for years but I hesitated because I was satisfied with my current salon...up until my hairdresser gave me a really bad cut and I finally gave in. Koby did an amazing job fixing my hair and since then I've left his salon with a great cut and color ever since. He's a wonderful person and very talented. You will feel very comfortable trusting him with your hair and to top it off, he always comes up with new and different styles so you never get bored. GO NOW! more

A changed woman! Don't walk...RUN to Koby @ Serenity 7/30/2008

I have not had my hair cut by a professional in 15 years...not since the traumatizing hack job done in the early 90's. BUT, after seeing a friend's hair and how unbelievably beautiful it looked...even in 90% humidity in Ocean City...I knew it was time to try again. I'm so glad I did. Koby is truly gifted! His ease and confidence ( without any cockiness ) made me relax and enjoy the process. He showed me how to style it at home in under 5 minutes to end up with the best, sexiest hair I've ever had. He has absolutely changed my life....I finally....FINALLY love my curly hair. Don't walk. Run to Serenity for Koby!!! more

He's the best 6/29/2008

I've been a client of Koby's for awhile. The best thing about Koby is that he knows exactly what style looks good for you. It's a scary thing to just let go and trust someone to change your look but everytime Koby does his thing the result is always a success. I stopped going to him for a couple of years due in part to relocating an hour south of NYC. For two years I had lousy hair cuts. I was so fed up I decided to make the one hour trip into the city. It was worth it. I'm just an average looking guy but I do seem to get alot more looks from women after Koby fixes me up. He's definitly in tune with what's hip and with what's in. Don't waste your time or money anywhere else. Get over to Serenity. more

Outstanding! 6/18/2008

Koby is a truly gifted hairstylist! I've lived in Manhattan 7 months and have already been to 3 other highly regarded salons and left every one feeling like no one knows what they are doing. Just when I was feeling desperate to find someone that knows how to cut hair, I found this site and discovered Koby. Before he told me what his recommendations were, he asked me what I wanted. I went with his recommendations and have had more complements than with any cut before. I will definitely recommend him and continue to go to him for all future services Pros: very nice ambience and location more

Amazing haircuts you won't regret 6/2/2008

Like some of the reviewers here, I?ve been shopping around for a hairstylist and have never returned to the same one. And then I found Koby, who I will definitely return to. He really listens to what you want and is honest with you on what styles will compliment you and/or work against you. And the haircut he gives amazingly brings forth your beauty and sexiness without clashing with your personality, style, and comfort. I have Asian straight hair and gotten bobs for the past four summers. So of course, I?ve gotten bored with it, but that is all hairstylists have recommended. I wanted something a bit funky and different. Koby recognized that bobs are the best cuts for my face and personality and was able to breathe more life, fun, creativity, sexiness, and just enough funkiness into my new and improved bob (it is shorter on one side and longer on the other, but looks like a classic bob from the back). I?ve gotten numerous compliments on the street and at work. And I don?t have to style it at all! I just shower and run off. Whether you are looking for something new and innovative and exciting or something a bit more classic, I definitely recommend Koby. more

Best hairdresser in existance 5/11/2008

Koby has literally changed my life, its so funny that a hair cut could do that to a person, but what I mean is simply that this man knows beauty and to translate it to a woman. Like a piece of artwork can be enhanced with a beautiful frame, a face can be enhanced by hair framing the face. Koby looks at each individual person and sees what frame works well with that face, and then with his scissors translates it into reality.\r \r I have been stopped on the street from strangers wanting to know who cut my hair, and complementing the haircut in a million different ways. My friends have simply told me that my haircut is a reflection of my personality, that Koby has found a way to bring out me in my hair style. (and its easy to manage, too!)\r \r Koby is just that good at what he does, he knows how to use what people naturally are born with and creates a magical art. \r \r Oh and I said to him when he asked if what I wanted: ""I give you full artistic liberties"" and I highly recommend that YOU do the same. :) more

Finally, I love my hair! 4/6/2008

I've been shopping around for a good hairstylist for years. Actually, in retrospect, my whole life. Koby is not just good, he is a truly gifted stylist. Sure, his technique is flawless, but it seems as if his real talent lies in being able to visualize what will look good on you. His vibe is relaxed and calming. Just let him do whatever he wants. You won't be disappointed. He gave me a modern, easy to style cut that I would have never thought to ask for. I have never, ever received so many compliments. Life is good. \r \r more

I have been getting my hair cut with koby for the past 3 years. he's not only got a great eye but superb technique. before koby, any hair cut I would get, I would always leave feeling unsatisfied. I no longer have that problem. he knows what style looks good for my face shape and fashion style. you can never go wrong with koby! he is worth every penny! more

I think the countless five-star reviews are a testament to Koby's amazing abilities - I have been going to Koby for over 3 years and won't trust anyone else with my hair. His cuts are truly fantastic and I'm always receiving compliments on the style wherever I go. The best part is that the cuts maintain their shape as they grow and he cuts the hair in such a way that it looks the same even when I do it myself! My haircuts require very little ""upkeep"" and always look amazing until the next time I pay him a visit. He's always coming up with unique and different cuts for me, and I trust that every time I come I'll leave with an amazing hair cut! Thanks Koby!! :) Pros: everything more

Koby came highly recommended by a friend who is quite a critic. Koby is not just a stylist he is an innovator who truly understands hair. He has amazing ideas and posses the innate ability to bring his visions to fruition. Though I was a bit skeptical about getting a new cut, Koby's easygoing personality made me feel at ease and I couldn't be happier with my new look.
