Biggest waste of money ever! Club? more like Dud 9/22/2008

Let me just say I looked on this site to plan my B-Day and saw the reviews of this club and I was hooked. Well besides that I reserved three tables with bottle service and had to wait outside on line until the majority of my party came 25+ people... my whole group had to be carded 5 times before we got in! Finally lets get to it! Wrong... I order three bottles which turn out to be,, thats right more then was told to me when I was planning. Next after we get the bottles they try... keyword try... to take one of our tables for another party.... They tried to skimp out on the free champagne... then charged ten bucks service fee.... " Wycliff Champagne?" ...couldnt be more than 6 bucks in a liquor store.... No one could leave to smoke... couldn't smoke in there... Zero AC.... couldn't dance in there because they pack it in so badly like sardines. Good music so dj's props.. but the only other thing that was interesting that night is the people bangin each other on the rafters.... lets just say 11-2am and 1200 less.... we peaced that shiot hole! DONT GO THERE UNLESS YOU LIKE LOW CLASS, SECOND RATE, WANNA BE, MEGA CLUBS... SAVE THE ENTRANCE FEE AND JUST GO TO THE DMV CAUSE ITS ABOUT AS FUN AS THAT! Pros: NOW I KNOW HOW BAD IT IS! THANK GOD ITS OVER! Cons: EVERYTHING... SOME ONE SHOULD BURN IT DOWN! more

Show up early! 9/4/2008

Me and my guest had free admission unill midnight. We were saved on the cover charge by about 10min. Once we entered we where welcomed with free drinks(open bar). We returned to the bar to find out it was only good till midnight. The music was really good but make sure you find out in advace what the nigth consist of because i was not aware of the fact that it was mostly reggae. The DJ did mix it up for a while and i was even able to get a request of 2 house songs i really like. The pricing was avarage and the drinks were very consistant when it came to liquor. Towards the end of the night we made our way upstairs to the mezzanine area which was packed! Overall i would say that i had a really awesome time trying something different than the old dive bars. Pros: No cover on guestlist, drinks, diversity, DJ's Cons: Parking, long entry lines, crowded bar more

Best Dance Club in New York City! 9/2/2008

O.M.G. only in New York City can you find a place like this?. My boys and I were visiting NYC and heard about Element, what we got was a night to remember. Manhattan is full of clubs and most of the time the door men just stare at you when you say you want to get in but NOT at Element. They treated us like VIP baby (even though we weren?t) and they let us right in. Once we paid a small cover it was like entering heaven as the door?s opened, there were SO many girls...there were like 5 girls for every guy!!! The music was awesome too. I?m not sure where they got this guest DJ but he played the best mix of music I?ve ever heard. He mixed house with hip-hop and top 40 which I?ve never hear and it was cool and fun to dance to. I also liked how they free pour my drinks. Most clubs you pay crazy amounts of money for barely any alcohol, which burnes a whole in you pocket fast, but here they poured them just how I like them ? strong and were fairly cheap too. If you?re in NYC check this place out cuz they now how to party!!! Pros: Go on Fri. & Sat. right after the male revue for the hottest girls!! more

Great club! 8/16/2008

I just turned 31 and wanted a drama free, dance all night have a great time with a group of friends, without my wallet getting abused with the expensive hype clubs. So after alot of research I noticed alot of great reviews, I ended up picking element because of the so many positive reviews. I must say that I was lucky as all of the other's where, I had such a great time. We got there around 10:30 and the lady with the board came out asking for bday people (bottle service). We waited only a few minutes in the VIP line, and got escorted by someone to our seats inside the club. The waitress brought a champagne right away (free with the bday package, and was pretty good) However they held onto my credit card and id for the entire night (be careful!). I was able to retrieve it back no problem at the end of the night, but dont forget they have it! We had very cool seats, but space was a little tight with the other bday people, however nobody eventually was sitting in there seats after an hour because the dance floor was always full. The music, awesome!!!! I loooooved it, so great, so diverse! Nice classy people, no teeny bobbers, it was interesting because there were alot of Asians there. There was no hassle, waitress and waiter treated us very nice! I reallly enjoyed this experience all the way!! The club a little small, however if your looking just to have a good time dancing, this is the place. If you want to get lost in a mega club, not for you. One of my friends came late after 12 and they had to pay $20.00, but all of us that got there before 12 free. I had a genuine, drama free, excellent customer service, dancing all night night! Thanks Element, the reviews are all real! Pros: Great Music Cons: Tight seating more

release some caribbean dancing 7/1/2008

I went on a friday night and had no regrets. I was all prepared to dance the night away and I did. The mix drinks were not great. My motto was proven right again female bartenders slack with making good tasting drinks to other females so I stuck with the male bartender. Boy did he get paid that night.smiling.The ambience was a different setting from the normal clubs I 've been to, variety of cultures attended(good), well dressed male/females. I had no problem with the bouncers, matter of fact there was a cutie there.smiling. Place to go when you want to shake your booty, drink and be tired in the morning. Pros: ambience, variety of caribbean Cons: mix drinks more

Thank you for everything 5/24/2008

You guys totally saved me for my best friends birthday. I was scrambling last week to find a place to go and when I came across your birthday promotion on the website I was sceptical at first but it was everything you said. Free to get in for the whole party, free bottle of champagne and our own table. I know I kept asking how much is it and what's the catch - sorry for being a pain. When we arrived the door girl found us in line and brought us right past everybody in to our table. Then the champagne came with a big sparkler. The club is awesome. Everyone had a blast. I love you guys! Pros: Birthday party is the best Cons: None for me :-) more

Freakin Awesome!!! 5/23/2008

This place has got to be the hottest spot in the city at this point! We went on a Saturday and they had just finished a show for bachelorettes so the place was packed with ladies. The music was a mix of Hip Hop, Rock, R&B, Top 40 - Good dance music all night. Sound system was perfect and the lights and space are amazing. We ended up getting a bottle so we could have access to the VIP section in the upstairs balcony. Bottle prices wer very reasonable - a bit less than the meatpacking prices, I guess because they are on the Lower East Side. Anyway, a great night out with a great vibe! Pros: Great music, crowd, service Cons: A bit crowded on the dance floor more

WORST PLACE 5/18/2008

DO NOT GO TO THIS CLUB. IF YOU LIKE WAITING IN THE RAIN FOR AN HOUR TO GET INTO AN EMPTY CLUB THEN BY ALL MEANS GO. THE BOUNCERS WERE RUDE. THE MUSIC WAS HORRIBLE, WHAT A WASTE OF TIME. FOR ALL THE MONEY MY FRIENDS AND I SPENT THERE, SERVICEWAS HORRIBLE. STAY AWAY! more

Best NightClub in the City! 5/17/2008

Dear Element just wanted to commend you for the wonderful work you guys do, I've been to other popular bachelorette party destinations in NYC and you guys are by far the best, the club is beautiful, the drinks were strong and well mixed, the staff was very accommodating, courteous, polite and even the manager brought out a sparkling bottle of champagne for us on the house. Although the place was packed to capacity everyone seemed to be having a great time. I brought a group of 15 women to the Hunkamania show last night for my best friend's bachelorette party and you guys made it special for every member of the bride?s family from her grandmother-in-law, to her mother-in-law, and of course the beautiful bride to be. Everyone was so nice from the gentleman who answered the phones before the show, to the dancers, and even the waiters. I just wanted to thank you and I will certainly be recommending other girlfriends to visit Element and plan future events with you guys. We definitely had a better time than the groom and his buddies did on his bachelor party and your show was definitely a lot better than theirs. This is the best one stop bachelorette party and club dancing experience anywhere...If I were a guy I wouldn't even want to go anywhere else cause when the show ended the place was swarmed with gorgeous women. Again, I can?t say thank you enough but I will say thank you by referring you to many many more brides to be and any girls who just want to have a fun girls? night out. Take care and keep up the good work! Sincerely, Elizabeth H. Pros: The service, the music, the drinks and the Hunkamania show! Cons: The long lines more

AVOID Element -- AWFUL and RUDE service! 5/3/2008

This place is AWFUL! The people at the door are so rude that it was shocking. I have lived in NYC for 7 years and as a woman, have not received such rude treatment, not even at some of the more exclusive clubs in meatpacking! I also think the $25 cover is very steep. It was pretty late (around 2am) when my 2 friends and I arrived, yet they insisted that we still had to pay the cover even though we were not going to stay that long. As we were deciding what we were going to do, one of the bouncers told us we could not stand there and told us to go out in the rain to figure things out (even though there was no one in the entrance and we were not blocking anyone). SO RUDE!! more

Bootie Party at The Vault 3/23/2008

I had my birthday party here this past weekend and my head is still spinning. The dj's and music is AMAZING!They totally hooked me up. My friends and I had our own little room right next to the dance floor with a velvet rope, free cd's and chocolates. The carpet guy is a freak!!! Realized he was real when he smiled at me once I started walking on his crotch in 4 inch stilettos. Definately a night to remember. To bad the party's only once a month. Can't wait to go there again though. Pros: music and dancing more

Beautiful Club 3/21/2008

I have been to most of the clubs in the city and I am still stunned every time I go back to element. It's so tastefully done and it's one of the few places that still has that big dance floor feeling. It seems like most of the nights are themed in some way which is good for me because I like all kinds of music but you might want to check the website to see what's going on before you go. I've been to a bunch of good parties there - everything from reggea to house to hip hop and rock. Pros: Beautiful space, really good staff more

birthday booking. awesome time! 1/2/2008

I celebrated my birthday here in mid-December with over 20 friends, and we had an amazing time. The staff was very friendly, and they really took care of us. As I was planning my party beforehand, they emailed me clear-cut information that made everything run all the smoother. The security check at the entrance was pretty intense but that was definitely a very good thing. Lots of dance space on the main floor; the basement dance floor was a great intimate alternative. But Element seems to host a lot of themed events, so you?ll definitely want to coordinate your event with their calendar ? just to avoid unexpected surprises (in music, crowd, dress, etc.). All in all, it was a great place to have a party. Thanks for an awesome time! Pros: Service +++ more

you'd rather be punched in the face then be go to this place 1/1/2008

Just giving fair warning to the next unsuspecting customer to enter this place, for the most part it is a complete rip off. I went there for New Years Eve and as soon as we got in there was a mandatory coat check of a $10 fee for every person there. The club was extremely crowded, which was expected, but what really ruined it was the fact that the bartender was the worst i have ever seen. AFter waiting for 20 min. and then being brushed off, as if i just wanted to say hi to this guy, i had to wait an additional 5-10 mins. to finally get a drink that was equivalent to about half a shot or as my friend had, a beer that was foamed over the top so it was equivalent to a quarter of a beer. the woman bartender was much much better but combined with the other bartender still resulted in horrible service. Don't go to this place unless you are completly trashed, it's not worth the time/money or hassel. O yea and at midnight the ball wasn't shown dropping, instead a still picture was portrayed on the screen of something that i really couldn't care less about..... good times. Pros: music Cons: 10 fee for MANDATORY coat check, Weak Drinks, over priced, crowded more

Worst Club experience ever!! 12/28/2007

My friends and I decided to check out this club on a friday night. We checked out the place online, found good reviews and very nice pictures. Well, I'm just going to say, When I got there I thought I was going to a real club. As soon as I walked in the place,I was very dissapointed. The pictures we saw online looked nothing like this place. The place looked really cheap, cheesy, and dirty. Only two rude bartenders that looked like they had just rolled out of bed (bartenders wearing cheap jeans and black hoodies?? It cost $25 to get in, $44 for 3 drinks.. The music choice and the sound system? HORRIBLE!! Not to mention that when the DJ started playing better music, it was interrupted by some ugly chick on stage who swore she was so cool and kept on screaming hurting everyones ears. If all this was not bad enough, the crowd was very young and not good looking at all...I also think they let anybody in no matter how old they are.. There was this little girl (she looked 15yo) who kept on grinding and making out with everybody on stage, including a disgusting old lady who looked like a nasty gradma and I'm not exaggerating! ( trying to use acceptable words). At that point we were so grossed out by that place we had to leave. It was like witnessing some nasty scene from a movie showing the nastiest, lowest class people ever!! With the money you will spend at this place you can go to a real club! Pros: none Cons: price, atmosphere, bad service, small place, bad music, list goes on and on more

too crowded, bad drinks 12/22/2007

i had a b*day party here on a sat. I must say i was confused when i got to the place. it was nothing like i imagined, it was crowded & small the guys were soo not attractive. music was not diverse they only played like 3 songs in spanish and then continued with the hip hop. We only got the table for like a minute and then was requested to purchase 2 bottles for about 275-500 to remain their the rest of the night. oh not to mention it smelled baaaad omg.. dont even bother going here. the bartender didn't know how to make a jolly rancher type drink, then made a martini for me and it was awful. Their pictures are very deceiving not large place at all. Pros: free Champagne Cons: too crowded, bad drinks, not varied music just hip hop more

Well, that was quick 10/29/2007

So, I have a friend coming in from VA who loves to dance, so I decide to take him somewhere nearby where I live, and seeing the great reviews of this place, let's go. I email the club to get us on the list, since we'll be there early, anyway, and not even 15 minutes later I get a response "confirmed on list til 12, can't wait to party with you". So that's a great start. And also where the positivity ended. Arrived at 11:40, a line of no more than 12 people, talked to the hostess and confirmed that we were on the list, but would still have to wait in line. She told me to talk to the cashier if we had any issue about having to pay. So the bouncer let's three girls in, hey, no problem...except that they were the trashiest girls I've ever seen...and I'm from NJ, so that says it a lot. Of course at 12:05 we get in, and are handed a ticket to give to the cashier...I know this scam....Of course the cashier tells me, "$20 each"" I tell the cashier that the hostess told us we'd still get in for free, since we checked in with her. "No...it's when you get to the cashier, not when you get on line." I find the hostess, who says, well, we gave you reduced admission ticket, it's normally $25 per person. Hmmmmm, your website says $20 for guys before 1am. Reduced admission my @$$. If this is how you scam people on the outside, I'm not even bothering to go in. Many other options in the neighborhood...good night. I mean seriously, do I look like an idiot? Pros: none Cons: tried to scam me at the door more

Best Sat Party In Town! 9/25/2007

I had never been to the club untill i saw a poster outside and decided to check out the joint. After Sat night dinner i made my way over & went to the upstairs part of the club, by mistake. I ended up paying a higher admission fee. Once i explained to the cashier that i went to the wrong floor i was given my money back! I then arrived downstairs, walked around checked out the scene which was somewhat artsy, chic, and classy late 20's early 30's which i was glad to see. The live band rocked and the DJ sets inbetween where something different (Excellant). I like the dark Speakeasy feel to it which still makes it something worth checking out before the crowds show up. Pros: Live Band, Dark Loungy Look, Good Meeting Place Cons: Hidden Entrance, Hidden Bathrooms? more

desnr02 9/24/2007

I was there on a Friday night to celebrate a B-Day party. It was free admission before midnight so I rushed, only to have a line waiting for me. Luckily my friend put me and my boyfriend on the clubs list so we where saved (No Cover)! The bouncers where really nice which is uncommon in NYC. They asked if we had a table reserved which we had no clue so they asked for the b-day name and the next thing we knew the Manager (Louis) walked us in towards my friends table. I made it just in time to see the sparkling champagne celebration. The highlight of the night was when my boyfriend went to pick up the tab and the waitress mentioned it was complimentary as a birthday gift. We then headed towards the upstairs we began to party and enjoy ourselves. The music was diverse enough to get us boogieing, the drinks a bit pricey but tastefully done. Good service, nice crowd and great party. Pros: Music, Crowd, B-Day Package Cons: Long Line, Parking more

Awesome Birthday Bash! 9/14/2007

I booked a birthday party for my friend last Friday - got comp admission for all 6 of us, a vip table in the fire lounge and a comp bottle of Champagne - and no pressure to buy more bottles. The place is super high-end with killer sound and lighting. We had planned to go out bar hopping later but ended up staying all night and buying bottles and we were all blown away when mini-cupcakes and martini glasses full of strawberries were brought to the table. I didn't realize this level of service existed in the city. I'm not sure what the other nights are like but when we were there the place was filled up by 1:30 and the girls way outnumbered the guys. Definitely a top pick - and I should know - I am the original PARTYMAN! Pros: Great birthday package Cons: Spent 1/2 hour looking for parking in the neighborhood - then found out they had valet more

  • Rich golden spotlights illuminate the classical building--and the club's lines winding around the intersection of Essex and Houston. Through the door are two choices: the thick of the soaring-ceilinged dance pit, or the spacious open mezzanine, where often-famous DJs spin from a catwalk podium and bystanders survey the action below. The understated elegance of texturized metals and painted woods is lost on the grooving masses, but is most apparent at Vault, the offshoot lounge downstairs.
