Fantastic place! 5/10/2006

I started going to De Nova about 3 years ago. It was recommended to me by a concierge at the St Regis hotel. Just that alone should explain why I highly recommend it myself.. It is a very friendly and warm environment to be in . All the girls are very sweet and caring. Besides that, they are all very professional and have years of experience. This is a place where you will get one of the best facials you ever had. I come to New York couple of time a month and always get my facials there. I love to get my manicure and pedicure there as well, these are the ones that last me the longest. If you looking for a great spa in NYC , you should deffenetly go to De Nova and see for yourself. more

What a great SPA 5/10/2006

I've been a client of De Novo for a long time and was just browsing citysearch and stumbled upon De Novo and read their last review. It says that everything is Horrible. I'm sorry but for the past 3 years I've been going here I have nothing but praise for this place. The staff is very helpfull, decor is very nice and cozy and the service is great. You really get personal attention and 100% from the staff. Whoever wrote the review obviously could not keep their emotions stable and went off of their feelings. I personally recommend this spa to anyone who wants a genuinely relaxing time. Oh and Im taking my mother there for Mothers Day for a side by side massage. Pros: staff, service, decor more

Lovely Time 5/9/2006

Went there two days ago and I walked out happier than ever. The staff was incredibly kind especially Ilona. She did my facial and body massage. She's professional and is nice to talk too. I highly recommend to anyone, i've already told my friends and co-workers. more

What the amazing expirience 8/30/2005

My friend recomended "De Novo" and I went for "Optimizer Yon-ka Facial" Nicole was superb,gentle,she has an amaizing hands and result unbelivable.My skin looks much younger,plamer and you can see lifting effects.I purchase "Yon-ka Optimizer" cream and fluid to use at home - the best product I ever used.I got so many complements about my skin.De Nova - definitely the place to relax and get result,they have me as a client for life. What an experience!!!! 7/18/2005

The service was great!! I was very relaxed. I had a glass of wine and forgot I was even in Manhattan! There is nothing better then an old fashion European facial... my skin felt amazing! I started coming to De Novo as soon as it opened a few years ago and I can say its the Best Spa ! Any services I get there are best guality and girls are so nice too, I feel like home . more

Great time!!! 7/15/2005

I came by DeNovo while walking cross town. I had a brazilian bikini it was a completely painless, quick and neat job. The person that did it was Ilona she is totally professional and made a unpleasant procedure into an easy one . During this process she explained to me about Le Grand Classic Yon-Ka facial. I tried it and it was the best facial I ever had. Ilona made a very nice extraction and face massage. I'm sure I'll come back to her soon. Highly recommended. more

Terrible Experience 7/3/2005

The owner of this salon is incompetent. She messed up my booking twice for a package I received as a gift and then tried to tell me that I had already received the services! The staff is very nice, but both times I went to redeem my package I had an unpleasant, less than relazing experience and in the end paid for services I never received. more

CHEATS PEOPLE 7/2/2005

both my sister and i were given queen for a day packages. We made an appt and showed up to find that the owner had booked too many people we agreed to get part of the package and come back another day. when we came back we showed her the certificates where she had written what was left of the package, she insisted that because she did not sign it we were lying. after we graciously agreed to come back another day she cheated us out of our treatments which had already been paid for. DON'T GO HERE!!!!!! Cons: incompetent more

i am a very loyal customer of de novo and there is a reason why. i've tried almost every service they offer and find it outstanding, the prices are great and people who work in de novo are very knowlegable and pleasant. they do an AMAZING bikini wax, no matter who you go to - it's almost completely painless and always very fast. i suggested de novo to my friends and numberous of them became just as loyal as i am. more

Best Couple Treatment 2/25/2005

I came here with my boyfriend. This was gift from me to him on his B-Day, so I really wanted things to go well. It was a very romantic experience. The hot stone massage was unbelieavable, the grand classique yon ka facial, the best facial I have ever had. Besides giving great service, the staff was very helpful and attentive. My boyfriend and I were thrilled with the spa and would recommend this spa for a great, relaxing experience. Pros: Nice Staff, Great Service, Great atmoshere Cons: No Parking more

Great Experience 2/23/2005

I went to this spa on a Saturday with 2 of my other girlfiends. I really don't know what all the bad reviews are about. I have been to many spas here in the city and De Novo is truly to me a hidden jewel. When I came out of the spa I felt like a new woman. We all had a Queen for a day with a couple extras. There was no waiting time in between services and the staff really knows how make your day enjoyable. I would recommend this spa to anybody that really wants to have relaxing spa experience without some of the outreageous prices. Pros: Knoweldgable Staff, Not Pricey, Cute Decor more

Not worth your time or money 2/23/2005

I was looking forward to a relaxing facial, but ended up feeling like I was listening to a sales pitch while trying to unwind. The actual facial was average, but the woman tried to sell me products throughout the whole process! Once paying at the end, I was again accosted about all of the products that I needed and told to come back every few weeks. I would not recommend going to De Novo for a relaxing facial procedure! The good stuff - very good at confirming our appt's, the small spa was organized and the staff was nice The annoying parts - the selling of products during our facials never ended, everything seemed to be "extra" including extractions, there were not any robes (a group of us had 3 hour packages) or a waiting room inbetween services, the music was distracting and annoying and the treatments ended much earlier than they were scheduled for. I would skip this spa, there are others in NYC that offer more value added services. Pros: Available Appts. Cons: Pushing Products, Short Services, Noisy more

Loved this spa. 4/1/2004

I went to this spa a few days ago on recommendation of a few friends that are already clients and extremely happy with service and staff. So I decided to go myself. At first when I got there they offered me wine, which was nice it helped me relax. I then went ahead into the room with Ilona for a massage. I got the hot stone massage, this was the most amazing feeling of relaxation I have ever had. Ilona is great. I like it so much that I bought a package, which if you go a a certain # of times you get free stuff. Overall I could feel anymore confident and happy with this spa. My friends love Lana, they say she does the best threading and also they love Galina's brazilian wax. Can't wait to try everything. Pros: Friendly, Pleasant Staff, Knowledgable more

De Novo Spa is where I come to pamper myself after a stressful day. Facials and massages are relaxing and rejuvenating and in my experience, this is the best place for waxing. Lana is fantastic and so are the other girls at the spa. My friend, who is an old customer, bought me the trial package for my birthday and I am not a bit sorry I spent my whole day there. I had the most relaxing time Ive head in months!! Even in my yoga classes, I couldnt relax more. My personal favorite: Yon-ka facial and Chocolate pedicure. OH, MY GOSH!! Its a must!!! The staff is super-nice and professional, so Im not sure if a girl who didnt have a pleasant experience talk about the same place. In any case, I WILL BE BACK. Do Not Recommend 3/12/2004

I went to this spa for my birthday hoping to find some relaxation as well as a little bit of pampering. Instead the staff here was rude and extremely pushy trying to sell me just about any product they could find. The three ladies that took care of me all tried to push additional products and services, and when I declined they began to criticize me and insist that I must have the additional services done. I was very frustrated because I wanted to lay down and relax, I didn't want someone talking to me during the massage let alone try to sell me anything. Lana is Excellent 10/3/2003

Lanna at De Novo gives an excellent facial. She is meticulous with the extractions and gives a fantstic massage. The products are sensative and smell great. The load piano music leaves something to be desired. I will ask them to turn it down next time. I got an appointment right away though and did not have to wait! more
