Before Meeting Fred, Haircut time was a dread. I used to leave too much artistic license in the hands of former stylists and barbers I had visited, hoping they could arrive at something that worked well. But how often did I walk away simply wanting to buzz off my new haircut with electric shears and settle on the sparsity of the blunt penal dew. Fred has been cutting my hair for years now and I typically only visit him every 3-4 months. I have straight. fine textured hair with some feral cowlicks in the back but I swear he layers it so expertly that his work endures and looks great well beyond the time frame of any cut I've ever gotten from any of his peers. He is also a delightful conversationalist and attentive listener, if you like to yabber in the chair as I do. Schedule a cut with him today. It is $$$ well spent. more

Fred's a hair genius! 5/11/2012

I have very frizzy, thick long hair. I keep it long so I can pull it back. When I first came to Fred we discussed how I really like to wear my hair for work. I'm in the advertising business, working long hours filming commercials and don't have a lot of time but to pull it all back off my face. Most hairdressers want to give me a style, and it looks nice when I leave them, but not when I have to do it everyday. Fred created a look for me so that when I throw my hair back, I still have soft curls around my face so it's not severe. I don't have to do one thing but wash it and pull it back, and yet it looks beautiful around my face. I also love that I can go to him on an off hour as my scheedule is so crazy. Fred is the real deal! more

Excellent Hair Cutter and Environment 5/11/2012

The best hair cutter I've had. My boss suggested Fred 3 years ago and been coming here ever since. I really like the environment and feel like I'm getting out of the rat race for that brief time with Fred. It is such a relaxed atmosphere; getting your hair cut while having a witty intellectual conversation with Fred. We send all our clients to Fred, that is how much we trust him. more

Truly one of the most talented haircutters 5/11/2012

I have been going to Fred for the past 5 years and every friend of mine now goes to him. It's always a great cut and whenever I have a special event, I like to go to Fred just prior for the touch ups on my hair. I have a very polished look and it requires a very detailed cut around my face, that Fred has perfected. This guy is a real find in NYC! more

Fred is such a special person and very talented. I do a lot of traveling between Beverly Hills and NYC. When I come to NYC, I want to see Fred right away. I have very problematic hair for most hairdressers but Fred knows how to cut it so that all my waves frame my face. I also look forward to my visit with Fred. I think he should be a therapist/hairdresser! more

Great cut for a man too! 5/11/2012

I'm one of those guys who is always in a rush and doesn't like to spend a lot of time at hair salons. I've been going to Fred for 2 years and it has been the most consistent quality haircut. It always looks like I have more hair than I do after I leave Fred. Another thing that is great about going to Fred, is that it is private. I don't have to bother with a lot of people and salon distractions. Fred works perfectly with my schedule. I highly recommend him. more

The best haircut I have ever had! 5/11/2012

I had been going to another hairdresser for years and when he retired I had to start my search for someone that could take his place. I asked all my friends who they went to and tried a couple, but not with great results. By the time I got to Fred, I wasn't expecting much; but I really loved his personality. Well what a wonderful surprise when he was done. Not only have I found my hairdresser for life, but he was much better than my former one. Fred really took the time to LISTEN to what I wanted, and such an engaging fellow to go to. Not only a great haircut but also an enjoyable experience. more

The Best 3/31/2012

I starting going to Fred after I asked a stranger where she got her haircut. She gave me his card and I have been a customer ever since. Fred takes his time and cuts your hair until it is a masterpiece. The cut takes into account your body shape and your lifestyle. He is an artist whom looks at his work as if it is his creation. I travel two hours to get to the location but it is clearly worth the trip. I recommend him without any reservation. Thanks, Fred more

I LOVE my hair!! 3/31/2012

Fred did an amazing job on my hair - he listened very carefully to what I wanted and took the time to give me the perfect cut for me, taking into consideration my face shape and hair type. I came away with a beautiful haircut that looks terrific even when I'm the one styling it. My hair is curly and I've had other stylists struggle to give me a cut that I'm happy with and that's easy to keep up. I only wish there were more than 5 stars I could give him! more

Fred you knock my sux off 12/15/2010

This month marks the one year anniversary since I first called in Fred. Within this time I've received overwhelming compliments, more than ever. One attractive and acquainted woman said I look like John Abraham (google him), believe me it was worth blushing. Also a beard I once shaved every other day now compliments me along with the haircut. It's only with this haircut I'm receiving compliments on my beard! And my buddies never let me go out wearing a cap, they say 'why cover that sexy hair?' So true! more

Over Twenty Years of Great Cuts and Counting! 2/4/2010

Fred has been cutting my hair for more than twenty years. I leave the styling choice up to him and he does his thing. Without fail I always walk out of his door with a great cut. My wife always volunteers how good my haircuts look! Fred has become a good friend too, he is thoughtful, kind and funny, A real solid and true person. He's a keeper! Never a bad hair day 1/17/2010

The title sums it up. Fred listens to his client's needs and concerns and works with you to determine the best style for you. He's always keeping up with the latest techniques and trends, and his personalized care and attention are wonderful. I wouldn't trust my hair to anyone else.
