This is such a great place! My friends have told me about this cafe and I just had to go and check it out! The food was great and the service excellent! I was pleasantly surprised when I was greeted by the owner himself. The service was prompt and the food very tasty! I went back a couple of times since my first visit and always had a great experience whether I went for lunch or dinner. I recommend it to all looking for great food in a pleasant setting. Pros: great food, great service, good prices Cons: none more

Excellent service and very good food 1/17/2008

I went there with some friends and had a great time. The red wine was fine, the appetizers excellent. I had the pasta with tomato and avocado - unique, huh - and it was sumptious. Very good service, mellow environment, and good prices. more

Excellent Mediterranean Food 8/5/2007

I've heard great things about this place from several people so I finally had the opportunity to sample their cuisine. The food was absolutely delicious. For an appetizer, I recommend the spinach fillo dumplings, eggplant dip and the fried feta cheese. Although you can't go wrong with any of the other choices as well. The chicken kabob was grilled to perfection and the service very attentive. We had a nice fruity bottle of cold white which brought the meal to fruition. You won't be disappointed - Highly recommended if you like Mediterranean cuisine. more

Another Spectacular meal at Cafe Brama 8/2/2007

I love this place! Went there with a group of friends and everything - from appetizers to desert was fantastic. The dishes are creative and brimming with originality and everything is so fresh. The eggplant dip, fried feta cheese and guacamole are my favorite appetizers and the Feta Cheese & Roasted Tomatoes pasta is one of the best pasta dishes I have ever tried. There is also a wide selection of very reasonably priced wines. We topped our meal off with richly brewed coffee and a couple of decadent desserts. I can't say enough good things about this place - it's a great addition to the neighborhood! more

very friendly place 3/5/2007

I've noticed this place in November and since then I am regular customer. I am very happy it is getting more and more busy recently. This place has really nice atmosphere and I spend a lot of afternoons there working on my laptop. It is because of their service, cool music and excellent coffee. I also tried their food and loved their appetizers (Greek?). I took my friends for brunch last weekend and liked it a lot. It is a great new addition to the neighborhood. more

Great Food, Cool Atmosphere & Friendly Service 2/14/2007

This is a great neighborhood cafe/diner if you want to enjoy good food and/or coffee, and just sit back and enjoy the East Village energy. The new mediterranean menu offers a variety of fresh and healthy choices which taste great but don't leave you feeling guilty afterwards. One of my favorite appetizers are the dolmades (stuffed grape leaves) which are light, flavorful and delicious. The salads are also very good, and I recommend the avocado & mozzarella salad which comes with sun-dried tomato, fresh basil, cucumber and lettuce. It's a young family run business so the service is naturally friendly, unpretentious and very welcoming. I can't wait to go back! Pros: None Cons: Great Greek/Polish/European Cafe/Diner in East Village more

Damn fine coffee! 2/10/2007

My review is based on coffee alone...I've not yet eatten here. BUT based just on the coffee, I highly reccomend this place! It's a bit pricey for a coffee, cappacino or cafe lattte, by village standards, but if you drink Starbucks (3 doors down and similar prices) you'll be amazed at the coffee here! Plus the staff is polite and friendly. Yum, yum, yummy! more

Best Mediterranean in East Village 2/4/2007

Cafe Brama, the place with the strange name above the door, looks like one that was transferred from today?s Athens: full but not crowded, full of voices but not noisy. And last but not least: very tasty. I?m a lucky person who knows CB's cuisine from their several ?ancient? locations in Poland. So I can observe the menu?s development as well as the perfectionism in making the right place on my map. The latest versions of ciabatta sandwich w/ avocado & mozzarella and St. Marks Salad I had in NYC I like the most. Really Italian bread, fresh cheese, some drops of Greek olive and pepper made this simple piece of sandwich really perfect ? just like that one I had in Florence (except Greek olive, of course). And St. Marks? Salad with its fried feta cheese is unique ? soft, crumbed with sesame ? delicious. Unfortunately Cafe Brama owners do not offer the best dessert I had in Poland: the French Comedy. It was very popular in early days of Cafe Brama in Warsaw. Ask for it - they definitely have to have it in NYC also! more
