Great Service - Awesome Experience 9/23/2010

Love this place. The staff knows how to make you feel like royalty. I saw a video of this place on another website and went to it. If you're looking for a good champagn bar, go here. They also have affordable bottles. more

DISAPPOINTING 8/25/2010

I was SOOOOOOO disappointed with the Bubble Lounge. Service was terrible - we waited forever for our waitress to come refresh our drinks and check on us. At the end of the night she interrupted us and reached in front of us to grab our bill - so tacky. Champagne selection was good, all of it was very pricey, the Champagne cocktails are made with cheap sparkling wine, but they still charge you $16 for these. Food - we ordered chocolate and caramel fondue. It took 45 minutes to come out and was not fondue. it was a platter with unripe strawberries, gross things they were trying to pass as marshmallows and 1 cookie cut in half -- there was one little dish of cold chocolate and one of cold caramel to dip in....NOT fondue. It was totally not worth it. more

Cozy Champagne Bar with Great Bites 3/5/2010

This exposed brick candle-lit Tribeca champagne lounge blends plush gilded era furniture with modern leather seats and big round “bubble” lighting. The chill bi-level spot has intimate couches upfront, in the main room and downstairs. The romantic setting is perfect for sharing delectable small plates (grilled duck with brie and fig jam) and sensual fondues with strawberries from $9 to $15. For large groups or parties, reserve some banquettes (sans sleazy bottle minimums) and listen to the DJ do his thing Thursdays through Saturdays. Large single-item platters of grilled sandwiches, apps, desserts, or cheeses are great for groups at just $60. Conveniently located Bubble Lounge sits blocks away from the Canal St. N, R, 6 stops, and just steps from 1 train on Franklin St. The staff is friendly as the food is amazing, catering to details, presentation and unique pairings – much like any good bartender would try. Speaking of which, Bubble Lounge’s drink list is juicy. Champagne and sparkling cocktails are $16, special martinis like the Kit Kat and specialty drinks (California dream, the French Quarter, Brazilian sangria, Raspberry Caipirinha) are $15 a pop. Pros: Comfy, Upscale, Great Food, Special Cocktails Cons: A bit pricey ($16 special drinks) more

Fantastic! 12/9/2009

My boyfriend and I were walking around and randomly went into the Bubble Lounge. We were only planning on staying for a drink or two but the bartender was so nice and funny...we ended up staying most of the night! Great place, good people and the price was awesome! Pros: Atmosphere, bartenders, and people more

Great selection of Champagne!!! 4/24/2009

I was there last night and the Champagne rose from Ayala I tasted was sublime, well balanced and crisp. The atmosphere of the bar is very pleasant too. Thanks!!! more

Perfect for After-Work Chatter! 1/3/2009

My girlfriends and I selected this place for our yearly Christmas get-together for some drinks, dinner and gift-exchanging, and trust me...NOBODY was disappointed! On-street parking was super easy (I parked right across the street!) and the hostess was more than accommodating in finding us a cozy nook with plush couches and chairs. Beautiful setting, whimsical paintings (all champagne related) and ""bubble"" shaped lighting helps to convert this place into a professionally swanky place! Cocktails are a BIT pricey, but seeing as we were on a celebratory budget we all tried almost every one on the menu, SO GOOD! The small menu worried me a bit, but everything was perfectly delicious! Small sliders, the truffle foccacia (amazing!), the cheese platters, and dessert, it was all more than enough! The only thing missing was a fully-functioning fireplace against a snow-drift backdrop with a twinkle of Christmas lights. The thought didn't escape my mind for a mere 2 seconds before a manager pulled down a HUGE big screen and projected a large image of a crackling fireplace. Definitely not the same, but was totally awesome! Service was attentive, the ambiance wasn't overly loud, and the music was groovy. I truly can't wait to go back, either with my husband or with the girls! P.S. If your the suit-chasing type, or have a strong attraction to European men...you'll have more than your fair share of eye candy! ;-) Pros: Cozy ambience, great cocktails, trendy bar, attentive service Cons: Needs a fireplace! Don't sit by the stairs. more

DISAPPOINTED 11/21/2008

\r Last night at Bubble Lounge I was served a ""Kir Royal"" with sparkling wine instead of champagne for the high price of the drink. My friend's glass of red wine was only 1/4 filled. All these drinks were made by a lady bartender at the Bubble Lounge. I was very disappointed! more

Cool place 9/26/2008

The Bubble Lounge is a cool place. Comfy, retro couches and armchairs; mirrors and lighting make the decor open up. A great place to hang out and chat with friends, but the music pumping keeps your adrenaline up. I paid $7 for a Stoli Razz and 7Up which is pretty standard in NYC. Check it out Pros: sophisticated Cons: no dancing? more

Blah. If a champagne bar is your thing, then this is for you. 6/7/2008

Went there for a friend's birthday party. The music sucked. DJ played songs such as Boy Georges ""Karma Chameleon"" and Lady Marmalade (the original). Not good for dancing, unless one is drunk. We were the only African American's in the entire place. \r I think its for an older crowd of late 30's and more. \r \r I personally would never go back there again. Even if not for dancing, I still would like to lounge and listen to good music. This place is not it. Bartender was nice. No Cover. Pros: ... Cons: Music sucked (oldies and not goodies) more

Fun Champagne Bar 8/17/2007

I went here with some pals, and we had a pretty good time. Although we were probably the youngest cats there (it was a 30 something crowd and we are 20s) and there was a very obnoxious guy who kept harassing my poor roommate, it was fun. There is a huge selection of champagne cocktails, and the tapas are quite good. They have a large dessert menu, so definitely go for that. The DJ was rockin' some old school stuff, cheesy but still danceable. There was some goofy dancing (if that's what you want to call it) going on, and even a dance-off which was quite entertaining. It's a large space and it was easy for 7 of us to get a table, so definitely go with a group. You can sit outside on their comfy chairs too if the weathers good. I definitely recommend this place! Pros: Great Champagne cocktails, fun chill silly atmosphere Cons: watch out for douchebags more

Swanky, fun place 11/10/2006

Started a night out on the town here in a group of 10 - this was the best place that night. Besides the fun and comfortable decor, the waitstaff was friendly and helpful. We couldn't afford the $2000 bottle of champagne, but a few magnums later of something more reasonable made us feel like tycoons. A totally fun place. I went on a Friday night, so I'll go back to check it out on other nights. Pros: Cool, comfortable, fun Cons: none at all more

Fabulous champagne bar in a cool, relaxing spot! 10/23/2006

This was our first time to the bubble lounge and we both loved it. The atmosphere is cool, relaxing with comfy couches. We ordered a bottle of champagne and some snacks to go with it. The music was also jammin' and we can't wait to go back to the Bubble Lounge! Pros: Huge selection of champagne, cool and relaxing lounge! more

For a nice drink with the girls-also good ""Suit"" action 8/26/2006

Residing in Tribecca comes with plentiful perks, which I will not list, because I want to keep it that way. However, there is one place that I have found is great to go and sip a post-date champagne (if you want to keep the date going), meet with the girls to scope out some suit Talent or just when walking buy pop in and have a glass of bubbly. For those who adore Champagne (yes, people drink the sparkling masterpiece even when not celebrating), you ought to stop by the Bubble Lounge, both in NYC, and SF. Pros: Great Location, Beautiful Atmos., Good Happy Hour Crowd Cons: Poor lighting of the Boudoirs more

Great Atmosphere - Lousy Service 11/28/2005

I looked at this bar for my 35th birthday party, and when I went to see it on a weeknight I loved it and the people were friendly and helpful. However, for Friday night party the service was a different story altogether. Even though I had a reservation, the service was indifferent at best. At least the out-of-towners got a laugh out of experiencing NY rudeness... Pros: Fun Couches, Weeknights are good, Fun Drinks Cons: indifferent service, pricy, snobby on weekends more

Wow! 8/17/2005

I only wish I had discovered the Bubble Lounge sooner -- and so do my friends who join me on my ""girl's night out"" evenings. The staff is so cool, the food is great (though a bit slow on busy nights), and the atmosphere is fantastic. We will be back again and again to this venue devoid of pretention. Thank you Bubble Lounge! Pros: service, atmosphere, location more

Pop! 1/10/2005

While waiting for reservations at Nobu Next Door, my friend and I stopped in Bubble for a few drinks. The drinks are delicious and the decor is nice & warm: not the typical ultra modern, Asian inspired haunts springing up all over the city. The patrons and the staff are a bit 'suit-stiff' though. Younger women seem to be sitting around waiting for an older suit to buy them drinks, or maybe a house in the Hamptons. We were bothered by a few sugar daddies who offered to pay for dinner. My piece of mind and time with the company that I arrived with was not for sale. Pros: Decor, Lighting, Drinks Cons: , Patrons, Price more

Great Drinks - Rude Staff 10/22/2004

When my date chose bubble lounge I was excited as I am a champagne lover--great drinks made combo w/ champagne and tequila. BUT--I actually got told to remove my foot from the table--which I was *barely* doing. With staff members like that...it really takes away the ""loungy"" aspect! They should call it ""Bubble Annoy the Patrons"". Pros: Great Drinks, Good Tunes more

All around great place 7/16/2004

I've been here twice, once for a friends birthday (large group) and once on a date. Both times, this place was amazing. The service is super freindly, and is very knowldegeable and informative about the different champagnes. The menu has delicious finger foods (caviar, cheeses, fruit, etc.). My only gripe is that they don't offer enough wines by the glass, but this is a champagne bar after all. No cover. Pros: huge champagne list, delicious food, intimate more

engagement 2/11/2003

Last week my boyfriend and I went to the Bubble Lounge for drinks before dinner. We had been there before and of course we love it there. Well, this is the place he chose to pop the question. Now, the Bubble Lounge means even more to me. Bubble Lounge, you have always been my favorite place with your great service, cozy atmosphere and great champagne, but now I love you guys. more

Editorial
  • Bubble's dark, swanky ambience and huge selection of champagnes intoxicate many a young transplant to the big city. Bright-eyed singles bypass the bar to sprawl in the plush sofas and chairs...
