DO NOT GO HERE. This club is unsafe and exploits its customers, especially tourists. Gratuity is included, so the service staff only cares about whether you order drinks & not about whether you're experiencing decent service. The club's management encourages a combative, rude, and frighteningly aggressive atmosphere.
I went here tonight to support my friend in a comedy competition. DURING MY FRIEND'S PERFORMANCE--which I had traveled for over one hour & paid a cover to see, and which was only scheduled to be 5 minutes long--the waitress Ashley picked a fight with me & threatened to call security if I didn't move to another section of the club--even though I was observing the club's rules & was seated and had ordered a drink. Her behavior was combative and aggressive for no valid reason, and was basically an attempt to display power. Due to Ashley's behavior, I missed half of my friend's performance, which was the only reason I came to this club.
I discussed Ashley's behavior with the manager, David (who has long blond hair). He was immediately defensive and dismissive of my concerns. He clearly didn't care, and it dawned on me that he encouraged an atmosphere of combative, rude, and aggressive behavior from the waitstaff.
The rest of my (very large) group shared similar stories afterwards about how aggressive, rude, and surly the waitstaff was.
Given my experience, and the experience of my group, I will never go here again. Please don't go here, either. Especially if you're new to New York, you should know that there are a lot of other amazing comedy clubs in New York City. New York City is a meritocracy, and this club does not deserve to survive unless it changes it service philosophy.
