Worst

Went to Chapy's for the first time with a group of International ladies and my experience was not great. I really don't like the bred they served at first, it was dried and taste...

I love their appetizers because they are so tasty and diverse. I like the fact that the people that work here are great people and very polite too. more

I eat at Chappy's at least once a week and I love it. The service is always excellent and Chappy goes from table to table making sure everything is just right. If you need something more vegetarian or even gluten free they can make it happen. I have a friend who spends alot of time in New Orleans and she says the gumbo is as good as it gets. more

I have been to numerous restaurants in the Middle Tennessee region but this one in out of this world. The food gives you that New Orleans taste but here in Nashville. It is very elegant and you will definitely get in good with the ladies if you bring them here, as long as they are not picky eaters and can truly appreciate gormet food. This is top notch!! Wouldn't think twice about telling a friend. more

My wife and I had decided to go to Chappys for my birthday on Sat night. The fresh baked bread was nice, so was the 4 butters, regular, strawberry, garlic, and alligator. The Fried Green Tomato appetizer was excellent. My Mardi Gras Lambchops were great, and my wifes Blackened Redfish was awesome both came with a salad. The Bread Pudding was nice though a little cinnamony. My wife had a glass of wine, I had tea. And a cup of coffe with dessert. All for $70 before tip. There was also a nice Jazz band playing. My wife and I are still pretty young and if this was a normal dinner and a movie Saturday night probably would have just went to one of the Chains that Nashville has. There would have been no dessert, no wine, and no coffe. Which even at some generic chain would have cost the same as at Chappy's anyway. If we didnt have any of those at Chappy's our meal would have been about $56. At any of the Chains we usually spend about $40 for an apetizer, 2 entrees, one salad added on, and a couple of teas.So its only about $16 more to have a great meal at Chappys vs some Generic Chain Restaurant. And at Chappy's the food is fresh, and well prepared. The staff did a good job, we had reservations, showed up a little late, but quickly seated. They werent excellent, but werent bad either. The restaurant is still new and Nashville isnt exactly known for having the type of restaurants where wait staff learn these skills. more

I'm puzzled by the negative reviews as I went to Chappy's with a group and was met with excellent service, terrific food, and an atmosphere unrivaled in the Nashville area. The food--from appetizer to salad to entree to dessert--was amazing. I will definitely return. Reservations are probably a good idea, and the private alcoves are GREAT for a small group. more

Below is the exact email that I sent directly to Chappy's. I expected an email in return apologizing or something, but nothing. more

Very big let down! Does not like families! 2/4/2012

We made a reservation at Chappy's for our family to go for my husbands birthday. When I made the reservation it was for 3 adults and 2 children (8 & 11). As soon as we arrived we were treated very coldly. The waiter was very short with us. The children's menu if you'd like to call it that was three deep fried offerings with fries! No veggie nothing! Reminded me of McDonald's not a nice high end establishment. The waiter even made a point to be especially polite to the two tables on either side with only adults. We had to ask repeated for drink refills and everything seemed to take twice as long as the other equal size tables. If they do not want families in their restaurant than why not say so? It would have saved us a ruined family dinner. Tried to say something to them on a post on Facebook expecting atleast an apology and all I got was my post removed and blocked from their site. I'd say they don't take criticism very well. Glad I waited til we left to say something. Who knows how they would have acted face to face in front of my children! more

THE BEST I have ever tasted 8/8/2011

Your food is superb! After indulging myself with the Oysters 2-2-2, escargot, salad, stuffed potato and blackened prime rib I couldnt resist desert when Michael said Coconut cake. However, I had to take it with me as I didn't have any room left after dinner. Later that evening I started eating the cake; in the middle of the night I had some more and I finished it for breakfast the next day. That cake is absolutely THE BEST I have ever tasted! more

Wonderful atmosphere. 8/2/2011

I had the pleasure of dining at your restaurant when my husband and I were visiting his brother in Greenbrier. The atmosphere was wonderful and Michael was the best waiter I have ever encountered. You were kind enough to come to our table so we could meet you in person which topped off the evening. more

An HONEST Review: Great Food, HORRIBLE service 7/25/2011

Chappy's on Church is in a great location and is a well known restaurant in Nashville. The food is soooo incredibly good that you will be tempted to forgive the service.. Pros: The food and menu are incredible! Maybe a top to bottom review of service / wait staff may clear up these issues. CONS: DO NOT BOOK A PARTY OF 5 OR MORE AT CHAPPY'S FOR ANY REASON!! YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. We were required to provide a credit card number to reserve the room, so they knew for sure that we were coming with a big party. For our party of 26, we had multiple major issues. Granted, we told them we would have 22-24, the impact of the increased number should not have been: -taking almost an hour to get our orders, -beverages orders taken for only 2 or 26 people. several people had to leave without eating due to poor service. I hope they get it together. BTW: The number of glowing reviews without any mention of service makes me wonder if this review will actually be published... we'll see... more

Love Chappy's! 6/22/2011

I went to Chappy's for lunch along with 5 of my coworkers. Before going I had heard good & bad things, and after reading some reviews, was really prepared for a long lunch with slow service and maybe a little rudeness thrown in, for which I would also pay a pretty penny. But since I was with a group, I decided we would all find out for ourselves and we would have a good time anyway. Let me just say how pleasantly surprised we all were. It was a totally positive experience -- absolutely no negatives as far as I'm concerned -- and I can be pretty critical. We arrived about 11:45 on a Monday, after making reservations, and we were seated immediately. Our waitress was Sparkle and she was a delight, very friendly and helpful. We had the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer -- delicious! A loaf of bread with 4 flavored butters was sampled by all and....well you can't go wrong with bread and butter. A salad came with each meal, and the presentation was great as was the homemade dressing. Every one enjoyed their meal, around the table were grilled chicken, fried grouper, trout almondine, fried shrimp, and ""the special"". Chappy came over and welcomed us and had quite the personality. We had to be polite and order desert, so we sample 3 between the 6 of us: Chocolate Cake, Bread Pudding, and Peach Cake -- all homemade of course. It was hard to decide which was best, they were all fabulous and worth every calorie! We had a great experience, with great food and even great service. We were thinking this would be a good place for a company gathering, and they do have separate rooms for large groups. Our bill was under $20 for each of us, which was reasonable considering all we had. I mean we knew we were not in a diner when we walked in and saw the exquisite and unique decor with the white table cloths on the tables. Most entrees were in the $10-$12 range for lunch. I am glad I didn't rely on the negative reviews because I would have missed a good time! more

very tasty 6/14/2011

Had a repeat pleasure by ordering the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and also ordered the shrimp remoulade appetizer which was tasty but had a little too much sauce over the shrimp. We shared the seafood platter which had a generous portion of several types of seafood; very tasty with the fried oysters and scallops being the best. more

Great atmosphere 6/10/2011

Nice quiet and pleasant atmosphere as my wife and I dined here for the second time and were seated in one of the small dining rooms. more
