I dined at Chappys this past weekend (3.29.08) and although I am a fan of Chappy and his food, I want to know what I have to order to get some decent service in there. After sitting at our table for nearly 15 minutes, I decided to make a move and mention to his wife Starr, lead hostess that evening, if perhpas they had forgotten to tell the staff we had been seated, because we had not been greated and had been there hearly 15 minutes. After sloughing me off onto another hostess without even smiling, I returned to my seat for another 10 minutes before the second hostess could get a server to come wait on my boyfriend and I. Needless to say this set the tone for the entire meal, slow and neglected. We had to ask Chappy to get our salads while he was greeting those in the restaurant. We tried to enjoy our meal anyways, ordering a bottle of wine, and appetizer, and two entrees. And after expressing our dissatisfaction to Chappy on his third visit to our table (in which he had to run our check b/c we couldn't find our server again) he didn't even apologize or offer to ""correct"" anything on the bill. Not only could Chappy seem to care less about a menial $120.00 two-top, but when walking out of the restaurant we again confronted Starr, his wife, about the bad service we had recieved after complaining several times. She begrudgingly replied that ""I'll have to work on that."" Yes, Starr you will. Chappys might serve great food, but without great service, I might as well be at O'Charley's.
