Went to Chapy's for the first time with a group of International ladies and my experience was not great. I really don't like the bred they served at first, it was dried and tasteless. No body eat it. The owner of the restaurant came out and recommended ""the special"" and because one of my friend said the especial is always good, I picked the especial. That was on Friday 6/3/11. They served me a small half of a trout filet. it was tasty,but there was no rice, no fries not nothing that come with that dish. Then I ordered a cup of white rice and it was the most horrible rice I have ever seen and eaten before. the waiter brought me a cup full of water and a liter bit of rice on it. I guess that's how they make there rice, to me it was horrible. Then I order a chocolate cocktail and the person that was serving did not tooke my order because he did not heard me, but he heard everybody us. I did not complaint, you don't want to seem rude in front of al your friends. more

Accompanied with our excellent service, Chappy?s is the place to dine any day. Chappy's luncheon specials start at $8.95. Dinners pricing starts at $18.95. Sunday Brunch starts at $11.95. Chappy's has a full service bar and extensive wine list. Chappy's house wine is $4.50 all day, every day. Private dining rooms are available for 2 to 250 people. more

Absolutely tasty food, you have to come 5/31/2011

Chappy's is a reincarnation of Mr. Chapman's Longbeach, Mississippi restaurant. He has a great flair for creole and cajun dishes, with an emphasis on fresh seafood. His sauces are very French, so don't expect to watch your waistline. It is truly a dining experience, with meals taking at least 2 1/2 to 3 hours. I don't think Nashville ""gets"" Chappy's, and I hope places like Margaritaville don't drive him out of business. One of our favorites, with attentive staff who know their menu. more

Yummy Fish 5/24/2011

""My mom is in a medical facility a block or two from Chappy's. She has been there or in a nearby ICU for the last 10 weeks. She just now got on solid food and REALLY want some """"country style"""" fried catfish. I had Chappy's catfish before and really liked it, but didn't know if I was up to spending dinner price for a couple of pieces of fish (all she wanted was fish and tartar sauce). My wife suggested we go by there. I dropped her off at the door and she explained the situation and they sold us two good size pieces for just $5.00 - cooked fresh and with homemade tartar sauce! After eating the fish, my mom was in a much more talkative mood even though she is encumbered by a trach. Not say the fish was medicinal, but it sure made her day a little better. THANKS SO MUCH! more

The best food and service in the South 5/10/2011

New Orleans has the best food and service in the South, if not the USA. ?Chappy's brought that portion of New Orleans with him. ?Do yourself a favor and check this place out! ?Just to enhance the experience he always has a wonderful three piece ensemble playing live and not too loud. ?Even there he outshines the rest of this culturly devoid town. more

The service is the best in Nashville. ?Nashville is a city known for it's poor service from resteraunt wait staff. ?The wait staff at Chappy's does it right and restores my hope that waiters elsewhere in town may actually look at their chosen career as a profession. ?Chappy's would be a good school. more

If you want the best Creole around without having to drive to New Orleans, Chappy's is the best...there is not even a close 2nd. Redfish, Grouper, Catfish(the best Catfish in all of Nashville...period) Gumbo..etc I've had them all at Chappy's and look forward to going every week! Nashville is lucky to have a restaurant that sets itself apart from the rest like Chappy's. more

Wonderful experience! 4/4/2011

We had the most pleasant experience last night after seeing Cats at TPAC. Our reservations were for 9:15 and for some reason they had us down for 7:15. Susan, the Hostess and Manager, then accommodated us even though they were in the process of closing. Derrick was our server and he too was very willing to make the dining experience top quality! Our appetizer, meals and service were spectacular. Props to the cooks in the back on a speedy and wonderful tasting meal. We will definitely be back very soon. more

Exceptional 3/25/2011

As always, Chappy's cuisine was superb. His wait staff, excellent, wife list is sufficient and not overly priced. The ambiance was exceptional. He has brought old New Orleans charm to Nashville. My wife and I go there on special occasions, and the enjoy everything about the experience. Chappy's should be noted as one of Nashville?s finest. more

Highly Recommend 3/23/2011

We went to Chappy's to celebrate a birthday in our family tonight and it was delightful. The waiter couldn't have been nicer, there was a wonderful jazz combo, and all the food was delicious: steak, seafood and veal, not to mention the scrumptious desserts and after-dinner coffees. Highly recommended! more
