They did a great job! 2/11/2009

I went to Home Depot and bought a new faucet for my bathroom sink which was dripping constantly. I called many places to see how much it would take to install it and had a variety of estimates done. When Bishop Plumbing came out, they showed me a different faucet they carried and comparing the one I bought and the one they carried, it was an obvious choice. They were pricey, but I'm about quality. The faucet set I bought at Home Depot was totally inferior compared to the one they installed. It made a difference having both to compare. Their products also had an extensive warranty whereas the faucet only had a manufacturer's warranty which did not include labor and installation. Ultimately, I paid more for Bishop Plumbing to install a faucet they carried, but given the high quality in comparison to the products from Home Depot and the warranty, Bishop was definitely worth it. I would recommend Bishop for those who look to quality products, service and warranties. Pros: Carries high quality products, great service and good warranties Cons: Cost, but worth it if you value high quality products and service more

Responsive, Professional, FInished Work Fast 2/6/2009

We had a problem with our kitchen drain which was leaking underneath our counter. It was not the start of a good day. My husband left for work, my kids set off for school and I had to call into work. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to take a whole day off from work, but our kitchen was a mess. Whenever we had problems, it usually takes at least a day to fix. I called Bishop Plumbing and they were here in less than an hour. The plumber did his very best to get the problem fixed fast so I could make it to work by lunch time. Sure enough, the problem was fixed and I only took a half day off from work. He was professional and got the job done. Thank you Mr. Bishop. Pros: Responsive and very professional. Cons: Big truck had difficulty finding parking more

Extortionists 2/2/2009

This company is a total rip off and rude besides. We called them out for a blocked drain and we would have been quite happy to pay several hundred dollars to get it fixed but the quote was $512- a common number I see from other bad reviews they have gotten. My husband and I fixed it ourselves with a $37 machine rental from Home Depot in literally 10 minutes!!! When I called them back to explain, politely, why I thought this was an exorbitant quote they were quite rude and the manager never returned my call. When I called again she was very rude and did not care that the quote was so out of line and would not drop the service fee. It is extortion and I don't know how they stay in business. Pros: None Cons: Too expensive, rude management more

Fast, Professional, Great Customer Service 1/21/2009

I had a problem with my basement bathroom. We woke up in the morning and found about an inch of water on our entire basement floor and saw that leaking was happening around our toilet. We had the water supply shut off, cleaned up a bit and called a couple different plumbing contractors to give us an estimate for the work. Two contractors couldn't give us an estimate because they needed to ""open"" things up to evaluate. Bishop Plumbing gave a price up front. Although it was a little higher than expected, I understood that the cost wouldn't increase even if the work took the entire day. There is a big difference when paying by the hour and a problem taking a day to solve it versus paying one price up front. Pros: Professional, Customer Service Focused, Highly Skilled, Clean. Cons: We have a home in LA they cannot service. :-) more

There is a big difference when paying by the hour and a problem taking a day to solve it versus paying one price up front. Anyway, they did the work, solved the problem and left the bathroom cleaner than it was before they came. Our plumber wore boot covers to keep our floors clean and tagged our valves and showed us what to do should we have problems with our plumbing in other areas of the house. It was good to get a little education on our plumbing system. The follow up was wonderful also. We received a call to make sure that our bathroom was working properly about a week later. The quality control was evident in their questions wanting us to address the performance of their plumber who was at our home. People need to realize that when they go into surgery, you should want the best surgeon -- not the cheapest. Bishop Plumbing is certainly not the cheapest, but there is a cost for professionalism, knowledge and solution delivery. If you want cheap work don't call them. I happen to appreciate the "extras" that come with professionalism and highly recommend Bishop Plumbing. Pros: Professional, Customer Service Focused, Highly Skilled, Clean. way way way Over Priced!!!!! 1/13/2009

i dropped a shampoo cap down the bath tub drain. i know. i called them thinking i had used them before for snaking out the same drain (which cost $150). i was told me that they have a $80 dispatch fee but would waive the fee if i let them do the job. she wouldn't give me a ball park and i thought i had used them before. the guy came out and told me it would be $512 + $80 dispatch fee and that it would be that one price for the whole job. my husband has one of those home snake kits and wanted to use that but i was afraid that it would further shove the cap down the drain and didn't want a busted pipe or an eventual blockage down the road. i had him call for a discount and after 2 calls, it went down to $400. on their receipt form it says "Extended Warranty= 3 years parts and labor" and he wrote under basic rate 1-100 and extended warranty 300, total $512.70. when i asked to just remove the extended warranty because once he removes the shampoo cap then i won't need further service from them, he said that's not what that is, it's just how they write out their order but all jobs have 30 day warranty. i should've looked at it more closely and really got answers from him but i figured once the obstruction is removed then then i wouldn't need them anymore. well, he looked a the pipes (don't know if he took it apart though) and finally snaked it out and did not remove the cap. i kept asking him what would happen down the road, wouldn't we deal with a blocked pipe later on and he said there was chances of that happening and that would mean opening up the floor bla bla. but isn't that because he shoved it way down the pipe system? then he tells me that there's no warranty on foreign objects. wtf. it was one price for the job and that was to remove that said foreign object. he pushed it to he doesn't know where? after talking to a manager, they agreed to a 90 day but now i'm really scared that they won't honor it or it will be after the 90 days. more

Bishop Plumbing is a Price Gouger !!!! 1/3/2009

Arrogant, condescending, and stupid is how I'd describe my experience with this company. They acted like they were doing me a favor coming out to my house, and thought I was so gullible to accept a $375 fee to check for a gas leak, and then $875 to fix it !! I declined their services, called Nicor who tested it for FREE, and then called a different plumber in the neighborhood who came out within an hour and only charged $160 to fix the gas leak. I would never call Bishop Plumbing again !!! more

NEVER USE THIS SERVICE 11/26/2008

Never use this company. I discovered a problem with leaking humidifier after work. Called Bishop and told them about it. After hours service call $179 paid up front by credit card. The repairmen told me that cause for the leakage was not obvious and he has to perform complete check-up for $324, but if it is humidifier he is not going to fix it, because ""it is not a plumbing work"". I pointed out that leakage is pretty obvious and he can see it himself if I turm humidifier back, but he insisted that leaking may come from within the heater and I should not touch anything. Sounds scary so against my better judgement I signed some paper approving check-up. After that he turned on humidifier and told me that it is leaking, but he can't do anything about it like he told me before. The rest of his visit he dedicated to filling five different papers and taking about 20 pictures building ""evidence portfolio"". The whole experience feels like a scam: $179+$324 for nothing and I am filling a report with Better Busines. Stay away from these guys. Cons: rip off more
