Anyone that has been serviced by them would know they are scammers and thieves! What a horrible company! Taking advantage of the fact that it's freezing outside and my furnace is broken. Charged me $400 just to tell me they could not fix my furnace and had to replace it, then gave me an estimate for another $4,500 for the replacement! For a 1 bedroom condo! Wouldn't even offer to deduct the diagnostics fee from the replacement cost. What a joke, but on me! Called another company that came out FOR FREE and is replacing my furnace for more then half that cost. If you're in need of heating services the last place you should call is Bishop, unless you've got $ burning a hole in your wallet. In that case you can give it to me. I want my $400 back! more

Bishop Plumbing has outrageous fees. $79 to get them to come out and $366 before they even do anything. You are expected to commit to $445 before anything is even done. But over the phone they just say $79 - so what are you supposed to do, have him leave after you took time to be home for the appointment? They are taking advantage of people. Then, additional cost for any work. I was looking at $1400 for a simple faucet repair. The guy said he couldn't get a new part from the manufacturer so I needed a new faucet. But when I called Moen later that day, they sent me the new part for free. Bishop is totally unethical in my opinion. Would NOT recommend this company to anyone. more

I used them once to fix a gas leak. They came out and performed the work.\r Yesterday I called them and asked how much they would charge to fix the shut-off valve in the basement for my outdoor hose. They told me I'd have to pay $80 for a service call just to have a plumber come out and tell me how much it is to do the repair, when they have set prices for all these different kinds of repairs. I told the lady to forget it. I'd have to pay the $80 whether I did the fix or not. The repair would be in addition to the call, and they wouldn't even tell me the price over the phone.\r \r I WON'T be calling them again. Very unhappy. more

Had some extensive plumbing work by Bishop Plumbing. The communicated well with me right from the start straight through the completion of the job. Their representative was thorough, did excellent work and offered suggestions that proved helpful. Finally, the clean-up was also very thorough. I would highly recommend Bishop Plumbing. more

Run, do not walk AWAY from this company. There are many other plumbing services available then to deal with this organization. \r We had a hot water heater issue and called Bishop. $79 to simply show up. Technician 'looked' at our water heater and said- "" It'll cost you another $300 to diagnose the problem so will probably be cheaper to replace in the long run"" Huh???\r Called another company and they replaced a T&P valve for $20.\r \r Called their local manager and was told- ""The $79 was JUST FOR THE TECHNICIAN TO SHOW UP!! NOT FOR ANY WORK, WHICH WOULD BE ADDITIONAL"" more

I had a very positive experience with Bishop plumbing recently. We needed a sump pump, water heater, and other services. Our plumber, Joe, was very experienced and knowledgeable concerning our needs. He was very efficient and professional, and we were quite pleased with the jobs he did for us. \r Prices were reasonable and we felt we received good value for our expenditures.\r I highly recommend Bishop Plumbing in Des Plaines, and wouldn't hesitate using them for our future needs. more

We just moved in our new home and had an unwelcome plumbing surprise. We decided to call Bishop for an estimate because of a mailer we received. Under the circumstances, we had a great experience. Brian and Joe were friendly, knowledgeable and did a great job. While Joe was working on one job, Brian walked me around the inside and outside of our home explaining the systems we have in place and identifying potential issues and maintenance items. He even cleaned out the end of our gutters. I learned a lot about our home and with the repairs to our ejector pump, I have peace of mind. Brian, Joe and Christina were great to work with. more
