First Try & Bishop Plumbers Fixed It! 5/10/2008

I had an ongoing problem with a leak from my upstairs bathroom which seeped through the walls to the floor below and into our basement. I worked with one plumbing company which came to my home on four seperate occassion, each time promising that it would be fixed. They never fixed it and it still cost me money. I then decided to call Bishop Plumbing. They came out and and fixed my problem immediately. I was skeptical at first, but after a week -- we still didn't have the leak. It's been over a month and so far so good. The first plumber was inexpensive, but they ended up costing more after too many visits and my problem wasn't even fixed. Bishop Plumbers was slightly more on their visit, but it was fixed at their first try. Also, unlike the other plumbing company, Bishop Plumbers offerred an extended warranty so I don't have to worry if it leaks again in the next year. If you want to get the job done the first time, I would highly recommend Bishop Plumbers. Pros: Clean, organized, price up front, extended warranty, Professional Cons: More expensive than last plumber, but fixed my problem unlike first plumber more

Outrageously over priced 5/5/2008

Quoted work was 3 times as expensive as local plumbers for simple project. Would not recommend them to come out for service. more

Very Professional, Fast and Reliable -- only took a half day off vs. a full day. 1/3/2008

The service was great and the plumber was very professional and courteous.The lady on the phone was helpful and the plumber took extra time out to teach me how to turn off my valves. When I first caught the leak in y bathroom early in the morning - I thought I would have to take an entire day off, but they were here within an hour and I was able to get to work right after lunch hour. I highly recommend these guys -- they even cleaned the bathroom after they fixed it! Pros: Professional, fast, left lots of great trinkets and soap -- cleaned bathroom when finished Cons: price was high, but service was worth it -- only took a half day off when I thought I would take a full day. more

With a full day ahead of cooking and hosting, I couldn't waste any time and called Bishop Plumbing right away. Their technician arrived at my home within an hour and had the problem fixed in no time. He also did a ""sweep"" of the rest of the kitchen to make sure there weren't any other problems that could ruin my day and the dinner party. Although the price seemed somewhat higher than other plumbers, I'm a firm believer in ""you get what you pay for"" and Bishop Plumbing's serviceman was very professional and efficient. I haven't seen a leak since and don't expect any in the near future. Pros: Professional. Got the job done quickly. Cons: None that I can think of. more

Life saver company, knows what they are doing! 11/20/2007

Give these guys a break!! To be honest with you I don't normally write reviews nor do I read them because I figure that anyone that takes the time to bash another individual or company needs to get a life. But in this case I really need to let everyone know that this company is great. Are they more expensive than other plumbing companies I've used? Yes, but they have the professionalism and service to back it up. They came out to my home in an emergency situation this past weekend within SIXTY minutes of my call to their office. The person I spoke to on the phone was sympathetic and even walked me through how to shut my water heater down so it wouldn't flood my finished basement. They quoted me a price to do the work and then explained everything to me so I could understand it. They even hauled away my old water heater and cleaned up better than when they got there. When my neighbor saw their truck at my home they informed me that I should read the reviews on Citysearch and I admit my curiosity got the best of me. After reading these reviews I felt compelled to share my great experience with this company. I also informed my neighbor of how well they took care of me and turned them into a Bishop company because they called them out two days later to rooter their sewer. I will make sure to let everyone I know how great a company this is and anyone that reads these negative reviews should keep in mind that there are two sides to every story. Pros: awesome all around Cons: none that I think of more

Saved My Party! 9/29/2007

I write for a travel magazine, so you can imagine how critical I can be when it comes to service and attention to detail for any consumer (especially me). My husband and I live in a three story home in the Northshore with our two lovely children. Last weekend we were hosting a gathering to celebrate my parent's anniversary when our downstairs bathroom had a leak and caused an endless stream of water to fill our basement floor. It was almost midnight and we had our first guests arriveing early the next day when we called for a plumber. Our first call led us to a plumber that promised to get to us, but after waiting an hour was called and told they couldn't find a plumber willing to come out late at night. My second call was Bishop and I was told that they would have a plumber at my door within an hour. Nervous after 30 minutes I called back to check on the status and sure enough a plumber arrived within 10 minutes of my call. I was a wreck, but the plumber made it a point to fix the problem as quickly as possible so that we had time to clean up (and so I could get some sleep). The plumber was FABULOUS. He left our home cleaner than when he arrived and fixed our problem quickly with a professional attitude (even though it was now later in the evening). He also made it a point to educate us as to what to do the next time something like this would happen to minimize damage to our home. I've never had anyone come to my home to do work -- plumbing or otherwise -- who had patience and understanding during a difficult period. If I had to compare the service to a hotel -- Bishop would be a Four Seasons. A little pricey, but worth it if you want superior service. Quite frankly, I would spend a little more money for a good professional -- especially when it is someone who actually enters your home. Pros: Only plumbers to service late at night in an emergency, professional and CLEAN! Cons: a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for. I am someone who would pay and appreciate the Four Seasons Resorts more
