I will never go anywhere else! 4/15/2018

Dr. Yazdani is by far the best dentist in the ??! I had issues with a metal filling which she replaced. Her hands are so gentle and she knows how to explain the procedure. I went to her office as a recommendation and have gone back since then. I’ve a lot of work done but my smile , I can say is literally perfect. I had issues with my gums and some cavities. Everything had been taken care of. They have no issues in scheduling. The office staff is also very professional and quickly tell you what your insurance pays and what your deductibles are. I’ve even referred my sister that had work done. She didn’t like to smile I’m pictures because she had issues with her braces at another place. Let me tell you, she is now smiling again and that brings me so much joy. Never think twice about going to see her. She is truly an amazing person and dentist. Heaven sent! more

Excellent Service 11/4/2016

Dr Yazdani is the best dentist anyone can ask for. She is so warm and knows her stuff. I will recommend her to family and friends. Their prices are reasonable and affordable, the clinic is clean and comfortable. This is one of the best dental place in Houston, Tx. more

Great HH and Breakfast 11/11/2010

Stop by. Enjoy a plate any time of the day. Greek fusion. Pretty posh though. Since the first time I've been here, I haven't been disappointed. Thus this updated review. more

don't hesitate 10/30/2009

I have been to Lola many times before and I have not been disappointed once. They do have a problem with standardizing their food, and it seems that they have two different chefs working on different days. But the fact remains that Lola serves good food and that they have a great service staff. Definitely great experience! more

Maybe you'll have better luck @ Lola. 12/29/2006

My boyfriend and I fled one bad dining experience and found ourselves in another a few nights ago. I'd been to Lola with a small group of people and loved it-- the food was great, portions were very reasonable, and our server was very attentive. So, when we were trying to find (and finish) our original meal, we headed to Lola. Sadly, we were surprised to find a less-than-desirable dinner experience. Seated quickly, we ordered salads, wine, and Kebabs. The wine menu suggested the Greek wine, "Go on, give it a try!" I think it said. We were skeptical, but at the menu's encouragement, ordered it. Imagine what a tablespoon of dust would taste like in white wine, and this was what our glasses tasted like. Our salads were sizeable, but so full of large chunks of apple that they were overwhelming. Our kebabs, while very tasty, were much smaller than what I'd been served the first time I was at Lola. After we were served our meal, our waitress never checked back in on us. I think, despite the bad wine and disappointing food, we really didn't have the spirit to complain. --Our waitress didn't give us a chance to, since she didn't return and I had to (again) flag down server to get our check. The ouzo candies at the exit were good, though. I'd come back again to see if maybe Lola was just having an off night (was every restaurant in Seattle in bad straights the day after Christmas?) . When you go, ask your server to guide you through the menu, describe size of items, and avoid the Greek wine---but definitely try the fig, garlic, and cheese kebabs. more

Tasty Times at Lola 11/27/2006

We took a good friend out for her birthday dinner last night (Nov 26) to Lola and it was a new experience for all of us. What a lovely meal it was! The run down of the menu we sampled is probably too long to cover here but let me say that we had a nice array of meats, seafood, veggies, spreads and more. The tagines (clay pots) make for some succulent dishes (we had pork and a seafood tagine). The grilled octopus was lovely and a different way to have it served than you usually find in most restaurants. Brussel sprouts were lovely and cooked well. Desserts were also great; dessert doughnuts, chocolate tart and the ice creams (honey & pistachio) made us all very happy. Cappucinos were also prepared well and I get pretty picky about those because I compare all US coffee drinks to those in Europe I've had. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone! more

We will definitely be back! 8/28/2006

After a drink at the Can Can, my husband and I drifted over to Lola to experience what I had heard was one great Lemon Drop. We were not disappointed. Tom Douglas is a genius. Part of me secretly wished I'd see him coming out from the kitchen so I could give him a big smack on the cheek for all his efforts. We had drinks at the bar where the service was unfortunately unimpressive. The server seemed less than thrilled to have us taking up bar space for only appetizers and drinks, but we didn't move. We loved every bite of our appetizer and the drinks were fabulous. We'll be back, and we hope that server won't be working. :) more

Great Food, Relaxed Ambience 7/19/2006

I had a positive impression of Lola right away. The interior design strikes a rare balance of being stylish, fresh and hip while also feeling down-to-earth and relaxed. Our grou of 5 was seated in a comfortable booth close to the entrance. The service was excellent, especially with regards to suggesting wines by the glass. We ate family style so I had a chance to sample quite a few things. I thought the Greek Salad was great though not your traditional leafy salad. There was a hunk of feta the size of a razor phone in the middle of the plate of olives, cucumbers, onions and tomatoes. very tasty. The dolmades were good but not a personal favorite (they taste the same everywhere to me and it's always too greasy). I was not a huge fan of the salmon kebab, but it was as expected -- if you like your salmon grilled and very rich (as it tends to be in Seattle) then you'll like this. The highlight for me was the goat tagine. The meat was very succulent and the flavors quite subtle. The portion was medium-large, but by no means "big" as advertised by our waitress (not by any self-respecting male standards anyway). The vegeterians in the group seemed very satisfied and the dishes tasted ok to me but I'm hard pressed to write a positive review of a vegetable skewer (so allow me to recuse myself). One of the uber-healthy amongst us did comment that it was "rich" and the vegetable skewers had been dripped with olive oil. So it's not quite California cuisine if you're a health nut. But it is tasty and flavorful, in a great setting. Oh almost forgot! Dessert - against my wishes, the group opted to share 2, not 3 desserts. Both were good, though the Chocolate Tart was among the best I've had. (And I've had a lot, since it's the town bicycle of desserts). What made it special was the orange chocolate flakes in the ice cream. The doughnuts were good if...well, if you're into that sort of think. Light tasting, for a donut. But artery cloggin nonetheless. more

Another Tom D triumph 5/12/2006

I love Greek/Mediterranean food anyway, but with a Tom Douglas flair, I love it even more. Like all Tom Douglas restaurants, the decor is half the fun and in this particular restaurant, the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. Do not miss the hummus and salmon kebabs. You really can't go wrong with anything - and the bar has a great cocktail menu. more

LOLA....spectacular brunch!! 5/5/2006

My sister and I had brunch at Lola on New Year's Day and I was so impressed I could not stop talking about it for weeks!! They have a great menu (mix of the standards and some twists) delicious coffee and kind and attentive service. I would reccommend everyone try this Tom Douglass hot spot in the AM next time!! more

Lola-great atmosphere, decent pricings, and awsome appetizers! 4/21/2006

I recently went to this place for lunch and I was impressed enough to want to go back again. The atmosphere is casual and the decor is very mod and sleek. The cuisine is Greek and my favorite dish there is the lamb kabobs and their hummus is the best in town(different then the traditional hummus)! If you like pizzas, you must try their flatbread (very saucy with thin crust and tons of spices). The downside is it's very crowded and service can be slow, but if you don't mind waiting, the food is well worth it. more

Tom does Greek 4/13/2006

This is another one of Tom Douglas’ gems. Love this place. It is Greek food with a Tom Douglas twist to it. The menu price is very inexpensive. For lunch it is about $12 for a salmon kebab, greek salad or red potatoes and pita corners. Yum! Tom Douglas does a good job setting an atmosphere in his restaurants. This one is no exception. High ceilings, great lighting and big booths give it a relaxing yet friendly and inviting atmosphere. Check it out! more

Excellent Food 4/5/2006

I think Lola is Tom Douglas' best restaurant. The food is remarkable - very rustic with deep, earthy flavors. As with Tom's other kitchens, only the highest quality ingredients make it to the table. This is one of the better places in Seattle to have a nice dinner. more

And the breakfast ain't bad, either 2/26/2006

Known for their Greek/Mediterranean dinner menu, I was skeptical to hit Lola for breakfast. It seems Tom Douglas can do no wrong. My colleague and I each had the Lola Breakfast (2 eggs, maple sausage or bacon, and garlic potatoes), and were both very much impressed. Though "just breakfast" the plates were prepared with the same care and attention as any other meal. The potatoes were amazing, and I will be back again and again. more

Great atmosphere, delicious food 2/23/2006

I really like Tom Douglas and his restaurants. I like them all, although I think Etta's is overpriced. Lola's is a great addition to the downtown restaurant scene and to Tom's restaurant portfolio. It's located across the street from the Dahlia lounge. The food is tasty and delicious as expected. The tangines are highly recommended. The restaurant is kind of small and the only downside is how super crowded the bar is ALWAYS. That's pretty annoying, but if you have a reservation for dinner, you should be ok. They also do lunch and breakfast I think. more

Best Greek/Mediterranean 2/12/2006

I've been to Lola a handful of times and have not been disapointed yet. Lola is my favorite of all the Tom Douglas restaurants. Cocktails are perfect- especially the lemon drop. Be adventurous otherwise you could end up eating the same old stuff. My favorite dish is the goat tangine, each time its been prepared differenlty and always out of this world. The quail is also tasty served with pistachios. Try the spread sampler. On our latest visit, a person in our party knew our waitress, so we received this compliments of the house. However, be prepared to order extra of the housemade pita bread- the best I've ever had. Oh and the garlic smashed potatoes- fantastic: perfectly crisp, but creamy with a hint of garlic. Save room for dessert, but again venture out for something you normally wouldn't try like goat chese turnovers or goats milk pie. Be prepared to spend money, but well worth it for the amount of food. more

Need's work! 12/7/2005

First of all the bar is way too small. We were crammed while we waited for our table. Once we were seated (6 of us) our booth was in the middle of the room with aisles on both sides. It was so loud that we couldn't hear each other without shouting. We ordered; the tongue skewers were overcooked, the dips were uneventful, and the desserts did not come close to Dahila Lounge's. I really like Tom Douglas' food and other restarants but this one needs work! more

Great for dining solo 10/6/2005

I have been to Zola several times for drinks, but have only dined there solo. The design of the booths keeps the space open, but you don't feel like you are on display as "The Solo Diner". On every visit the food has been exceptional and the service as well. If you're tooling around downtown, shopping alone, stop in for a quick bite and glass of wine. You won't regret it! more

Editorial
  • The Scene
Complementing the mod-flavored decor of the adjoining Andra hotel, the dining room and bar are outfitted with flame-shaped, scarlet-colored light fixtures and parallel lines of high-backed booths. Soaring ceilings, hardwoods and walls of windows, combined with clamoring regulars, make for rather noisy ambience, but well-meaning servers do their best to communicate with diners over the din.

    The Food
Douglas' version of Greek fare showcases his affection for local ingredients and his talent for creating simple, thoughtful compositions. At lunch, the tender lamb burger with turmeric ketchup and crusty chickpea fries is the best bet. For dinner, it's the roasted red pepper and mint-laced feta spreads, whole roasted rockfish, and beautifully executed kabobs in seafood, lamb and pork variations that do the trick. Skip the overcooked seafood tagine in favor of red wine-braised octopus with pork belly. Desserts are worth the splurge, particularly the miniature cinnamon doughnuts with honey.
