I am impressed by the curriculum of Montessori schools, and AMAZED at this particular school.
Smaller Scholars has a beautiful campus, perfect for kids to learn and play simultaneously. The grounds are well cared for, and the classrooms are incredibly child-friendly. It makes me want to sit down and play with them, too!
The staff are very educated, and have a wonderful relationship with their students. It is obvious that they are dedicated to their work - and it shows in their students!
I can't think of a better Montessori school in the area, or one I'd rather bring my daughter to.

Both my wife and I work and since our child is only 5, we needed someone to take care of our child. I heard about Montessori in the newspaper and from a couple of friends who had nothing to say of it but rants and raves. Of course, rants and raves being good things. We enrolled him in the cottage and although it was difficult to leave him on his own for the first time, he came back and was so excited. He could not stop telling us of all the games and things that they had played and learned and could not wait to go back the next day. Our child has been in the Cottage for about a year now, and although he is looking forward to going to school this year, he is sad to be leaving Montessori. This place is a necessity if you have kids and both of you work. Call and enroll. The people and staff are very friendly and will do anything to meet your needs. As I said before, Montessori is extremely useful and saved us from a lot of trouble!

the health professions high school in houston was named in honor of michael debakey, the famous vascular surgeon that revolutionized the medical field. it attempts to prepare students for a career in medicine as early as high school. in my opinion, high school students are too young and naive to know of the issues involved in health care and the program, while having good intentions does not adequately prepare its students.

HSPVA was a very special experience for me. I was surronded by talented and driven people who were dedicated to their discipline and were generating quality work in their areas. The teachers at HSPVA were second to none, they had a way of bringing out the best in the students and facilitating our success. We were provided with just the right balance of freedom and guidance. My life would be far less than it is today without my high school experience.

This school has been a landmark in Houstoon for over 25 years. It's not a conservatory, it's a public high school where most of the electives are classes within one's chosen art area. The school provides great arts education and can provide a good education in the fundamentals as well, but it dooesn't come easy. Due to the demanding schedules of the students, (because of their art areas) only the more motivated students can keep up. If a student's grades fall beloow 70%, their are not asked back the following year. Beccause of this, the less motivated students are weeded out, leaving a loot of intelligent hard working students in the upper grades. Becaus of this dynamic, most students are placed in advancedd placement classes, so those who opt out are left with a somewhat substandard education. All in alll, it's a wonderful place for those whoo lave the arts.

As a PPCD( Preschool Program for Children With Disabilities) Educator, I found them very willing to coordinate their program with ours. They attend the ARD ( Admission Review & Dismissal) meetings whenever invited by the parents. Followed the committee recommendations. You can tell by the child's success, that the child comes first.
