I loved the City People's on Capitol Hill. Since they closed it, I have gone to the madison valley location and have since stopped shopping there. The staff is very rude and not particularly helpful. I used to go to get plants and cute things for my garden but have found that I do not want to deal with the snotty employees. Home Depot may not be whimsical, but the staff is nice and they answer your questions.

They have a great menu (mix of the standards and some twists) delicious coffee and kind and attentive service. I would reccommend everyone try this Tom Douglass hot spot in the AM next time!!

I have been to the U-Village Inspa on a number of occasions and have not been impressed in the least by their services. Best case scenario: you are hustled through your service with very little interaction form your practitioner who is friendly but cool. Worst case scenario: the practitioner is rude, late and cuts your service short, or complains the whole time about how it sucks to work at Inspa (yes this happened to me!). I do not care if they are less expensive, the services definitely reflect that and are disappointing at best.

This is a great new Caribbean restaurant in Columbia City. The decor makes you feel as though you are sitting on a tropical beach. The oven fried chicken was delicious and the Guyanese pepper pot was amazing (get it with a side of cassava...so delicious!!) The bread pudding was fantastic, even if it looks a bit lonely on the plate. I would recommend checking this place out...they have a darling bar and an interesting and exotic wine selection too!!

I think Pete's has the best wine selection. You can get a great bottle of wine in any price range. A perfect stop before a dinner party!

I love Trader Joe's, they have interesting new foods to try out and a generally fun store to shop around in. The prices are reasonable and the employees are always very nice.......my only contention is their parking lots! I do not drive a large car and it still takes manuvering to avoid hitting a cement post. I say enjoy the shopping but park on the street.
