This was absolutely the worst food I've had in the 5 years I've been in Seattle. There was little to no flavor. The ingredients were not fresh. We ordered Fried yucca with parmesan - the dish came out room temp. I ordered feijoada, which is the brazilian national dish. Feijoada was on just about every menu I saw in Brazil and I was excited to see it here. It came out very traditionally prepared (visually, at least). There was a mound of rice sitting next to some flash fried collard greens and some orange slices on the side followed by a clay bowl containing some sort of bean-y looking mixture. The bean-y looking mixture was supposed to have very flavorful ingredients (clove, vinegar, chorizo, smoked ham, etc) - it tasted like canned black beans with kielbasa that had somehow had the flavor extracted. And on top of that, it had some mysterious bones in it - no real additional meat, just bones. And then the bill came... we had 1 app, 2 alcoholic drinks, 1 juice, and 2 main dishes - our bill was 60 bucks. We felt like we'd been robbed. It was awful. We will never go back there.

My family and I went to Julia's on a Saturday morning at about 11 AM. The place was packed. We signed in on the sheet and sat down to wait. The hostess came by and called in the people who were ahead of us. After waiting for about 25 minutes and seeing the crowd thin, we knew we were next. Then a group of 4 came in, took one look at the list, and walked right in to the restaurant and sat down. The hostess went over and said hello and brought them water. Another 10 minutes later, we were called. There are possible explanations for this (beyond what it looks like), so I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt on that one.
Then we were seated. We knew what we wanted and were hoping to just put in our order with the hostess. She wouldn't take our order. Another 10 minutes later, our server shows up and takes our order - at which point, I had to ask for refills on water. It then takes our food close to 25 minutes to arrive. And my water was empty again.
The food was ok. It certainly wasn't bad. But the only thing that made the food memorable was the terrible service that surrounded it. I tried the eggs benedict, the buckwheat pancakes, and the belgian waffle. My family and I all had the same experience - bland food.
The fastest service we got was when we asked for our bill. She was like a ninja. I asked for the bill and 30 seconds later, she appears out of nowhere. As soon as she dropped of the bill, she was motioning to the hostess that our table was going to be available.
I won't be going back to Julia's.

I really enjoyed our time at the Dahlia Lounge - but mostly because of the excellent service and romantic atmosphere. I wasn't real impressed with the food. I love Tom Douglas' food normally, and clearly Dahlia uses quality products in their dishes. But overall, the flavors were mediocre and safe. Overall, it was a good experience, but I would rather go to Lola's to experience Tom Douglas' cuisine.

I've worked right next door to these guys for 2.5 years now and I just discovered them in the last 2 weeks. They don't advertise, and they're fairly tucked away next to Gold's Gym in the convention center. I went in for a protein shake and it was delicious - blueberries, banana, yogurt, flax oil, and vanilla protein. I was hooked just on the shake alone, but then I tried the food. Not only is the food great, but it's healthy. And the people are incredibly friendly.

Snappy Dragon was a recommendation from a friend - probably a place I wouldn't have visited on my own - the first time we ate their food, we called for delivery - we had no menu and no idea of what they had to offer - when we asked for suggestions, they were very friendly and thanked us for being first timers - their customer service is excellent
They suggested we have the hand made chow mein and a dish called "Ants climbing a tree" - the food was incredible - all of us knew we should stop eating, but we couldn't - I think their food is actually addictive
Anyway, I could go on and on about how wonderful their food is - bottom line? Highly recommended

When I first discovered this place, my wife and I went twice a week for nearly a month. We coaxed our friends and family into going, we went by ourselves, and we took our 6 year old son. Every combination yielded a great time at La Medusa. We had nearly every dish on the menu last season (we have some catching up to do this season). I'd recommend just about anything they serve. They even brought out a lump of uncooked bread dough for my son to play with and shape into something clever before they baked it (to his delight of course). It is a friendly place with great food, great wine, great people.... just great all around.

I love this place, and I am definitely a food snob. The food is remarkable. The first time I was there, I had a pork tandoori that was very tender and juicy. The drinks are great too - they have a lavender infused vodka that makes an excellent martini. They also have Cachaca, so they can make Caipirinhas.
The atmosphere is very well put together with colorful puffy squares affixed to the ceiling, bottles of wine stored on shelves all around the room, and warm tones throughout. The only thing that could do with improvement (in my humble opinion) is the seating. The chairs were fairly uncomfortable.
Bottom line? Highly recommended.
