In a desperate search for an iTrip (card adapter for iPod that lets you play it through radio stations), I called Mikey's and they had one available. They quoted me $39.99 over the phone, and I said I would come right over to pick it up. I had already called a few other stores to see what they had, and all the stores quoted me at least $49.99.
I show up at Mikey's, and am told "oh, sorry, that's now $49.99." Since I no longer had the time to trek into the city and pick up a different one, I bought it. I think that the worst part is that when I got home, the tag on the package still said $39.99! They didn't even bother to masquerade the fact that they were purposefully ripping me off.
