I'm so sick of these crappy bakeries with beautiful but gummy cookies. I don't want poor excuses for pastries made with fake, vegan margarine that tastes like bird feed. Gimme butter. Gimme chocolate. Gimme Baked. They seriously have the BEST chocolate chunk cookie I've ever had. They do not mess around. It's a problem for me and my waistline.
Pros: Great baked stuff, real ingredients
Cons: All the way in Red Hook

The food at Le Petit is excellent. I couldn't think of a better brunch spot in the neighborhood and the ambience and design of the space is very original and unique.
Pros: Excellent Brunch.
Cons: It's busy on weekends

ozzie's rules! their coffee is really really good, and i like the espresso too. i like both stores - the 7th ave store is closer to my apartment, but i'll go to the 5th ave place when i wanna spend lot of time. the people there are usually very cool to talk to and they open mad early so i can get coffee before i hit the train.

The perfect little spot for tea and cake! And the flourless chocolate cake is to die for. Great if you need a cozy place to sit and relax, or if you need to pick up some goodies to go. A little on the pricey side, but worth if it you have a serious sweet tooth.

To everyone badmouthing the tea lounge,
I just want to say (and clarify) a few things...
I work there for one. Maybe you all should think about why the employees are disgruntled....we bust our asses and you people NEVER tip. Quite frankly, you think we're rude, but you're rude for never tipping us. We stand on our feet for 10 hour shifts, cleaning up your garbage that you're too lazy to bring up to the counter when you're done with it (we do not wait tables, it's a counter service establishment), and it's really unfair that after crafting your beverages to your liking, most of you don't have the decency to throw some money in the tip jar. After a while, we lose patience, and we lose the urge to keep smiling when we get treated like dirt the majority of the time. I can't account for every customer, because there are some really nice people the come in and strike up conversations with us, who DO tip, however, we're overworked and underpaid.
The Tea Lounge is an amazing place that is accommodating to the likes of many different types of people. My coworkers are ALL very intellectual and talented people who all have day jobs or school careers aside from working at the Tea Lounge. Maybe if you stopped to talk to some of them, you'd see that we're just trying to make ends meat just like everyone else, and if you were a wee bit nicer about your orders, or believed in gratuity, then you'd understand where we were coming from. Oh, and in regards to the vacuum comment, rest assured that we clean our little asses off every night. It's not our fault that the place is so trafficked, it get's dirty from the influx of people constantly moving in and out.
Thanks.

They have good espresso to work with (Leftist Blend), and more importantly, they know what to do with it. Thought they might slip a bit when Chris left for Atlanta, but Mike has held it together and they're still the kings (and queens) of Williamsburg for quality espressos and cappuccinos. Only gripe is we've found them closed at times around the holidays with no notice. Varietals selection also impressive and very good (had El Bergel CoE last trip).
Pros: everything coffee, close to subway
Cons: if you're just passing thru NY it's not the easiest to get to

Both stores have their own and unique charm, while the 7th Ave location is more cozy and tends to get crowded faster (especially on weekends) is only due to the excelent coffee and funky ambiance that attracks everyone from movie directors, actors, writers, students, artists and people from all over.
They roast their own coffee on the premises so you can be sure that the coffee is always fresh and more importanly, equitable.
You can see the owners mingling around with the crowd and the people who works there most likely would now your name if you been there more than once. Apart from the wide selection of coffee and pastries you always get good and corteous service. The music is also great!
On the 5th Ave location you can find a more spacious and relaxed place where to study and have a nice chat, kids love it there too. Their coffee drinks are just amazing and delicious and with a very reasonable price. From their website or by phone you can also get your coffee ship anywhere in the US too.
Both locations are very well located in the heart of Park Slope, near everything so while you stroll down the beautiful streets and sidewalks of Park Slope make sure you make a stop at one of their locations to have the full Park Slope experience. You won't be dissapointed.
Pros: great coffee, great ambiance, fair price, excelent location to watch and meet people
Cons: gets very crowded on the weekends if that can be considered as a "cons"

Starbucks has the best coffee containing beverages as well as iced tea coctails compared to its competitors. The drinks that I enjoyed most are black tea lemonade, as well as mocha coconut that was a seasonal beverage sold in 2003. Starbucks is not only a coffee shop, it is a place with a delightful atmosphere where people come to study, converse and use their laptops since internet access is available.

One block away from the famouos Raspution restaurant, you will find this tastefully designed desert place. The fresh-made crepes were one of the best I ever ate. If you do errands in this area, make sure to stop by and get refreshed.

Cute clothes and a friendly staff are the two most alluring aspects of Flirt. Of course, the inexpensive prices don't hurt any either.
If you're going to stop by, make a point to do so on a Thursday if you can for that's the day new merchandise arrives. After all, nothing beats taking first crack at a new shipment of clothing and accessories.
