I found Brooklyn Eyeworks about a year ago, right here on Citysearch. (I already had a prescription from my eye doctor and I already had frames that were only about one year old, so I just needed to have new lenses made). Dan was a *super-nice* guy; incredibly pleasant.
Pros: Terrific, friendly service

As a patient of Dr. Teichman for over 12 years, I can say that he and his office have successfully diagnosed and treated every dental concern that I have had, from basic "repair and maintenance" to the complexity of a root canal.
From a purely clinical standpoint, a visit to this office is exactly what a patient would want--current technology in terms of equipment and knowledge, spot-on diagnosis, and efficient, pain-free execution of necessary work. The office also provides a comfortable physical environment, and as a pleasant bonus, a friendly, concerned staff.
For a number of years after a friend in the neighborhood recommended Dr. Teichman, most of my visits were for cleaning and check-ups. Denise is a highly skilled hygienist, and a pleasant, positive person who clearly cares about her work and her patients. She has also administered the Zoom cleaning, which was well worth it. Recently, as my "pre-teichman" crowns have been wearing out, more extensive work has been required. All necessary work is performed quickly and efficiently by Dr. Teichman. In addition, his willingness to explain his diagnoses and any options available is always appreciated. This extra concern for the patient is pretty rare these days in medicine. Many professionals don't seem to want to take the time to explain or listen. Finally, on the administrative side, Sophia always will happily answer questions about billings and insurance benefits, and accommodate one's schedule for visits. This is an office which has everything a patient could want or need in dental care.
Pros: technology, execution, comfort

Being a guy I am always a little apprehensive about new yoga studios. However this place was very welcoming . I first called the place on Saturday to get a better feel of the studio and left a message. I received a call back the next day where this very friendly and funny person help put my feelings at ease. She understood where I was coming for as a Guy and my concerns and assured me that the place was friendly. When I arrived everyone was out going - the owner came of and introduced herself and talked about the different classes. The instructed was very helpful and the class was challenging. A definite return

The service was perfect. I walked in and felt no pressure to buy anything in the store even though I must have tried on 50 pairs of glasses. The staff let me do my thing until I asked for help at which point they were VERY helpful. Good selection in styles and price. I'll definitely go there for my next pair of glasses (and I'm very picky).
Pros: great staff, good selection
Cons: in park slope

I needed to find a vet for my new dog and was confused as to where to go = first time dog owner. Without mentioning names, the vet choices were: prospect park west, 7th avenue, 6th avenue, and Park Slope Veterinary Care on 5th avenue. Talking to customers in the waiting area and meeting Dr. Vinitsky, I am sooooooooooo glad I choose Park Slope Veterinary Care. Citysearch reviews also helped make my decision. Full disclosure on prices and no pressure discussion on procedures. I trully feel confident in their suggestions and can concentrate on enjoying my newest family member.
Pros: Real pet people taking care of your pets.
Cons: None

Dr. Stephen Brigande is the best vet I've ever met. His compassion, knowledge, patience, and genuine love for animals makes him so special. The entire staff at St. Francis is top-notch. After each and every visit, they call the next day, to check in---even if we took our dog just for a check-up! We have a German Shepherd, and they easily accommodate a dog of his size, and Dr. Brigande takes his time with us, explains everything, and has made us (and our dog) feel very comfortable. Our cat sees Dr. Thompson, who is also great. After a horrible experience at another vet, I am lucky to have found Dr. Brigande and St. Francis, and truly consider them a Godsend. I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone.

I treated myself to a last minute birthday massage by calling AREA at around 3pm in the middle of a snowstorm. They didn't have any appointments available, but he said he would try to get me a therapist to come in just for me.
Robert, the massage therapist, was friendly, kind, intuitive and most importantly the best massage therapist I have ever had the pleasure of having worked on me. And I've had TONS of massages in chi-chi spas around the country--nothing beats the casual, friendly vibe of AREA and the service was top notch. Not only that the accomodation of my last minute appointment is virtually unheard of in the spa industry. A MUST for anyone in need of relaxation--ask for Robert, he is THE BEST!
Pros: Inexpensive, Free Yoga Class, Professional Staff
