Needed a place for four days to stay with my girlfriend. Nothing fancy, but comfortable, close to F train going to Manhattan. Fine shopping and restaurants. Good service and cheap. Managed in a single room and saved $20 a day. My girl was happy, all I care.

Story Book land Nursery School is located near the main shopping street of 86th street and next to private residential homes. The owner actually transformed an actual house into a nursery home to children. Outside, there is a large banner displayed the Story Book logo in baby blues and pink lettering. Inside is a well decorated and full of toys and play kitchens and tables for the children to amuse themselves with. Adorned on the walls are the children's artwork and drawings. It is a great place for the kids to spend the day.

I booked a suite for my parents when they visited from out of town. The rooms were kept clean and neat. The concierge was always eager to help with all of my parents needs. The hotels lobby was quite decorative and pleasing to the eye. There were no amenities but there was a mini bar in the room. My parents stay was quite pleasant and had no negative experiences. The rooms were quite expensive compared to a holiday inn. I would book a suite for my parents or any family member in the future.

My wife and I have stayed at the Hotel on two separate occasions, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay both times. You can't beat it for the money and location. The rooms are a decent size, clean, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. The lobby is amazing.

We stayed here while visiting relatives who live a few blocks away. This is a charming brownstone right on the edge of the park, which has been lovingly decorated in the European style. Antiques and original oil paintings and lush fabrics are everywhere. But the reception is warm and hospitable. Breakfast is a sit down gourmet affair, hosted by the charming and convivial Linda, who has educated herself remarkably on the neighborhood and the history of Park Slope in general. She will entertain her guests with interesting stories about the house and its various owners since the turn of the century if asked. Super comfortable beds, gorgeous sitting areas, kitchen downstairs with yogurts and healthful treats available anytime. Well worth the price, which is reasonable by New York standards, especially since many "B&Bs" do not include breakfast at all. We thoroughly enjoyed our three nights there. Highly recommended.

Akwaaba, which means Welcome in the Ghana language is synonymous with comfort and elegance all hidden away right here in Brooklyn!
Ever wanted to go away without leaving the area? Need someplace to relax and act like a tourist while being pampered?? Akwaaba is the place for you. Akwaaba Mansion is an elegant 18 room restored 1860??s Italian villa with an Afrocentric touch. This lovely mansion features exquisite architectural details, including 14-foot ceilings and ornate fireplaces. Located in historic Stuyvesant Heights, Akwaaba Mansion is nestled in a quiet tree-lined community with some of the city's finest brownstones. The historic neighborhood is rich in culture, and the excitement of Manhattan is only 20 minutes away by subway or car. We used Akwaaba recently for a family get together (we ran out of space) and our relatives wanted an alternative to a pricey hotel.
This place is highly recommended. You have Private baths with Jacuzzis, Afternoon tea, personal concierge, hearty breakfasts and genuinely personable staff to help you.
PROS: Beautiful Establishment, Gracious Staff, Happy Experience
CONS: None
