Horrific care!!! Rescue dogs are treated better..Had to take my father off of life support and was assured he would be kept comfortable during his final days. Walked in to find him thrashing in the bed and was told by the doctor 'this is nothing, you should have seen him an hour ago'. Needed to call every 3 hours to make sure he was given his medication and then he still was not! Screamed at the hospital administrator, reassured by 5 different doctors they would fix it, they never did. The nurses were TERRIBLE!!! One doctor hung up on me, one nurse hung up on me, one nurse said he seemed a little more alert today (he was in the final stages of dying!!!!). Disgusting, inhumane treatment of another human being. I cannot tell you how upsetting it was to have someone die in this hospital. They should be shut down. Absolutely reprehensible. RUN FROM THIS PLACE. Disgusting treatment by apathetic, unsympathetic, filthy, uneducated morons. I will be lodging complaints with medicare, the state, and anyone else with the power to close them down. No one should ever be subjected to this place again. more

Nora Cami from ER 1/23/2012

I am not going to tell about something like being left without medical assistance or a doctor?s mistake that caused more troubles. The reason I needed to be seeing at ER on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at late afternoon was very simple: reading my TB skin test which was administered on Friday, January, 13th. And, yes, being deeply offended and insulted by the staff before the PPD was read is something that needs to be said out loud to the world. There are names: Nora Cami, Clerical II, and nurse Bystrickaya (both - ER). If you - whoever is going to read these lines - expecting to know what happened, I am not going to go over, but have to affirm that there was nothing said or done from my side what might cause to get unprofessional attitude and unsuitable comments with harsh tone of voice from the mentioned above staff. Unfortunately, I did get it all. Any way, it is not about the staff which made me feel completely down and disgraced for their mistakes before the test, actually, was read. It is about the hospital management from the top to the bottom. Have those people heard about what type of professional conduct their employees display in the work setting? Have the management and employees ever heard about at least basic knowledge of simple ethical standards for delivering medical care? Does management have ability and desire to hire the new employees and train them at least simple verbal communication and interpersonal skills or at least just to remind the new staff about not humiliating patients? I am wondering, if nurse Bystrickaya has sense of obligation to learn and speak basic English instead of being angry at the patients for her inability to communicate properly? I would want to know by what way Ms. Cami communicates with her mother, direct supervisor, father, co-workers, boyfriend/husband, neighbors, and etc. or because I am a patient and she doesn?t consider me as a valuable human being? Ms. Cami, I am twice as old as you are and didn?t appreciate seeing your angry face in the window #4. Do you think your behavior I encountered with on January 15th reflect positively the hospital? The same question to ask the top management. more

Do not go there. Never. 10/27/2011

I value my time enough for not spending it on writing and posting on the web. However, I do it, and not for myself, but for others. I wish I could put the whole story on here, but at least some names, facts, and dates to be mentioned will be enough. Here it is. The clerk more

If you want to live, do NOT go to Coney Island Hospital 8/26/2009

Rating: 0 Pros: Non Cons: Too many to list more

HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 7/15/2009

If I had a choice to give this rating a 0 or minus zero I totally would. I saw numerous rodents (deadddd ones) in the restrooms, no joke. I was treated way sooooooooo horribly here so I signed myself out as I'm an adult. so I got over on them. The boss you around, much of the staff is spanish and black. The staff members currrrrsed me and my mother out. They made complaints about my medicaid (Americhoice) insurance. This place isn't fun. you hear crazy patients screaming non-stop. They don't help you when you panic or have anxiety or when you are in serious pain. When my mommy was here several years ago they treated her live a savage. We will never EVER go back. The rook money from you, and you have to wait long hours to been seen by a doctor or even a nurse Pros: You are lucky to come out alive Cons: Mean staff, mean nurses, non proper care, dirty more
