CVP is, first and foremost, a bar - and not a particularly classy one. Accordingly, their menu consists of not-particularly-classy bar food, served in a manner that seems to say ""oh well, you're here getting drunk anyway; we may as well give you some food while we're at it"". Since I live just a few doors down, it's a convenient place to grab a sandwich or a baked potato and salad while I'm running errands, and though I've never left the place with stars dancing on my tongue, the food is usually serviceable. Make sure the wait staff knows you're there, though; they don't go out of their way to look for work to do, and tend to lounge around at the bar doing crosswords and chatting with the bartenders unless you get their attention.
Pros: Reasonable prices; kitchen is open late
Cons: Service can be less than enthusiastic; limited options for vegetarians; food is strictly utilitarian
