Horrible place!! 10/7/2011

I used to like this place but tonight I went there with 5 people and we got kicked out because one of my friends didn't tip, even though the rest of us tipped well. Seriously, who ever heard of a group of paying customers out because of not tipping!!! more

What a disappointment - will never return 5/20/2011

I've been coming to the Zombie Hut for many years although never with such as large a group as I did this time. I always love going and LOVE their drinks and outdoor seating. However, my most recent experience there last weekend will be my last. I was with a large group of people for my birthday who didn't quite fit in with the rest of the crowd there. After drinking for a few hours, we were asked to leave because a guy who worked there smelled pot. It was assumed that it was us because of how we looked. We were stunned and told him that he had it wrong and it wasn't us. After that, he got the bartender, who then told us that the whole group had to leave. Who kicks out 25 people from a bar on Saturday night on an assumption?? I guess it was okay cause we had been there a few hours spending our money. I didn't make a big deal about it cause we just walked to a bar down the block. I'm thoroughly disappointed with Zombie Hut. So if you don't fit the mold of ""hipster"" - I suggest you don't go there because they will target you to get kicked out - only after you've spent some money. more

Nice and relaxing 4/28/2010

Finally, there is a place, where a female audience gets to enjoy the sight of good-looking guys behind the bar. Nice cocktail menu for those who like it sweet. A little overpriced whiskey selection, but cheap beers. Pros: great atmosphere, hot bartenders Cons: too many frat boys more

Swizzle sticks & Games!! 4/27/2009

Love this spot... spacious backyard garden... dark and cozy.... good cheap drinks... forgot how enjoyable it is to play classic board/card games with friends.. Pros: Cheap drinks, garden, games... Uno, Connect 4.... Cons: Slow/spacey bartenders, no snacks/food more

The frozen zombie 2/19/2009

It was an overall good experience visiting the hut. I agree that there was nothing tiki about it, but the drinks were economical and the bar maid RENEE was friendly and inviting. The best place in the h1t had got to be in the back near the fireplace. Overall the zombie hut was a satisfying moment. Also the music was something to be ""desired"" for more

Sighting of the duke 3/7/2008

On certain nights if you're lucky you just might catch a man known as the fierce Mr. Raul Duke drunk off fruity girly drinks flamingo dancing to the musical stylings of InXS. After numerous zombies watch as he jives up to numerous women smelling each ones hair then tells anyone close enough that he could take any woman in the bar to get chicken parm them feel them up on the pier. Watch closely when he whips out his bill fold and you just might glimpse his treasured picture of a shirtless Hugh Jackman loving pressed into his wallet. This might be the only chance to see his wallet as he will always tell you he has no cash as the bill comes. The man known as The Duke is a tight fisted man. As the night winds down he will exclaim in a slurred raspy voice his overwhelming desire for pregnant woman he would marry if only a few years older. (Sorry to get off topic but the bar does have good drinks and a nice staff.) Pros: Long hair Cons: No pregnant women more

nothing tiki about it 1/12/2008

decent drinks and yes the girls behind the bar are cute (attracting a largely frat-boy crowd if that's your thing) but the decor is so seriously non-authentic they should just re-do the place as something entirely different. Try Wakiki Wally's (glitzy) or Otto's Shrunken Head (divey) in the East Village for more authentic parphernalia. Otherwise there are way better establishments more deserving of your money in the area (Brooklyn Social for the cocktails and old-school glamour, Boat for the jukebox, Magnetic Field for the live music, etc., etc.) more

Tiki bar with nasty bartenders 12/14/2007

The owner is a real piece of tool. Forget about a buyback. The drinks are pretty gross and so is the crowd. If you sit in the yard during the summer youll probably get plummitted with eggs. The owner doesnt care either. Pros: ? Cons: theme. owner more

Proo22 must have been at Broome Doggs! 5/4/2006

You HAVE to come to ""The Hut"" and enjoy everything they have to offer. The most fun is watching the new patrons drink their first zombie- when everyone but them knows what the surprise is. The staff is fun and sexy, and even though there is no dance floor, after a few drinks EVERYBODY is shaking their booty just a little bit more! 17 out of 18 reviews got it just right. Pros: sexy bartenders, great drinks more

A tiki bar you shouldn't be afraid of. 4/28/2006

I'm used to those midtown fratty tiki bars that are filled with obnoxious high fivers and loud women huddled around a flaming bowl of booze waiting to get picked up by aforementioned meatheads. This is not that place. Maybe it's because of it's location in Brooklyn, but Zombie Hut are filled with sweet regulars and witty staff, which makes it a great option after work or on weeknights to say, a regular beer bar. Mai Tais and Frozen Zombies are so good, and sometimes necessary. I like taking my friends from out of town here. Maybe the weekend are nuts, I dunno, I stick to the weeknight ritual myself. Pros: fun drinks, inexpensive, pretty room Cons: sugar hangovers more

Avoid at all costs! 10/16/2005

Loud frathouse-style bar. You will be annoyed by the selection of jarheaded clientele. Poor service and supervision. Why go here? Avoid. more

it doesn't get better than the hut!! 9/14/2005

I love this place! No matter what time of night I show up ,there is a friendly face and good conversation waiting for me. The bartenders show me and my lady much love and always pour a mean drink. Kim makes the best martinis in Brooklyn! Rock on Zombies! Pros: Good Crowd, Bartenders, Cheap Cons: Hangovers more

Zombie 8/30/2005

I love this place! Whether you actually are a regular at this bar or not, you'll feel like one by the time your night is done. Stopped by for a few drinks on a Monday and there was a pretty decent crowd. Kim the bartender was great! She made some solid drinks, and kept the place pretty lively. She also made sure that everyone was enjoying themselves. Just watch out for the goldfish snacks that are left on the bar. Before you know it, an entire bowl could be gone. Pros: friendly, inexpensive, bartenders Cons: u will have to leave , no credit cards more
