Finally, there is a place, where a female audience gets to enjoy the sight of good-looking guys behind the bar. Nice cocktail menu for those who like it sweet. A little overpri...

what happened/ 8/13/2004

That is usually what I am saying the morning after leaving this place. Cool spot, good drinks, fun especially in the winter when its snowing out, you feel like your in hawaii. Pros: Drink selections, PBRs more

Great! 5/2/2004

So much fun! My friend and I arrived on a Saturday night around midnight-the bar was full, but not crowded-and we were able to find an open table within 10 minutes. Drinks were extremely innovative and didn't break the bank. The crowd was friendly and unpretentious. A true gem! Pros: drinks, atmosphere more

Come to Brooklyn 1/12/2003

Great for a fun night out drinking fun exotic drinks. Have a few Zombie's and hope you can find the F train. Pros: Fun Drinks, Nice Bartenders, No cover Cons: Can be Crowded, No credit cards more

Tiki Torch lights up Smith Street 12/20/2002

Brenda the bartender sure knows how to set em up and we knock 'em down! What am I talking about Lemon drop shots in mini tiki shot glasses..on fire. In addition, the Mai Tais are yummy, the crowd laid back, and the Zombie Hut cozy, especially by the fireplace. They also have PBR in a can for less than a sawbuck, what more can you ask for? Will go back for sure. Pros: Drinks, Atmosphere, Inexpensive Cons: Hangovers more

Adventurous bartenders! 11/17/2002

Zombie Hut rates high in my book. Friendly bartenders, creative drinks and pleasing garnishes add a little spice to a night out. There was a mixed crowd with couple gravitating toward the back and a rowdy band of corporate flunkies drinking from Scorpion bowls crowding the middle. We hung out near the front where we could speak to the bartender and make music requests. Pros: Decor, Bartender, Free snacks Cons: Small more

Great Service 11/14/2002

This is a cute little place with a dark but upbeat design specilizing in exotic drinks without exotic prices. I spoke to both the bartender and the owner and everyone was very friendly. more

All about the goldfish 11/14/2002

Cute, small bar with great decor. Drinks are tasty, inexpensive, and usually come with a cute plastic monkey or Palm tree. My favorite thing about this place are the bowls of cheddar and pretzal goldfish. Rarely can you find free snacks at bars anymore... Pros: Cool tiki vibe, inexpensive, owner is cool Cons: other people (snicker more

Their Frozen Zombies are ALL THAT! 11/6/2002

This spot is definitely hot. I really enjoy the atmosphere and the Frozen Zombie Twosome, is the best drink to get a nice buzz going. It is really small but its still worth the time to check it out and to have a Frozen Zombie. Pros: Friendly staff, Inexpensive drinks Cons: The place is to small more

Escaped from Brooklyn 10/31/2002

I can't say enough about this bar. Smith St. seems to have a new bar opening every other week and most don't seem to add much to the strip. Tiki Hut, however, is a welcome and novel addition. While small, the decoration is first-rate ersatz Polynesian. The specialty drinks are tasty and inexpensive (and the Tiki decor makes it OK for straight men to suck down mai tais all night). To boot, the owner seems to have great taste in music. Tuesday appears to be music night and the small ensembles have been great the last two times I was there. No kitchen, but the friendly bartenders constantly replenish the bowls of cheddar and pretzel goldfish. The Scorpion bowl for two is great for a date (I'd recommend buying the one for four, as it goes quickly). If you're on Smith St. and enjoy ambiance, definitely check this place out. more

Bombie Zombie 10/31/2002

I have lived in this neighborhood for more than 10 years and have seen the rebirth of Smith St. While there are many great spots in the hood, this is a last ditch attempt to cash in on the hype. This bar used to be a separate area of the neighboring Uncle Pho's (which is also overpriced for the quality of the food & the service is awful). If your gonna add another bar on the strip, don't try so hard. Take a stroll in either direction of Smith St. & you'll find better places to wet your whistle, like Sherwood Forest, Trixies, or Angry Wade's. Pros: Better bars nearby Cons: Overpriced, Rude staff, Wannabe trendies more
