VEGAN soft-serve is to die for - in rotating flavors like mint chocolate chip and pumpkin pie. Cute selection of bubble teas with chewy tapioca, cuter servers.

Toy Joy has the best selection of unique toys and gift items. They have just about anything that you could ever want when looking for a gift for someone or a toy for a very picky child. Toy Joy is exactly what a toy store should be and it is wonderful to support a local business when you purchase items from here. more

Great place if you are looking for sensory overload 3/21/2006

Toy Joy is a kitchy toy store on the drag that caters to college aged kids with disposable income but also sells some cool stuff for younger and older kids as well. They generally have a nice selection of the über-expensive Haba wooden toys for babies and other youngn's. I've also found fun picture frames and magnets there for unique, not-so-expensive gifts. more

If you are looking for a gift, you are sure to find it here! I love going just to look around...it makes any bad day much better. Funky little fun store. They have odd toys you are sure not to find anywhere else. This would be a great place to find gifts for the young and old alike! I enjoy picking out stocking stuffers here! more

Child's dream 10/31/2005

Toy Joy has so many hard to find toys and trinkets. They have tons of bouncy balls, pens, cars, infant toys, adult toys, lamps, mobiles, rings, magnets, and just plain silly toys. They carry some really cool hand bags and purses as well. Go to Toy Joy to find gifts for those hard to buy for friends! more

These Toys are a Joy! 10/13/2005

This is one of the most unusual toy stores in the Austin area and where else can you go in and browse for long periods of time looking at Toys (not the newer battery operated toys either). They have a variety of Toys like toy soldiers, clocks, pursesn novelty items and candy. The building is in on the corner and that's a sight in itself. It's truely a joy to see some of the older toys still being sold here. more

Toy Joy is a wacky little place right on the corner of Guadalupe. The first time I came here my friends had to drag me out! There's so many cute little bits and pieces everywhere. The store is literally stuffed with toys. I'd always go here whenever I needed stocking stuffers or that perfect little odd gift for someone. (And somehow I'd also end up with yards of stickers for me) more

I love Toy Joy! They've got all sorts of unique toys and knick knacks. It's a place for people of all ages. If you've never been to Toy Joy then you must! It's fun to browse around the store and find lots of weird things that you will find at no other place. more

Great Small Toy store! 9/13/2005

Toy Joy is a great place to spend time in just walking around. They carry toys and novelty items, most you won't find anywhere else. The people are always happy and helpful. You can play with the stuff and they don't get upset either. They carry Teddy bears, yo-yo's, tops and stuff you haven't seen for awhile when times we simplier! And joke items, remember those? more

Variety of Unusual Toys & Novelties! 9/11/2005

Toy Joy is the one place in Austin I can count on finding unusual toys and novelty items. It's a fun place to browse for gifts for hard to buy people. The people are friendly and really enjoy being there and helping you. They carry small simple toys (I remember playing with when I was kid) and it brings back some sweet memories. Far cry from the large chain toy stores! more

Toy Joy is the mother of all independent toy stores in Austin, At Toy Joy you'll find everything you're looking for toy wise. Here they have both ironic kitsch stuff that's great for displaying around your house as well as good old fashion stuff for the kids. They have a good selection of educational stuff for your little genius. Toy joy also has a great selection of import toys from Asia (mostly Japan) where they always seem to be about 2 or 3 years ahead of us in cool toys. However my favorite thing about toy joy is the candy and stickers. Cool candy that you've never seen before and any kind of sticker you can imagine. Don't have kids? Who cares, go to Toy Joy and you'll feel like one yourself. more

Toy Joy is an eclectic and wonderful toy store for everyone !! They had great toys for kids and old school toys for adults. If you need a weird, funky toy – this is the place to look. It is fun just to go in and walk around and look at everything in this place. more

Toy joy is a store not only for kids, but also for adult. The whole store is full of joy, you can see vivid colors, lots of fun toys, and the stuff is fun and friendly. Fun for big kids! This eclectic little toy store near the UT campus is a great place to calm down and relax from the daily stresses of campus life. You will find the neatest gadgets and coolest toys that you won't find in any neighborhood chain. Be sure to grab some knick-knacks as party favors or bring them back to the dorm to share with your friends during finals!! more

At the corner of Guadalupe and 29th you'll find a crazy Austin store by the name of TOY JOY. This place is filled with all sorts of crazy toys and gadgets, but for all ages really. The place is older but a great adventure to embark on any night. Be prepared to shuffle through stuff for a hidden treasure! more

Not just for Kids/babies 8/16/2005

Do you work in a cubicle but watch Sponge bob squarepants on your days off? Then Toy Joy is a store for you. Really , this is a store for anyone who isn't completely humorless. They have a wide range of products including educational toys from europe, zany games, kitchy decor items, penny (not really) toys, fashion accessories, stationary, candy, puzzles, and furnishes...and that's just to start!!! When I was a freshman in college I bought this weird bubble bear from Germany... he freaked my friends out-- while 5.95 might seem pricey for bubbles, this bear provided 4 years of continous enjoyment. i wonder what happened to him.... Last time i was their i bought a hair clippy in the shape of a fairy, i teeny tiny (but very detailed) plastic baby and a fuzzy poodle. This place is typical austin-- bohemian, overwhelming, and completely wonderful. more

This is a wonderful toy store on the drag. you will find all of your inner child's wishes just a couple blocks north of campus. In Toy Joy they have such a diverse selection of toys, minus all the nintendows and playstations and such. This is a store for real toys!. You'll find all sorts of toys you have never seen before. Also, the staff is super friendly and helpful. Definately an Austin place. more

Find that perfect, eccentric gift 8/4/2005

Toy Joy is by far one of my favorite stores I've EVER been to. It's very Austin. Weird, fun, crazy, silly and completely random. It's just fun to go there and look around. It's like your toy chest as a kid took acid and exploded all over the place! They have fun toys and gadgets from all over the world. There is always something new and exciting every time you go. They have a large selection of rare candy which is very awesome. They have toys for babies and toys for grown ups. You can definitely find something for anyone here. I'm a big fan of the Devil Duckie line, they have tons of stuff. Watch out though, it's very easy to spend way too much money here! Oh yes, and they have FREE gift wrap which is awesome and comes in handy around the holidays. Sometimes I buy something for myself and have it wrapped just for the hell of it :o) more

NOT JUST FOR KIDS 7/31/2005

This is the best toy store out there. They have the wackiest most unique toys you can find. They also sell wrapping paper, stickers, jewelry. The store is so colorful and decked out your eyes won't know where to land next. The staff is very laid back and friendly. Best part is they're open 24 hours! more

Unique Toy Store, Good for Kids and Adults! 7/30/2005

This is as Austin as a toy store can get. I have been shopping here for years and am still not tired of it. Bored on a Friday night? Go to Toy Joy and see what's around. It's hard not to leave with something in your hands. They have bonafide kids toys as well as novelties like wind-up sushi. They also have fun jewelry, bouncy balls, retro candy, stickers galore, retro toys, stuffed animals, rubber pets, hand chairs and so much more. It's amazing how much stuff they can fit into their store. You will never run out of things to peruse. more
