Magnolia's location on Lake Austin Blvd is simply delightful. It manages to be tucked back into trees and nature despite is convenient location. Ask to sit on the patio where you can enjoy the "nature" with all the other breakfasters.
Although Magnolia is a competitor of the ever popular Kerbey Lane, their food and ambiance are different, and I have to say- I like it better for breakfast. (some people don't, and certainly the gingerbread pancakes at kerbey have their place in any breakfast lovers repetoire). The omelettes never disapoint and adding cherries and pecans to pancakes is inspired (you can make your own gourmet combo from a list of available ingredients).
This local favorite can get very crowded so be prepared to wait. Or, if you can't-- hit up the south congress location for 24 hours of yumyumyumminess.

I love having lunch here! I know this may sound like a place geared towards college kids, but it's actually a great place for everyone!! They serve a bit of Mexican and a bit of American. Everything on their menu is great- I have not found anything that I disliked yet. They do have the best breakfast quesidilla. You must try it!

This is one of my favorite spots for breakfast and lunch. They offer great baked goods from scratch and I think they are getting famous for their Italian Cream Cake. You will find a long line during the lucnh hour, bur it's worth the wait for a cup of tortilla soup. If you want the best cinnamon roll in town, it's best to get there early or you can call ahead and have them set a few aside for you.

You should definitely come here for gelato! Though they are a bit pricey, I think it is worth it because you can't get any better gelatos any where else. They also serve great coffee. Sometimes it is difficult to find parking but that never stops me from coming here. If you 've never been here, then you should stop by sometime for a refreshing snack.

It's saturday morning and you don't want a full breakfast, just a wonderful sweet roll and some coffee. This is the perfect time to get to Sweetish Hill Bakery- a local favorite. Sweetish hill offers a full line of breakfast pastries, including a killer sticky bun. They also offer fresh baked bread and gourmet desserts and bakery cake. They have some seating but not much, so get their early or late to beat the crowd. This is a family friendly place, so don't expect perfect silence during breakfast (oh, what did you expect with the cars zooming down sixth anyhow?)
This is also a nice place to stop after an afternoon of shopping.

Many regulars enjoy their delicious specialty coffees and fine baked goods, all made daily from scratch. Russell's also offers a selection of soups, salads and sandwiches which are available for dine-in or takeout. The bakery prides itself in making some beautiful and tasty wedding cakes as well. For all the fuss that there is about bakeries around Austin, there is only one place where I go for my sweet tooth - La Mexicana.
This Mexican bakery has every possible choice for authentic mexican pastries imaginable. They also have breakfast tacos and other lunch-fare as well as some tables inside. This means you can get your chorizo and egg taco and top it off with one (or two) of their chocolate conchas.
If you're in the mood for something sweet and comforting, this South-side bakery fits the bill.

Tiff’s Treats is one of the greatest businesses near the UT campus. Imagine, calling in an order and receiving cookies fresh out of the oven about 45 minutes later delivered to your door. Their prices are very reasonable and the delivery is free. Their cookies are delicious and they have about 12 different flavors and items you can choose from.

Okay, if my hubby kicked me out, I could literally live here and be happy. I don't know how happy the owners would be though. This place is like disneyland for bakers. It has every possible baking "toy" that a baker could want. You could spend days just looking at all of this stuff. The staff is always very helpful and answer yours questions. Though it is a bit pricey, this is the place to go if you want your stuff to look good. there's very few places that provide a one-stop shop for bakers.
