Great service staff. We had dinner in one of the new private dining rooms (table of ten, highly suggest securing the "small PDR" for a group this size, our waiter Doug was fantastic. Both the General Manager Jason and the Chef Ryan visited our table. We opted for the sushi platter as a starter and then I chose the roasted duck breat as my entree. While the food was exceptional, I found the wine list diverse with many great wines by the glass. My wife and I chose an Albarino at the staff's suggestion and it was absolutely delightful. (without breaking the bank). Highly recommend and we'll be back!
Pros: Great food with approachable wine list

I went to Lake Austin Spa Resort for a girlfriend's pre-wedding bachelorette party. We were looking for a place to relax and unwind before the big day and Lake Austin Spa was the perfect spot. The facility and grounds are beautiful and the pool is a great place to lounge. We all got different treatments and then relaxed by the pool and sunbathes. My massage was awesome and we even had lunch in their sunroom out by the pool which was delicious and healthy. It was a perfect day! I can't wait to go back!
Pros: Pool, Facility, Atmosphere

Stayed here on our wedding night. Granted, the service is good. They gave us complimentary chocolate strawberries. But, the room is old and not four star worthy. There was a dog barking in the next room (we called the desk and it was eventually quieted), and it just wasn't as nice as the price would indicate. Only exception- the Four Seasons Cafe, the hotel's restaurant, is worth every penny. Absolutely divine food and service. Eat here, don't stay here.

They never let us down. We love staying here as well as just going for some drinks. We loved it so much that it's where my wife and I got married. We stayed there for a week along with our wedding party and everyone had nothing but great things to say about it. It's a great weekend getaway without leaving town.

Try the Shaqs BBQ Shrimp. They have a lot of alumni clubs watching games there. They have a great crew of bartenders. Lot's of drink specials every night. Whiskey Wednesdays are my favorite night because they have $3.50 Jack, Crowns, & Jamesons. Speaking of Jamesons on St. Patty's Day they're serving up $3.00 Irish Car Bombs. They recently starting picking up UFC. They need more fans for the fights so they are going to have to remind a lot more people out there that they are showing the fights. It's a great place for Rockets fans to hang out. The bar manager is from Houston & so he's good to Rockets folk. The kitchen is pretty quick. You only have wait times when they are slammed. During the Dallas / Greenbay game it was insane fun. The Thanksgiving game rocks as well because everyone else is closed. Good food & cheap drinks and lot's of friends just travelling through the hotel makes for good singles hang out.,

Neat little hotel in SoCo. Close to great places to eat and shop. Every room is different and you can view them all on the website before making a choice. Really cool. The staff is very friendly. If you go in the summer they have a good pool area - complete with a kidney shaped pool and lounge chairs. This is such a fun place. I plan on going back soon. While you are there, make sure to stop in for a bite to eat down the road at Guero's - it is withing walking distance.

We booked several rooms for UT graduation and were thrilled we choose someplace special. The front bellhop, valet service was efficient and friendly. The front desk staff was courteous and helpful. Trenton, the concierge, was doing a great job balancing several people at one time. He gave us great suggestions and was quite helpful. The bathroom lighting is dreadful, and I agree with a previous reviewer one has to go over by the window to put on make-up. The rooms are smallish, but they're lovely. I don't care for in-room coffee makers, having been a flight attendant and knowing some people wash their pantyhose, etc., in in-room coffeemakers. They hotel is beautifully decorated for Christmas, and the discreet presence of security was reassuring. The Capitol is close-by and a nice walk.
Pros: Great location and ambience
Cons: Price, bathroom lighting

My friend, her sister, and I recently returned to Chicago after a short stay at the Austin Motel. We stayed in the waterfall room, which was comfortable and cozy. The room was clean and had just the bare necessities (which was great because we mainly needed the room for sleeping). The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgable about Austin; they were able to recommend places to see and restaurants at which to eat. We happened to be there for the First Thursday so the area was a bit more happening than usual. It's just too bad we didn't have more time in Austin!
Pros: location, helpful staff

I was VERY impressed with my stay at Wyndham Garden. First of all they have a free airport shuttle, which I love, the food in the restaurant/room service is delish, and the location is a very short cab ride to 6th street so it's convienent yet affordable. The hotel is not super fancy, but still very cute (recently remodled I believe) with it's Austin Musician Themed halls, and extreamely comfortable---the beds are super fluffy and covered with so many pillows you just want to dive in and take a long nap! The little soaps & shampoos are Bath & Body works brand, and were a great little luxury at the end of a long day. In true Austin eco-fashion, the hotel is also very "green." They have a really cool way of keeping energy-efficient that you will just have to see for yourself... BUT the best thing about my stay was how accomodating the staff was...I spoke to one of the receptionists to ask directions to a drugstore, she checked the shuttle calandar (to make sure there were no guests checking out) and then actually brought the hotel shuttle around and drove me to run my errand! I have never had a hotel offer that before, and though we were gone less than 20 minutes, it made a huge impression on me! You could go to a holiday inn and sleep fine, but for just a little more money, Wyndam gives a much nicer experience and a LOT more value!!
Pros: Great Service, loved the bath-stuff!
Cons: Too far to walk to 6th street.

The Hotel San Jose is not cheap but it's worth it if you're on a luxury vacation or spending a night away from the house. The building is truly unique looking with a great courtyard layout and the location is fantastic, right on South Congress across the street of the legendary COntinental Club. Connected to the hotel is Joe's coffee stand that can fill you up in the morning with fresh coffee and breakfast. If you're going to stay here you might as well go all out and get a sweet. They include all the regular amenities in beautifully designed and decorated rooms.
