This is the best tool store in Austin. They have everything you need! The store is laid out well to help you find what you need and the staff is very helpful. I do wish that they made keys, though. This place feels like your neighborhood tool store and not like some random warehouse where you have to walk up and down the aisles forever to find what you need or find someone to help you. I am glad I just live down the road and am able to go there for all of my needs!

The thing I like about Fry's is they have everything. If you want to build a computer or anything electronic you can find it there. They have a large selection of software and books. They price match and generally have good prices anyway. The staff is pretty knowledgeable.

Sign Effects is a great shop not just for signs. I came to them with an unusual request for a wedding gift. The owner was so nice and helpful. She personally walked me through the different ways they could make my idea a reality and at a reasonable price. It took less than week to get my item and she even waited for me to get out of work to pick it up.

We bought an old home that needed reroofing and decided on a metal roof for various reasons. I checked around, and these guys had really good prices.
They do most of their business with contractors, but they sell to us do-it-yourselfers, too.
They walked me through how to take measurements to order the material, then after it arrived, they walked me through how to install it.
We couldn't have done it without them!
Especially Jim - he really took the time to explain things and was a pleasure to work with!

Great place and great customer service. They will be quick to help you with any fencing needs you have and offer suggestions as well. The new specialty they carry is kennels for you dog lovers. They have everything you need and a variety of colors for your kennel. This company has even traveled out of state to help customers. Call them, they are more than wiliing to help you.

I just love browsing in Altex for computer parts/upgrades etc. The staff is VERY knowledgeable about computers and they really know how to speed up your computer! All the parts are sold individually so if you just need a part or 2 this is where to go. They have tons of accessories like CD cases, blank CD's, cables and more. Even my wife likes going in there for the pretty purple plastic CD holders!

Kinko’s is one of the great open all night places I remember from college. It did not matter what time of the night is was, if I needed to copy or bind something I could do it at Kinko’s. They have recently merged with FedEx to increase their shipping capabilities, although I wish they were open later for accepting shipments to go out that day.
