I've been going to Stas at Studio Fryzura for five years. From the first visit, he gave me beautiful, natural-looking color and has maintained it perfectly from visit to visit. I get lots of compliments on how beautiful and healthy-looking my hair is, and it truly IS in superb condition. This I attribute to Stas' extensive experience as a colorist, subtle technique and the high-quality coloring products he uses. The salon happens to be very convenient for me as I live in the Heights, but I would recommend that anyone in Manhattan take the quick trip over to Brookyn (salon is right at the Clark Street stop on the 2/3) and put your head in Stas' hands. His prices are very affordable vis-a-vis Manhattan salons, and you will receive top-notch and friendly treatment from the whole staff. more

My hair is enough to make grown hairdressers cry - it never grew out of the ""babyfine"" stage, and holds a curl for no more than a New York minute. Jane, the stunningly elegant hair and beauty magician at Studio Fryzura, has made it her business to make me look good with the right length of hair (much shorter than before) and can even give me a head of curls that last all night. I send all the men in my life to Stas (Stanislav) for stylish, manly cuts. I also get my waxing and pedicures done there. The place is clean, friendly, efficient, and extremely good value. I've been going to Studio Fryzura since it was open over five years ago and I would not go anywhere else! I've been seeing Stas for cut and color since 1997(!!!) This is THE commitment; this is my most important commitment to my beauty routine! Without doubt, Stas is one of the most professional stylists in the City. Not only he possesses many years of experience, but in the past he benefited from a high level professional training in Europe and his sense of style is impeccable. Over years I have tried various styles and colors: from medium length, to very short, to long. My hair is not the easiest to make look great: it's thin and oily. Yet, because of Stas, I have not had a 'bad hair' day in years. I work in Finance, but even for a conservative industry Stas can offer something that makes you stand out, yet agreeable with your boss's taste. I often speak at industry events and was told by other attendees that they could not take eyes off my hair. Such a compliment would indeed make your day, or even your entire week! more

I've been in studio fryzura for Keratin Treatment and I had a really bad experience with Jane. She had some 'personal' problems that happened that day and she was talking to me endlessly about it. when you're in salon for an expensive treatment, it isn't appropriate for the stylist to be using you as her therapist and telling you about her personal life troubles. My hair looks bad after this keratin treatment and i would not recommend anybody to do this treatment with Jane. I'm not saying they don't have good stylists in studio fryzura, I just had to say my piece. more

I saw one lady walking down the streets and I had to stop her to compliment her hair! Style and color looked unbelievable! I got the number and made an appointment with Jane. As soon as you walk in to salon you feel more than at home. The stuff is very friendly and caring...within minutes you becoming a family member of the studio...I did keratin treatment, color, high lights and cut for an absolutely reasonable price!!! Jane created not only amazing hair look, but you can feel and see it comes from her heart ! Besides the above she's great personality and definitely knows what she's doing. I never tell her what I want cause she always knows what I need!!! Its very important to trust yr hair master and relax at the moment of creation! And I can proudly say Jane is THE ONE!!! Each time I walk out of the salon I remember that ""pretty woman walking down the streets"" ;) getting lots of compliments and attention from people just passing by and grabbing the number...!!! I've been coming to Studio Fryzura for 6 years and I'll never leave! When I first moved to NY I tried the overpriced snooty salons on Montague street and the second I found someone good to do my highlights and cut they left. Then I discovered Stas and now no one else touches my hair! \r \r The reason Stas is so good is that he always does a consultation at the start of each appointment - you'd think that after 6 years he'd just assume what I want etc but he takes that time to see what's going on in my life and to make sure that we're doing the right treatment for whatever my current insanity is... he doublechecks my lifestyle to make sure that my expectations of my hair are reasonable. I'm on the adventurous side with my hair and he doesn't let me go off the deep end with a snap decision about cut or color. Every visit I'm surprised by how much better I look when I leave - I walk out the door smiling like I can take on the world. I trust Stas to do anything to my hair because he'll never make me look bad or damage my hair. more

I can't believe I finally found Ricky Reich at Studio Fryzura. She's does amazing color and incredible cuts. She does it all. I have been looking to find a great colorist without having to pay the exorbitant prices of John Frieda, Sally Hershberger or the other top salons and here she is at Studio Fryzura. As a bonus, she does great cuts and styling if you need that too. She's European trained and French speaking and such a sweet lady, you know she will take good care of you the minute you meet her. She's also a painter so she really know which colors will suit you best. Make sure to ask for Ricky because she's the best!!!! more

I've tried many colorists but Sammy is the guru of all time. He manages to turn my white hair into a rich and natural red color which isn't easy . Elena the manicurist does a beautiful job on my nails, better than anyone else has ever. I love the wonderful massage that Ludmila gives when she shampoos your hair. It's a real performance.. Not only do they provide excellent services; they are also warm and caring. Lastly, the prices are very reasonable. The whole experience is great and I always feel so good when I walk out of the salon. I highly recommend Studios Fryzura. more

I normally never write reviews, but my experience was so awful I had to let everyone know. Judging from the last review, Rafael leaving the salon is very upsetting. I had an appointment with him last week for a keratin treatment, and when I got there they told me he no longer worked there. I should have canceled and left when I had the chance. I see from reviews below that other people were as put off as I was that they didn't let us know in advance that Rafael was no longer at the salon. But since I made the trip there, and needed to get my hair done in a hurry for an event, I decided (against my better judgment) to let Jane do it. First, let me start by saying that I had gone to Rafael a few times and loved the treatment. He also always did a great trim with the treatment. He was also sweet to offer to run out to pick up coffee for me next door, since the salon doesn't offer it. And he was just so personable and professional, it was such a joy to talk with him when I was getting my treatments done. And unfortunately this time with Jane was the complete opposite experience. She was chewing gum and I think that's not very attractive or professional. But I think she was chewing gum to mask the awful cigarette breath she had -- which wasn't really working. The stench of the mix of cigarettes and gum made me want to throw up. She also didn't make a great attempt at conversation. As for the actual keratin treatment, I don't think she has much experience doing it. It didn't come out as good as Rafaels at all, and I'm wondering whether it will last as long. She also kind of ruined my haircut when she trimmed it. I've been to the salon many times, and I was told that Rafael was the only one doing it at the time. So I guess she was doing it for his clients after he left, or they fired him. Unfortunately, they shouldn't practice on clients what they don't know how to do without letting us know that's what their doing (and offer a deep discount for using us for practice as customary at all good salons). At least that's that's my opinion. I would have considered continuing going there for color with Mario (who is awesome), but the salon allowing her to attempt providing a service she's not experienced at lost the them a client. Sorry Mario if you are reading this. I can't go back there. . Thanks lisajameson3 for letting us know where Rafael will be. He is the best. I passed by 136 Montague today, and the windows are still covered up. I hope the salon opens soon. I know better to be patient this time. Even though I won't look my best, I'll gladly wait until Rafael opens his salon. I always know what I'm getting with him -- beautiful hair every time, and professional and personalized service. The nerve of these people. I had an appointment with Rafael, and they didn't call me to let me know that he was no longer working there. They told me when I showed up. Some Russian woman, who has always been cold towards me in the past, was all smiles and trying to get me to do my color with her or another stylist. I didn't appreciate that AT ALL. They didn't want to give me any information about why he left their salon. I mean really! How unprofessional can you be! I will not give them another dime of my business. I have been going to Jane at Studio Fryzura in Brooklyn for years. I originally would just go for a blow out, but over a year ago, I asked her to do my color and highlights after being with the same colorist for ten years. I have been getting my hair colored by Jane ever since. I received tons of compliments and my hair is so much healthier now. Recently she used vegetable based highlights with no bleach and the color is amazing! the prices are reasonable and the service is great! I highly recommend this salon. Pros: Great Hair Care more

I live iin Brooklyn Heights and I am very thankful that Studio Fryzura is in my neighborhood. Within minutes I can get a terrific haircut from any of the stylists and also be treated to the best pedicure / manicure and waxings done by Elena. Don't hesitate -- call and make an appointment. I changed my rating from five stars to one star because of what happened today at Studio Fryzura Wed June 9. The five stars was for Rafael, not the salon. And the people I dealt with there today really turned me off. They are pushy, trying to get you to have your hair done with someone you don't want. So I won't be going back. Cons: Pushy more

I went in with a really cute $120 hair cut from bumble and bumble to get a trim and update the style, and walked out with a mess...the stylist wasn't even able to style my own hair...she put some heavy product and sent me away...the worse hair cut i ever got in my life...if you need more than a 1/2"" trim avoid this place at all cost! i am growing out my hair...every day it looks worse!!! more

I had the Brazilian Keratin Treatment done by Rafael today on I my super tight, curly hair. He was very gentle with my hair and made sure not to hurt me. The process went smoothly and my hair looks and feels AMAZING. I had to ask him ""Are you sure this is my hair?"" just to make sure. I forgot who I was for a second. He also trimmed it to make it even and I will be going back in the future. I realized after I left that I forgot to give a tip because I was so excited about my hair, but I won't forget next time because he deserves it! ;) Pros: Perfect more

I had the Keratin Straightening done with Rafeal at Studios Fryzura in April. Rafeal was extremely knowledgeable about what procedures would work best for me. In the end, my hair was beautiful, straight and shiny. Its been over 2 months since the procedure and my hair still looks great. It is super easy to blow-dry and care for. I will return to Studios Fryzura and Rafeal in another month or so to have it done again--it is so worth it! Pros: Beautiful Hair more

I had keratin straightening done by Rafael Nieves at Studio Fryzura, and my hair looks and feels amazing! It was easy to make an appointment and the salon was really easy to get to even from Manhattan. Rafael was quick, professional, and knowledgable. He was great to chat with while the relaxer set. Its been about a month an my hair is still almost pin straight and only takes 20 min max to dry! This is amazing considering my hair is naturally SUPER curly and would take 1.5 hours to dry/straighten before the keratin. Pros: Rafael Nieves, professional, great results more
