Amazing and good price. Be prepared to wait for this hole in the wall.

I agree with another reviewer that I cannot understand the EXTREME HYPE over this restaurant. There are always tons of people outside (probably besides the restaurant has so few ...

The most wonderful Sushi place in Seattle 2/1/2007

I LOVE IT: I have been to this place for YEARS and I never get tired of it. They have the best and freshest Saba (mackerel) and overall the best sushi in Seattle from what I experienced. Especially how FRESH it is ! And Also very good priced. The staff is wonderful, friendly, and very lovable. It just gives you a really Japanese family restaurant style of feeling. I hope this place will never change and always be there. A one of a kind place that you dont find much anymore. more

mushashi's has some really good sushi and its cheap..3 people can eat all the sushi they can hold for about $25-$35...and these are real big sushi eaters. great prices..but BEWARE its a very very small restaurant and so there is always a wait and most likely a line-up around the block. the unagi sushi roll (eel roll) is to die for!! mmm! more

The cheapest delicious sushi you can find 8/19/2005

Musashi’s basically got me through grad school. I love sushi, but it can be really expensive. What to do? Well, luckily, we in Seattle all have Musashi’s. The menu isn’t enormously elaborate but it’s got all the basics. It’s not the absolute best or most creative sushi I have ever had, but you can easily get two people their sushi fix for dinner for $20 (including the tip!). The sushi here is very good however, don’t get me wrong. The cheapest way to go and still be happy is to get a few pieces of sashimi and then mostly order rolls. The spicy tuna is great. My favorite is unagi and avocado (not on the menu, but you can concoct your own rolls). I also really love Musashi’s California roll. It is so good! I’ve never had a better California roll! Don’t bring non-sushi eaters here as the menu doesn’t have that much else on it. Also, you can only pay by check or cash – no credit cards. Finally, the restaurant is very small, maybe seats 20 or so? But, you can order ahead for pick up. This is usually a good plan as the wait can be 30 minutes long and you definitely aren’t going there for the décor or ambiance. more

Good sushi, great prices 8/17/2005

Ask a Wallingford or Fremont resident about sushi, and you're sure to hear about Musashi's. It's not the best sushi in Seattle by a long shot, but it's fresh, plentiful and remarkably cheap (a nigiri plate, enough for dinner, is $10, and pieces are $2-$3). The selection is somewhat limited, but the standards -- salmon, tuna, yellowtail, shrimp and California roll -- are all there. We're also fond of the special bento dinner ($10), a remarkable assemblage of steak, chicken, several kinds of raw and cooked fish, grilled vegetables and rice. Prefaced with a bowl of miso soup and hot tea from the thermos on the table, it's a tasty and filling dinner at a great price. Musashi's does a lot of take-out business; dining in is casual, at small tables in a room papered with posters for upcoming events in the city. Service is good but the tiny kitchen can get backlogged, leading to long waits at times. more

Best sushi for the price! 8/17/2005

Prepare to wait to experience this little slice of Japanese cuisine. Musashi's is a well known, very much appreciated "hole in the wall". I'd recommend it to anyone who wants good sushi at great prices. There is no fanfare here. It is a small restaurant with maybe 10 or 12 tables. Each table only seats 2 or 3 people at the very most. However, you may have to wait a while but you'll save $$$ compared to dining at other Japanese restaurants around town. When you go be sure to order the chirashi. It's not on the menu and the best price in town. more

Small shop, big sushi 4/22/2005

This is actually what I would consider the best bet for Japanese food of the several I've been to in Wallingford. The sushi has been pretty consistently good, the portions are big (especially considering the price), and there's complimentary houji-cha tea for you to drink with your meal. There's often a line with the popularity of the place and it's very limited seating, but for me it has somehow been a relaxing place to eat despite the small space and busy service. more

Consistent, Inexpensive, Voluminous Sushi 3/8/2005

It may not be the best sushi in Seattle, but it may be the biggest. The owner has huge hands. Don't be surprised if you have to fight through a waiting line out the door - people come here to EAT. I've seen one person order and consume a dozen unagi. The california rolls are gigundus. The onigiri are a complete meal. This is wonderful neighborhood food - not some fru-fru eatery. more

Sushi this size makes me nervous 9/29/2004

My husband will disagree but he's no sushi snob- he likes the fact that it is cheap. Indeed there is always a line and the service is great but the fish pieces are just too big to be right or healthy. It makes me nervous every time we eat there that I'm going to have sushi belly later. Hasn't happened yet but I'd rather head to the ID for some cheap, delicate sushi pieces. more
