I would have loved to find a bar like Bar Ocho back when I was a frequent patron of bars/clubs. I stopped in there during an infrequent guys night out and we all had a great time. The bar has a nice neighborhood feel while also being upscale and hip. The drinks were flowing, the service was excellent and their happy hour prices on their appetizers were totally reasonable.
Unlike a lot of Belltown bar/eateries where you get a lot of attitude from the bartenders, Bar Ocho had nice friendly service. Our bartender was great (didn't get his name) but he was cool, made good drinks, and didn't have any sort of attitude at all.
All in all, it was a great night out and Bar Ocho definitely added to a good memory.
Now if only I can get out more often....

Just be sure to get there early as the place fills up. It is quite the happening spot on Thursday and Friday afternoons.

I like eating at Pho Vietnam because I feel like I'm eating lunch in a friends living room. It's just a nice homey feeling, nothing fancy, just good food in a nice environment. As with all pho places, the price is very reasonable and very filling. Unlike other pho places though you get a free dessert - a cream puff that is so good. (served before your meal gets there) If you want more creampuffs they sell them in take out packs.
The husband and wife team are there all the time and I think their children may work there from time to time as well. They always have a nice smile and a nice bowl of noodles to offer me.

For the location, the view, and of course, the great seafood Chinooks is an awesome value. Set amongst the boats moored at Fishermans Terminal its a great place to unwind after work. Here's a little trick, its a popular spot and sometimes you have to wait a while for a table however, i've always had good luck getting a table in the bar. The bar isn't all that smoky and you get full table service there. It's great when you're really hungry and can't wait for a table. They also serve up some really good bread that is great to dip in their chowder.

I enjoy shopping at McClendon's. It makes me feel like I did 20 years ago when I was a little kid. It definitely has an old school vibe to it that you don't get when shopping at the Big Box Stores like you know who. The employees at McClendon's all seem to know what they're talking about, they help you find what you need, and they seem to enjoy being there. McClendon's is a pretty big store but the amount of stuff they sell there makes it seem much bigger. You can pretty much find anything there that you need. Another thing is the price. I've found their prices the exact same as Home Depot and sometimes I've found them cheaper. I bought pressure treated fence board at McClendon's for about 30 cents cheaper per piece than Lowes or Home Depot. Pretty big difference!

To me, most hamburgers taste the same. Wherever you go there seem to be just minimal differences and one never really stands out from another- except in two cases. For those lucky enough to try an In-N-Out Burger [located in California and Nevada (and Oregon?)] that reigns supreme for me. There's something about spending $2.50 and getting an incredible "animal style" hamburger that just blows my mind. The second best burger would have to be Red Mill Burger. And since there are no In-N-Out's here...Red Mill takes the cake here in Seattle.
They offer real meaty burgers with thick slices of bacon, crunchy lettuce and the perfect amount of mayo and ketchup. You honestly cannot get a better burger in Seattle. Each burger is cooked to order - there's no prewrapped burger waiting to be handed to you.
All the Red Mills are located in neighborhood areas so its probably just locales dining there most of the time.
And another great thing about Red Mill...they have a no cell phone rule. So turn off your D@MN phone!

When you think of what Seattleites drink its probably coffee. Starbucks,Starbucks, and more Starbucks. Starbucks is not just coffee, its an attitude as well. "Look at me! I'm at Starbucks drinking my double tall, non fat, half and half almond espresso latte smoothie. By the way, I just paid $4.50 for a cup of coffee." or something like that. Well Pochi is sort of the exact opposite. Pochi is fun. Pochi is definitely NOT pretentious. And most of Pochi's drinks are cold. And, oddly enough, their drinks sometimes come with little balls at the bottom of it. This is called Bubble Tea. Strange, I know.
For those who are new to bubble tea, it originated in Asia and it started out as tea w/ milk with little tapioca balls at the bottom. However, here in the states it has sort of transformed into many variations. You can get the traditional bubble tea concoction. Or you can get like a frozen smoothie type of drink which is great for hot days. They also offer hot drinks but most don't get tapioca balls in that because they will melt. As for your "add-ins" for the bottom of the drink there is a huge variety of items now if you don't want tapioca balls. A few that I can think of are lychee jelly, pudding, and rainbow jelly.
The environment at Pochi is definitely a young crowd. Loud Asian popmusic plays in the background. Groups of teenagers sit around talking, flirting, or playing games. It's definitely a fun, hip, environment.
If you've never tried Pochi before I recommend you do. It's unlike anything you've ever had here. Oh and don't even bother using the word grande or venti here. There's only 1 size cup - and its big so drink up!

It is no secret that Seattle has many Thai restaurants. And I would have to say that there are many that are very good. I would have to say that Thai Siam would have to be at the top of the list. I spent a few months in Thailand a few years back and fell in love with the country. Thailand is known for many things - a few being the kindness of the people and the richness and complexity of their cuisine. Thai Siam captures both aspects in full. You walk into the restaurant and the staff are very kind, greet you sincerely, and offer you a table. Most (if not all) are from Thailand and even greet you w/ the national greeting of "saw wa dee kup". Once the meal starts get ready for an amazing workout for your taste buds. Be sure to order the Tom Kah Gai soup. It's a chicken broth and coconut milk soup that is slightly sweet, hot, and sour at the same time. Their rendition is my favorite of any Thai restaurant in Seattle.
Also I know that they do charity work as well and have an annual dinner where all the earnings go to a local charity. I'm not sure which charity but the donation they give is in the tens of thousands.
Definitely check out Thai Siam!
