The Clallam Bay Grocery doesn't really carry a wide selection of foods – just the basics – but it's at least better than the mini-marts that you find elsewhere in town. They also have a few postcards of Olympic Peninsula sights, but not much else. The prices aren't bad, though, if you can find what you're looking for.

Al's is just a mini mart, so you can't really realistically expect to find much beyond the basics that you always find an convenience stores everywhere, but as a shop in the Sekiu / Clallam Bay area, they do at least carry a nice little selection of motion sickness tablets and things like that for the summer boaters who come in.

Although it was quite a while ago that I came in here last to buy a bicycle, I remember that it was a pretty good place. They had a good selection of accessories as well, and the prices were at least average, if not better, for Spokane-area bike shops. It's worth stopping in at if you're in the area.

Tana Market is without a doubt my favorite convenience store in America! Besides the usual selection of junk food, they also have an aisle devoted to Ethiopian spices (afrij, a deep orange powder made from hand-picked peppers, is also my favorite spice ever) as well as tea and other things from Ethiopia. They even have a couple Ethiopian (excellent) beers at very competitive prices. This might be the only convenience store I know of anywhere that's worth making a special trip out of your way to.

I just happened to spot the sign for this place as I was going by and I had to stop in to check it out. It's a tiny little place, really just a deli counter with some interesting foods. It's the only place I've ever seen jars of black mountain ash jelly (which I bought), and they also had interesting juices from Armenia, jars of walnut paste, and 5-lb bags of green (unroasted) Ethiopian coffee beans for just $13. If you like interesting foods like me you should definitely check this place out if you're in the area!

The Stumbling Monk is one of my favorite bars anywhere - they specialize in Belgian beers, so they always have a selection of great beers you can try on tap. Always some Belgian ones, and sometimes maybe a Dutch one too. You could pass it by without noticing it from outside, but it's worth keeping a look out for it if you're in the area.

I've been to "Art House Desin" (the way they wrote it on the posters) several times for the K Records-related shows that they put on sometimes in the evenings, and it was perfect for that, one of the most enjoyable places I've ever been for those kinds of shows. Although I've actually never been to the shop during their regular business hours I got a good impression of them.

Gallery 1412, in the space that used to be the Polestar Music Gallery is a great place to see live experimental music, mostly improvisational. It's a small place, and the focus is entirely on the music, as they don't serve food or drinks. It's nice to have somewhere to go where you can focus on listening to the music without distractions.

This isn't a fancy place to eat, as they serve the food on paper plates with plastic silverware, but it's a great place to stop in for a light meal or snack, especially for something warm on a cold or rainy day. The best deal is their borscht (which is very good, with a scoop of sour cream) with a piroshky, which are very reasonably priced if you get them together.
