We go out to dinner just about every weekend and we try to go to a different place each time. Jak's Grill might be the best steak we have ever had in Seattle. My husband ordered the 40oz porterhouse and I had the petite filet. Both were excellent and cooked to perfection. The appetizers and sides were also AMAZING. The only "con" would be that the bread that they give you is not that great, but who cares...everything else was A+. I had a couple of lemon drop martinis and they were incredible and very reasonably priced! Everything was so delicious we had to order dessert and the desserts did not disappoint. I found the staff to be very friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxed, not pretentious at all. We will definitely return very soon.
Pros: food, drinks, prices
Cons: the bread

Dear Serafina:
We want to complement your management staff: Maxine, Jody and Solomon, as well as your chef Dillon, whose attention to detail and professional committment resulted in a fanstastic event. Our friends and family continue to comment about the quality of the food and the ambience of the restaurant. The staff was attentive and were definitely part of the celebration.
We felt as if we were entertaining at our home in Italy. Each dish was very typical of some particular region of Italy. The dessert display on the patio was absolutely lovely, as we sipped our port and dipped our biscotti. It was a wonderful way to start the multiple special events of our beautiful wedding weekend.
We chose Serafina after three trips from Sacramento in our search for the perfect venue for the rehearsal dinner. We dined at six other restaurants and decided that the cuisine and ambience at Serafina met our desire to create "una bella Italiano festa" for our family and guests.
Ci vediamo in Seattle.
Michele and Patrizia Klein
Pros: Food, Service,Attention to detail,Excellent wine list
Cons: We wish you were in Sacramento

FABULOUS view of Seattle across the Sound. I have ALWAYS gotten GREAT service and GREAT food, even when I brought 20 people and arranged for separate checks(not easy on the servers). Everyone in my large party of "out of towners" agreed that the food was excellent and service was GREAT. I have always gotten GREAT food, cooked exactly to order for Lunch and Dinner. Brunch is a buffet so a few things are cooler than I like, but still good. I recommend Salty's at Alki to EVERYONE that is looking for a GREAT seafood meal.
Pros: GREAT seafood for a Market price
Cons: Should make Reservations

Okay, I guess it was my lucky day when I went because: A. I didn't see one g**dam* crockroach. However I am vegan, and a crockroach wouldn't keep me from some fine vegan Thai food, since good, really good vegan food in restaurants if hard to come by.
B. I did not get the True Religion Jeans Server or the Pony Tail Stink-Eye Server. How many servers can this small place have. I only saw one, and she was awesome, smiled alot, helped me when I spilled ice water all over myself after someone buttknocked my table.
C. I only waited about 8 minutes. In retrospect, I would've easily waited 16 minutes. The heavy wooden WOODEN! menus were pretty awesome.
So, the food came in about 3.3456 minutes, since they took my order before I even was seated. I had Tofu in Green Curry. F*cking delicious. really delicious. Huge portion. I ate every last bit and if I wasn't with my friend I would've ordered another and sat there contentedly for half hour nibbling on it. Still no ro*ches ('case you didn't know, citysearch doesn't let you say r*aches. Though there was some questionable food substance in a white industrial bucket three inches from my knees. In fact, I want to go again right now.
Pros: Inexpensive, delicious, upbeat, crazy music!

We celebrated my daughters 21st birthday and I think we will all remember this fun night. The waiter was excellent! He was an good listener, friendly without being annoying, and he had excellent timing, bringing us food just when we wanted it. And the food!!!! WOW. It was delicious, especially my steak. We all loved the Caesar salad, fresh and crisp leaves. We shared dessert and it melted in our mouth. The trapese performance was fun, and short enough so it didn't interrupt dining. I would highly recommend this place!
Pros: unusual and fun, memorable
Cons: expensive, small portions

Ototo in Queen Anne is an absolutely OUTSTANDING sushi spot. I've had sushi all over the US since the 80s, and honestly, despite getting things I had never even tried before (along with a rainbow roll and the must-have melt me sockeye sushi)... well, I was impressed impressed impressed and more importantly happy. It has Umi and the trendy hotspot sushi spots beat by a landslide and is even, if sushi is truly your craving, a bit better than Nishino in my opinion... only a bit, mind you, since Nishino... well, it IS kinda the best Japanese food in the whole country :) That said, Ototo costs about half that of Nishino but also lacks some of the wildly creative specialties or the "chef will surprise you gleefully" option.
So in my most recent visit, I started with tempura... but I wasn't feeling like eating random amounts of onions and broccoli, etc... I saw "yam tempura" as part of a roll then asked what was in the veggie temp sampler... yam, of course, but also pumpkin, which was also amazing. They were entirely relaxed about customizing it (no extra charge), and it was positively wonderful.
Next came the most surprising and pleasantly "holy frickin wow" part of our meal, black cod that was marinated in sweet sake and grilled perrrfectly then topped with green soy bean sauce and served with grilled asparagus and zucchini on a bed of yummy greens. While the portion wasn't enormous, the flavor and heartiness were well worth the not-so-high cost...
After warming up with those, we went to our sushi and rolls. I didn't care for geoduck, but the rest... mmm! Absolutely the best wild sockeye, and for $4, we got a really good pickled mackerel roll with pickled ginger and things I forget :) Add a rainbow roll, plum and natto rolls, & fondue: only $50!
My only "complaints?" The plum paste roll needs more balance to accent the plum, and sniffle, they weren't serving the seasonal fresh rolls at 9pm on a Sunday. With salmon, tuna, avocado, and *mango,* I'll be back!
Pros: best sushi ever, great ambience (not loud like many Seattle sushi spots!), service was perfect and helped us a LOT
Cons: like many, they stop serving things like fresh spring rolls late, and geoduck and ume shiso kyu weren't anything wowing

Hands down best Indian food in Seattle is Cedars on Brooklyn Restaurant. It is crowded ('cause we love it), but the servers don't smash into you either. Long wait times are made easier by understanding that there is no reservation service at all. If you phone in you are just telling them what time you will start to wait, NOT reserving a table. My Darling Spidey and I made great conversation with others on numerous occasions while waiting in line outside, sometimes in the rain. I am not a big fan of waiting for service but understand it is easier to sit a couple or threesome faster than parties of 6 or more. We like the saag alu and the naan you can make a meal of by itself. As for the tip we leave $3.00 total, whether it's just us or a party or 12. The Owner keeps the tips because he pays the servers much more than minimum wage. It's a great place to go when there are carnivores and vegetarians both in your group. They don't cross contaminate with utensils on meat/veggies so you can rest assured you will have a true vegetarian meal.
Pros: Excellent Food great for carnivores and vegetarians as well!
Cons: limited parking, not for big parties
