I have been coming to Henrys End for many years and it is my all time favorite place to take business associates who are unaware of the hidden gems outside of Manhattan. The food ...

Best New Cousine in the Heights 8/12/2005

I loved this restaurant! Small- - hole in the wall type place. Most people don't even know it's there, even though they walk by it every day. Seems like they take their time and really care about the quality of the food. I hesitate to recommend it because then it will be crowded. It's hard for me to describe the food genre, except to say you won't be disappointed. It's a little more expensive, so maybe not practical for everyday, but perfect for a special occasion. Ingenious pairings, everything is delicious! more

Go for the duck! 10/19/2004

Casual wild game place in Brooklyn Heights. This unpretentious place don't have much in terms of atmosphere, but the wait staff are very friendly, and the menu is pretty special. The regular menu has some outstanding duck dishes (my favorite)... As great as duck is, it is very rare that you see a non-Asian restaurant really know what to do with this succulent bird. I mean, the French use it well in cassoulet & as a detail in other dishes. On good day, other restaurants may make some good but overly refined version of this bird, but usually in tiny portions. Henry's End gives you a nice large piece of duck, and fearlessly goes for it. It's not just big, it's yummy! Otherwise, this place specializes in wild game, so you'll always find something unexpected an interesting on the specials. Worth the trip. Take a walk on the Promenade afterward, if you're looking for an after dinner constitutional. more
