David James Salon & Day Spa

Stay far away! My wife went in to have her wig recolored at 11am. They told her they would call her in an hour. My wife said she would be hanging around waiting for their call (she had both kids with her). Two and a half hours later my wife reminded them that she is waiting, they said again that they will call her when it is ready and that they close at 7PM. At 6:40 she got nervous because she didn't hear from them, so she went to the store and they again said it is not ready and that they close at 8. Finally at 8:30, after waiting in the parking lot for 45 minutes with two screaming kids in the car, it was ready. The kicker? They quoted one price over the phone and jacked it up $20 and the color turned out to be way too dark. If you prefer to be treated like a human being, find another place to go. Apparently customer service is unheard of here. more

Went to the Spa yesterday and I was disappointed with the salon. Thank goodness I got my coupon through Groupons and didn't pay the full price. The massuse and woman who did the facial were very nice people. I got there and was NOT even shown an area where I could undress, I undress in the bathroom. I really expecteed more example: sauna, hot tub and a steam room, not just some simple shower with steam, I will not recommend that spa ever, more

Went in for a facial and blowout recently. I had been there once before for color with Karen (nothing great) and for a massage and facial with the russian aesthetician (i am sorry i forgot her name!) Well, the russian woman was really great, but the woman I had the other day for my facial was not good at all. I think her name was Satiya or somthing like that...?? She rushed through the entire thing and was rather rough, slapping things on my face without much care. I found out later on I was her last appointment before her vacation to Brazil - and it showed. I then had a blowout by a much older gentleman who was very nice but EXTREMELY slow and weak and seemed to be past his prime for doing hair. As a result, my hair did not come out well at all- especially for $36! This is a neighborhood place and since there are not many choices in the area i think people are forced to go here. I will not be going back - definitely not worth it for the money you pay. Take the time and go to better salons in Bay Ridge instead. more

I went to David James after finding it on citysearch, and since then it is where I get my hair and facials done. I had an awesome hair stylist who has since moved away but I plan on going back and trying out a new stylist. The woman who does the facials is also amazing. Amazing experience. I was given a gift certificate to this day spa and bought one for a friend at the end of my day. The service was amazing. I had the signature facial and my skin never felt better. The ambiance was beautiful and the staff made you feel like you were special. The massage was theraputic and helped me with my lower back pain. From the time they greeted me at the door to the moment I left I felt like a queen I absolutley will return to this little slice of heaven. The prices seem moderate and well worth the service . A must visit. By the way they have a full hair salon and as a compliment they did an airbrush makeup on me so I was ready for the evening. I never new you can do makeup with an airbrush.
