Literal Hell 6/7/2011

Horrifying! I trawled the Heights of a Monday night and finally in my exhaustion violated my own rule and pulled into Cadman Plaza Garage. It was a Dante-esque experience without a Virgil. Terrible dust everywhere, loud whirring, no idea how to navigate and no help whatever. Finally, a poor, sad worker emerged, motioning me to stop but giving me no other directions. A few other patrons then materialized, all of us looking downward in dejection and defeat. The next morning, I was charged $45.00 for the experience! But I was grateful to be allowed to leave. more

Awful Staff 5/1/2009

Do not park here. The people that work there, from the manager to the guy that parks your car, are all mean evil people. I'm not just talking about just rude--they go out of their way to yell at you. They are angry and take it out on the customers. Avoid this garage! Pros: N/A Cons: The staff more

Worst parking experience of my life 7/5/2008

Ok. Anyone going to see July 4th fireworks has to anticipate a delay getting out of the garage and out of the city. But the garage operator also has to anticipate increased volume and have a PLAN! Took us and hordes of others over 2 hours to get out of this garage last night. Stifling heat, unhealthy air, (I had to use an inhaler), untold gallons of wasted, precious gasoline, and repeated visits from NYPD and NYFD did nothing to move the garage manager to try and correct the problem. He wouldn't open a second exit, provide arrangements for advance payment, open an expedited line for those paying cash (their credit card machine was malfunctioning), or set up a system to have attendants go down the line of cars collecting cash so those cars could exit more quickly. The place was a zoo -- while customers were more than agitated (horns honking, brakes screeching, yelling), they were by and large well behaved. But the manager was clueless, complaining that someone broke a gate on the exit he refused to open. How it didn't degenerate into something more dangerous or violent is a small miracle. This place needs to be fined or otherwise investigated/sanctioned. Not NYC at it's best, to say the least. more
