For about 4 years I have been going to Mid-carolina. I had no problems. But when I got pregnant, it seemed that that care I got being diabetic was horrible. Their office is listed as high risk. Once I confirmed that I was pregnant, about 2 weeks later I saw the mid-carolina who handles pregnancy counseling. I asked the nurse if I could be ectopic or having a miscarriage because I was having sudden severe cramping. The nurse (name began with a B.) told me my cramping was normal and not to worry about it. I should have known this women was not trained when she asked me what A1C meant. The next day I woke up to find that I had bled and probably miscarried. I called their office to see if I could come in, and they asked if I could come in later because they were busy. I came in anyway and waited for 30 minutes. I saw Dr. Woodruff who was not my normal doctor. I had an ultrasound and was told I miscarried. The information was just matter of fact, no counseling or even suggestion of what to do next. There was no information regarding what to do, what would happen with the tissue that was possibly remaining and no followup. I bled for 5 weeks and passed the sac about 2 weeks after I was told I miscarried. I called their office a total of 11 times (I have phone records of the calls) to ask if it was normal and if I should come in. The nurses told me that bleeding for 5 weeks was "normal" and different for each woman. I reminded her I was diabetic and at risk for infection and this could cause fertility problems later. I was told I would get a call back, and was never called back. At a later call, When I suggested that tissue may still be left the nurse asked me if I was a doctor, and how I would know this. The internet is a great way to get information! At that point my husband I just walked in that morning and said we would wait to see a dr. They ran the hcg test to see if any tissue was remaining. Of course when I saw my doctor (Dr. Stephens - great doctor, bedside manner), she asked why I was not seen before and why I did not come in earlier for the followup pregnancy test. Of course, there was tissue remaining and it was solved for a simple shot. 4 days later my bleeding stopped. The miscarriage was no fault of their office, but there was no followup care. Their office can handle non serious matters but if you are high risk I reccommend the Atrium.
We complained to Dr. Stephens about the nurses and the information they gave us and she said she would talk to the administration. I don't know if anything has changed but once I found out I was pregnant again, I did not want to take a risk.

I switched to this pratice on the advice of my physician after numerous bad experiences with Obgyn doctors (Blue Ridge obgyn and midcarolina obgyn - seriously I should have sued both). Read my reviews for them.
Atrium nurses, staff, and doctors have all been exceptionally patient, informative, and sensitive. Being diabetic should involve serious care which is what this office gave me. They sent me to Duke Perinatal twice so far for second opinions and advice on the insulin and dosage. The nurses have been great also, listening to my worries and taking my concerns seriously. This will be my first child if everything goes well. Mostly I have seen Dr. Alvarez, who has been excellent, great manners, and pleasant personality.
The downside is that there are long waits, but on most of these times they took in emergency cases as walk in (miscarriages). Knowing that they give immediate care and consultation to those women gives me affirmation that they are doing everything in their power to care for women.

I am currently seeing Dr. Becker. He is an exceptional doctor. His nurse Deborah is also wonderful. Both take the time to listen, give me full information and details. I pregnant, diabetic, and have hypothyroidism, so it is very important I get the care I need. I feel I have gotten that and more.
The downside to the REA office is that there is a long wait and they have consistent billing errors. I have on numerous occasions, been billed for the same visit but as if I saw 2 different doctors. In each case, they corrected it through their records but not corrected it through the insurance company.
Unfortunately their office seems to have high turnover and an impatient staff/administration. But again, most of the doctors here are great

My husband, his brother and I went tonight for dinner and it was by far an exceptional restaurant all around. We ordered the bang bang shrimp, calamari, Bonefish Salad, Caesars salad, Lily's chicken, Chilean Sea Bass, and Tilapia. Everything tasted great and flavorful. It is not a cheap place, but is highly recommended for a special occasion or just a great meal. The service was excellent and timely. Personally, the Chilean Sea Bass and the house salad was the best and I will order those items every time I go. As for sauces that go with the fish, the Pan Asian and tomato-lime-garlic were my favorite. The lemon butter and mango salsa were overwhelming. We were too full for dessert, but plan on making a separate trip for that. Again, everything was perfect: the atmosphere, food, and service.

You will get a great haircut if you ask for "Gulay" to cut your hair. I used to be reluctant about getting a haircut before but after I found Gulay, I have no problems. If you want to save extra money you can skip the wash and blowdry, but it is worth the extra pamper. The prices are fair, you won't find overpriced services here.

Tonight me and my husband decided to try something new. We went to Rey's in Raleigh off of Buck Jones Rd. It is the same location where Ruth Chris steakhouse used to be. I came across the restaurant from citysearch which rated 9.7 I think. We made a reservation for 7:30 and got there early and they took us in right away. Great booth seat. We were constantly waited on, great service, very polite staff. The atmosphere was very upscale and beautiful for a night of dressing up and dining out. However the food was a disappointment. We ordered the Shrimp New Orleans (special not on the menu item). It was okay, nothing spectacular. New Orleans shrimp should have a thicker sauce. I ordered the French Quarter chicken (chicken stuffed with herb cheese topped with crawfish) and my husband ordered the pan seared black grouper topped with crawfish. My husband was so disappointed we traded dishes. The chicken I ordered was okay, the sauce did not stand out although the chicken was cooked perfectly and was tender. The fish did not look pan seared but rather poached or steamed. Total price was $52 something plus tip. I don't mind paying a little more, but I expect better food. I will probably give this restaurant another shot with different menu items. The food item I liked most was the complimentary pumpernickel bread with walnuts and golden raisins. This place was packed, so people obviously like this restaurant. But if you expect more, this place will probably not make your favorite list.

If you love Bath and Body Works like I do, then I highly recommend getting on their mailing list. They will email you details of special sales, coupons, and special savings. Usually you get a coupon that gives you a new product if you spend $15 or more, or some variation like this. The best deal I got was spending $35 or more and I got this colorful summer beach bag. It was gorgeous and at the time they had a deal on antibacterial hand soaps for 4 for $10, so of course I stocked up. For more information, go to http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/home/index.jsp

My favorite item is the gyro sandwich. The meat is tender and hot and the way it should be served. Some of the other items like the kabobs, stuffed grape leaves, are good but not mind blowing spectacular. However, I have not found a place in the triangle who can make stuffed grape leaves fresh, not bitter, and the way they should be. I do like their tea with the slices of oranges, cantaloupe, etc which gives a nice crisp fruity flavor. The people and service are great. I find that the owner and staff is very friendly in advising what items you might like. I also like the fact that they do substititions and have vegetarian items. You can find coupons for this place typically for $1 off or free piece of baklava. It is a good place to grab a quick bite. They have 2 other locations, one in Cary at CrossRoads blvd and one in Brier Creek.

Every once in a while one my favorite comedians come to Raleigh and perform at Charlie Goodnights. The service is great with the exception of when they are sold out, service tends to be slow but still polite. Blake Clark, Aries Spears, and Chris Titus are just some of the comedians making their way to Raleigh this summer. I have eaten here only twice and the meals were served pretty quickly and were good.

If you love sushi and typically spend more than $15 then this is your place. Around $15 for lunch and $25 for dinner you can get all you can eat sushi, udon noodles, stir fry, and anything asian you can think of. The good thing of this Todai is that it was located in Woodfield Mall. Come prepared to wait in line, everyplace we have been to the Todai had at least an hour wait. My husband and I have eaten Todai in Chicago, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and California. Hawaii is hands down the best. Although in Hawaii, everywhere was great sushi.
