Super friendly place w/ AMAZING food 8/30/2005

Yummy Yummy is great for both lunch and dinner. The four dishes I had there were all really good. I especially recommend: 1) Squid salad - OMG! I am still thinking about this salad two weeks later. Lots of crunchy cabbage with mint, cilantro, basil, peanuts, fish sauce and all that - and perfectly cooked, right-sized pieces of squid hidden throughout. 2) Pho - beef soup with vegetables and tofu (I think it is #6) - this soup doesn't have beef in it, so ask for added beef. You will get the perfect combination of meat and veggies in this dish. A good assortment of crispy vegetables - a rarity in pho! And the people who work there are really nice - friendly, but not too friendly. They remembered me from my first visit. more

Vietnamese Phoa Noodles 8/17/2005

When Yummy Yummy first opened, the quality was superb and you really got your bang for your buck. They have been opened for a few years now, and I realized that their prices have gone up, the dishes have gotten smaller and their food is just not what it used to be. It’s still a good place to go, but beware, the wait can be long if you go during typical meal hours. more

Tasty Food, Great Price 8/11/2005

I'm not a big fan of Vietnamese food, but this place made me bite my tongue. The service was quick, like most Asian places, and the staff was very friendly. The waiter recommended the fried calamari and it was great. I loved the vegetarian chow fun, some of the best I've ever eaten. The imperial spring rolls were awesome as well. If you like the spring rolls on top of the noodles, they are actuallu very good and hearty here. They serve beers as well. Go to this place now!! more

Place opens late! 8/9/2005

When you have a craving for Pho (vietnamese soup noodles) and it's late, this is the place to go. Their soup is fragrant and hot and they serve it up super quick. Their vietnamese egg rolls aren't too bad either. If you want, order up some spring rolls to go with your noodle soup and you've got yourself a meal. I would definitely say that this place is a keeper in the sunset district. Parking is a little difficult at times though, so forewarned. more
