Although the curriculum at Lowell may be stressful, this school definitely prepared me for college. Not only did it prepare me for college courses but it also made me aware of the world's competitive reality. Comparing those, who graduated from Lowell and those who did not, Lowell did a fantastic job in accelerating our mentality and its application to the real world. If Lowell was to descend to the level of San Francisco's regular public schools, we would lose an great institution and many future leaders. Many successful and prominent figures of today, graduated from Lowell High School. No one individual but many.

Roosevelt Middle School offered a decent range of helpful instruction, and great variety of physical education activities. One of the more underrated middle schools in San Francisco. Although, funding has been cut since the Terminator took over, Roosevelt still has its adoring qualities. Not the cleanest of schools, but I've seen a lot worst. The music department isn't half bad either.

My friends attended Wallenberg Alternative High School on Vega Street and, form what I saw and heard, the school is absolutely great! It offers education as good as a private school education. Students there are above everage so the competetion is fears.
I would choose this school if I had to do it all over again. Unfortunately, I can't - I went to Washington High - ouch!!!

Dedicated, passionate teachers; impressive facility; kids are immersed in Mandarin; my son has finished Kindergarden and my daughter one year of pre-school. After 1 year, both understand a lot of Mandarin and can speak a little; both sing songs in Mandarin. They look forward to going to school, and they don?t want to leave at the end of the day (which I think is a good sign). Many prospective parents worry that they don?t speak Mandarin. Don?t worry; only 10% of students have a parent who speaks Mandarin. Many prospective parents worry about the difficulty of parking. Don?t worry. There?s plenty of parking. It has never taken me more than 2 or 3 minutes to find a parking spot close to the school.

Ss. Peter and Paul follows the beliefs of St. Don Bosco in that kids are a very high priority. The staff is a mix of regular teachers and nuns. Classroom sizes tend to be a little large, ranging from 20-40. If you want to raise your child a true Catholic, this is the place to go. You don't have to be Catholic to send your child here but you get a discount if you are!

A truly great school. Very strong, caring experienced teachers. Low teacher turnover. Lots of classroom support from student teachers and volunteers, resulting in a low student/teacher ratio. Warm and welcoming - the principal knows the name of every child. Good academic curriculum, focus on arts and sciences. A small, integrated, fun school in a lovely Cole Valley, with a park and playground across the streeet. Much better than the local private schools.

Every now and then you'll hear someone crying because they don't want for Mom or Dad to leave them. These are preschoolers, it's expected. What I witnessed was singing, humming, laughing kids, playing together, discovering new foods, sharing stories, learning songs about practical subjects that will help then later on...month names, counting, what happens in nature to our compost, raising plants from seed, caring for each other. I'm very pleased. The parent community is wonderful and the director is working very hard to meet all the challenges we parents throw at her; because "our" children are special and we want the best for them. Talk with other parents. I think you will find our children are happy and love the community's environment.

this school is not too bad. good teachers, nice kids, a lot of asians, though. not as good as alamo or argonne elemtary schools, but sutro is not far behind. the kids learn a lot and go on field trips often, unlike many other schools who keep their students in class. enough public funding. three out of five.
